BIBIBOP Asian Grill
The reason for this review, is for the customer service KELLY provided at the bibibop on Calumet in Munster IN. She is the sweetest ever, she’s attentive, patient, and very helpful. It’s employees such as herself that makes people want to come back and spend money. Cause I don’t care how great your food is, if your service is poor. I will take my money elsewhere. So 5stars to Kelly for a great attitude and her professionalism.
Delicious GLUTEN-FREE everything!!! Husband and I are always on the lookout for good, local, gluten-free cuisine, as he has celiac. Recently ordered from Bibibop, Munster, after son told us about it. Used the online format to pre-order. Food was ready on time, and the window staff were very pleasant and smiley. Did not go in, but gave 5 stars for packaging in lieu of atmosphere. Ordered 3 different bowls, all were scrumptious, made to order, and chock-full of protein!!! I’m telling you, they do NOT skimp on ingredients. One bowl could easily feed 2 for lunch. Had mine for dinner and scarfed down the whole thing ( noodles, spicy chicken, tofu, carrots, corn, sprouts, with a sesame ginger sauce). Husband had bbq beef bowl with the red chili sauce (made to order) and daughter had one of the house specials. My pics are crummy and do not do the food justice by any means. Whether you need to eat gfree or not, I highly recommend this place for hearty, healthy, tasty grub!
TEA+POKÉ
Expectations vs. reality.... I ordered this bowl thinking it comes with exactly that amount of meat (for 13 I surely would hope it did). This is my second time ordering a rice bowl from this place. Normally I get a poke bowl which gets no complaints from me except I don't understand how tofu is extra which isn't a big deal because I normally keep tofu at home as well as homemade poke sauces because of the fact that they charge nearly a dollar for less than an ounce of extra sauce. INSANE. The first time I ordered a rice bowl I figured "Maybe they were running low on supplies" and I didn't mind the meager portion. So this time I ordered extra meat. They literally gave me 4 pieces of meat for 5 dollars extra.... third picture is the "extra" image. On top of that bubble tea is called bubble tea because of the boba, so why does it cost extra for the bubble (boba) in bubble tea? It's a shame that the food is so good but if I'm gonna spend 40-55 dollars every time I go there for just two people, whether it be in person or delivery, I'd rather get my money's worth. Maybe I'll try again in a few months .
i never leave reviews but the customer service is fire + i’ve ordered 4 different things off of the menu & everything has been SOO GOOD and actually tastes fresh. it’s a very comfy atmosphere, the boba is rlly yummy plus you get deals when you come in often. this is me and my besties go to place to eat PLS NEVER CHANGE
Noodles and Company
I saw a commercial for the Baked 4-Cheese Chicken Alfredo so I needed to try it. It was delicious! could have used a bit more sauce but still great. Clean place and fast and friendly service. Will definitely be back 👍
The mac and cheese is to die for and lactose intolerant will when they eat this. When i say this thing is creamy and cheesy i mean it. This thing will feed two people easily. The store feels a lot like a trendy restaurant that goes viral but it doesn’t have anyone in it a lot of the time. The staff are just the same as most places where they do their job and speak in nice tones but they’re not like Chick-fil-A or nothing.
Giovanni's Restaurant
True Italian dining Every meal I ordered was amazing. The drinks were delicious. I had the gnocchi ala vodka sauce and I’d recommend this, I will be back. My waitress was very friendly and gave me good recommendations as this was my first time at this restaurant. They had live music and the ambiance was great / it is a true gem here and I’d recommend for a date night or family meal. I will be back.
We went there a few weeks ago . Great place live music in bar area. Food is great and drinks on point , lighting is cozy . I highly recommend it.
Munster Gyros
Currently started working in Munster. I love gyro shops so I wanted to try this one. I ordered an itilian beef, there’s olives in it??? That’s not normal… also there was a piece of plastic in my sandwich. The flavor was waaaay of to me for being an itilian beef. Basically just ate the bread but couldn’t even eat that because it tasted like olive juice and cinnamon. Photo is what was in my Sandwich. Looks like a piece of plastic. Won’t be back. Spent $16 on food I couldn’t even eat. The fries were very salty too.
Best gyros. Best ribs. An old favorite for years and years for me and my family! Really appreciate the old school feeling inside too. Don't ever change Munster Gyros!
Little Tokyo Japanese Restaurant
Love the decor. Took me back to when I lived overseas as a little girl. The restaurant was chill so I was able to enjoy everything and talk with my partner. I had soba noodles with chicken and veggies. The broth was flavorful, the chicken was tender and the veggies was refreshing. My partner fell in love with chicken Katsu. We were full but not overwhelmed. Will definitely visit again.
Last night, my husband, son, and I were looking for somewhere new (to us) to try. We were craving Japanese. We settled in Little Tokyo because it had ok Google reviews - and was really our only option as we have been everywhere else around the immediate here. Walking in the door should have been our “sign” to go elsewhere. There was a table blocking the doorway that said DoorDash orders. A young guy appeared from behind a curtain, and I asked him if they were only doing to go orders. He seemed surprised but replied no, and moved the table out of the way a little bit for us to get by. He told us to have a seat anywhere. There were no lights nor heat on. About 15 min later he returned to the table and took our order. The lights and heat kicked on. All 3 canned drinks had expiration dates of mid Feb. Not horribly out of date. We ordered a sushi roll, filet mignon stir fry, pork katsudon, edamame, cucumber salad, and shrimp shumai. It took an hour and a half to get it all out. Husband said sushi was ok. My son could have gotten better stir fry at Round the clock. Pretty sure it was pkg and they microwaved it. And my pork katsudon was straight up microwaved. They took rice. Poured eggs over it w pork cutlet previously cooked and zapped it in the microwave. We couldn’t eat either. We also placed a to go order an hour into our meal of a tuna roll and salmon roll (6 pieces each). After an hour and a half, I had to go looking for the kid who was serving the table. He just kept disappearing. We were still the only ppl there. Finally he reappeared and we asked for our to go and the check. Someone came from the kitchen and said it would be 10 min on the to-go😳. So almost 2 hours later we were walking out of the worst meal ever. Getting home found there was only 1 roll not 2 - checked the receipt and gad been charged for both. How does this place have 4.1 stars on Google is beyond me. Never again.
