Chinatown On Thayer
Me and friends come here often for dinner when we get tired of dining hall food, and could you not the food each time has been delicious. The portions are more than generous, and the pricing is spot on. The staff are great to, if you become a regular they will notice:)
The food is so incredibly bland and mid at best. Everything is doused in oil with no flavor in the rice. The chicken is monotonous even if you get the different flavors, and it had an unpleasant crunchy texture. Service is fine but especially at peak traffic, the line gets disorganized.
Chung Ching Restaurant
On a search for the best crispy beef or equivalent in Cincinnati and friend referred me here and said the equivalent dish would be Sautéed Hot Beef Shreds. I was in the area and stopped in for lunch on a Saturday. They were just setting up the tables and I was the only person there. I asked if the Sautéed Hot Beef Shreds were similar to crispy beef explaining the dish, and got a confused look. Not a good sign... I ordered the Hot and Sour Soup and the Sautéed Hot Beef Shreds. Soup came out fairly quickly. It lacked flavor and screamed for some form of seasoning. The Sautéed Hot Beef Shreds arrived next. First bite and new this was not a similar dish. Not much spice or flavor and definitely not crisp. I am glad I stopped in to try to support a local business and appreciate the friendly service, but my search continues.
We've been coming to Chung Chung for years. It's the best Chinese, and REAL Chinese food. The wonton soup and everything else is truly handmade with great recipes. You cannot lose here! Those pics are what you get for one lunch .. awesome!
China Inn Restaurant
Went in for lunch. Everything came out hot and was plated beautifully. Staff were all very friendly and on top of service. Bathroom was also clean. I would return and try something else from the menu. We had sesame chicken and sweet sour chicken along with some egg drop soup that was well flavored and had chicken chunks.
Hadn't eaten here in quite some time and was honestly very disappointed in the food. Ordered hot and sour soup which was ok. Entrees were Happy Family and Hong Sue Har Kew. Happy family was so salty and the broccoli was still raw. The Hong Sue Har Kew was sickeningly sweet. The only thing that we enjoyed was the fried calamari appetizer. Service, however, was excellent. Doubtful we will ever return.
Takara Noodle
So excited to have found a delicious Asian resturant in the Greensboro area! They had tons of variety for dish options. We tried the White Tonkotsu Ramen with Pork, Black Garlic Ramen with Shrimp, and the Pork Bun appetizer. We ate in, while the restaurant is mainly set up for to-go it does have a handful of booths and tables along the walls. They brought our food to our table which was really nice. The pork buns came on a paper plate but were really delicious and fresh. Our ramen came in a nice bowl that we were able to ask for a lid to go with since it was such a large portion. Both ramen dishes were very tasty, not too overpowering of flavors and were very full of noodles, meat and other ingredients. Overall our meal was delicious, reasonably priced, and we can't wait to go back to try more!
Amazing noodles spot decide to go and have ramen did not disappoint will be returning to try other flavors
Great Wall
So I ordered the beef and broccoli with lo mein noodles. Food started out good. Towards the end of my meal I found a piece of metal in my meat. Good thing I chew my food well or else I would have swallowed it. Smh. The meal started off great, now I'm worried about how it was prepared and what else I may have eaten without knowing.
My friend told me great wall got a new owner ans it is much better than before. Hot and fresh food and clean environment. So i decided to give it a try. I got my favorite general tso's chicken. It was awsome! They gave me a good amount of food with good price. It is hot and fresh and tasty. The restaurant seems cleaner. i will come back again with my family!