BigCity CheeseSteaks
We were excited to try this place, but was disappointed in what we received 0/10 wouldn't recommend. Why are these steak fries sideways in the bag? I was missing an order of fries. Very greasy and messy! No napkins or utensils. I really tried, but I won't be returning.
The only good thing about this place is the food. If you have the patience to deal with rude people and messed up attitudes then this is your place. The wait time is always longer than expected, like be serious how long does it take to chop up a steak. The main issue I have with this place is the effort that they put out. I always get the vibe this is just a hang out spot for the workers. Me and another guest have been waiting over 30min for our orders. Mine you I called ahead just be prepared for the wait but the cooks are literally in the back just talking. I understand it's not a fast food place but please can yall put some effort into actual work. I hate when black people get business and treat it like it's not a business. The front girl always has this look on her face as if she doesn't want to be here. I hate that I even have to make a review but this is literally a problem I experienced at least the last few times i decided to order here. Please get better.
Red Lobster
We haven't been to a Red Lobster for a while and sometimes they're hit or miss. We were looking for some seafood though and decided to visit this location. Let me tell you that we could not have made a better decision. Our server Courtney and the manager Dimitri took very good care of us. We had drinks, appetizers, and a lot of food that all came out hot and on time. I would definitely visit this location again. Thanks for having us and we will be back! By the way the Rock Lobster was cooked perfectly!
I ordered a 12oz steak on DoorDash and I received a bland, dry, burnt piece of carcass. The cook should be ashamed of sending this steak out! Management you need to make your staff do better!!!
Kitaro Surf & Turf & Sushi
Lovely family owned Japanese restaurant with high-end traditional food with a fusion twist. Dare to experience an “omakase” dinner and abandon yourself to the chef’s choice of food. And by the way, the chef’s name is John Kitaro and yes, he is the owner! Unfortunately I only did that with an appetiser and I got an amazing sashimi mix topped with tobiko! See pictures of what I tried for three days in a row, only the Tenjaku whisky missing.
I recently stumbled upon this lovely gem of a restaurant, and I must say, it was a marvelous experience from start to finish. The interior decor is both pleasant and beautiful, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that immediately sets the tone for a great meal. The service was top-notch, our server Caleb made sure we were well taken care of throughout our visit. We started with a selection of appetizers including the asparagus tempura, the tuna tartar, and the lobster tempura. All the appetizers were beautifully plated and favorable. For our entrées, we chose the Crabby Joe and Lemon Salmon Rolls, both of which were plated beautifully and tasted as good as they looked. The Korean-styled Chirashi and Sashimi Fifteen were equally impressive, featuring incredibly fresh fish that was delicious. We’ll definitely be coming back for more!
Commander Restaurant
Returned a breakfast item as it was not prepared correctly and they did not use ingredients as advertised on menu. We politely pointed that out immediately when served (didnt eat or touch) "Owners wife" refused to remove charge from guest check and said; "take it home then". We didn't want it as it was pretty badly prepared and not appetizing at all. Still they charged full price even though we left it untouched. Never ever will we be going back.
We were meeting family coming from Michigan and a half-way point was Munster, Indiana. If you are looking for great food & service with a diner-type atmosphere this is it! From the time we walked in the restaurant, we felt at home. The hostess was very friendly and was an expert in hospitality. The waitress was very knowledgeable, kind, attentive, and efficient! The food was amazing and the portions very generous. The meal was timed perfectly. The large menu has a variety of choices and everything we ordered was excellent. Highly recommend. Thank you for a great experience!
Dragon Bowl
It's clean, the dining room has reopened, and the food is an exclamation point surrounded by parentheses (modest decor, great food, in a good area). Chinese, Japanese, and Thai cuisines. No MSG! Vegetarian and diet entrees are available. Get a take-out/delivery menu...it's huge. They're good people, so be patient with the language difference. Enjoy!
This is a get in/out type of place. They aren’t friendly and wont go above and beyond. Asked for eel sauce on the side, they charged me $1 and I get home and all I have is soy sauce. However, fish portions are generous and food tastes fresh. Never had a problem with their sushi.
Fortune House Chinese Restaurant
I’ve been living in this area for 6yrs now and always wanted to try this place and I regret that I did. I ordered a small beef fried rice spicy and a veggie egg roll. The inside texture of the egg roll was mushy, the rice was mushy and the beef was mushy as well. I took 2 bites of the egg roll and a few forks of the rice. My mouth instantly got watery and stomach felt sick indicating I was about to vomit… and that’s exactly what I did. I just threw everything away. $10 down the drain. The food was horrible and I DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!
I got a combination Lo mein and when I tell u it was no no meat and the noddles were stuck together I’m disgusted 🤢 and couldn’t even eat the food and the egg roll was mushy.. this is my first and last time ordering from here… if I had four thumbs I’ll give this 4 thumbs down 👎👎👎👎👎 do us a favor and close this place up
