China II(Mooresville)
First time taking a risk at this place because I was really craving good Chinese and yeah I’ll pass next time. I ordered the 4 wing combo. Wings were super big but mostly fried skin and rubbery textured chicken. Most of it went to waste. The fried rice tastes like old oil, that’s what added flavor I guess. The spring roll was old, one bite and it was More of a struggle. Best part was the fortune cookie. Completely disappointed, I’m from NY and know good Chinese spots, yeah this wasn’t it.
I don’t necessarily want to write a review for this place since it’s a gem! Please just trust me when I tell you their chicken wings and white rice are the best! I haven’t had anything that surpasses their flavor! Juicy fried chicken, I believe they must have found a chicken in the wild. Nurtured it and brought it up with love just to serve to the community!
Rice Fun
Wow! I’m very upset the food is not good at all! I ordered because people were saying it’s great and now it’s in the garbage. I’m so confused where you all are getting food from that this is considered “good”? It’s sad… I would recommend rice bowl in Denver food is great! And actually fresh and cheaper. Don’t waste your time with this place! Awful!
Went here because Salsaritas doesn't accept large bills😒 So glad we did. Reasonable prices, a cute vibe and delicious food. We went in starving, ate until we were stuffed and still had extra to bring home
Lotus
I forgot how good this place was. Honestly the best Chinese restaurant in the area (they do some Thai dishes too)... the broccoli and beef was amazing. The portion was generous too—I had enough left over to feed my future self (you’re welcome, Tomorrow Me).... the wait staff is 5 star too. They keep the lemon water glass filled to the brim. I highly recommend this place.
With not a lot of great Chinese options in the area, Lotus is the winner, but still has opportunity to improve. We ordered a ton of food for our family reunion. The sweet and sour chicken and the hibachi chicken and steak stood out as the clear winners. Everyone was very pleased with these two and had no complaints. I judge a Chinese restaurant on their ability to produce an accurate General Tso Chicken, and Lotus definitely had the right flavor. Big win! Unfortunately, the heat was too low and the sauce (while correct in flavor profile) was a little too bland. It was a 3/5 as far as the General Tso Chicken. The noodles were also good; not the best we've ever had, but still hearty and had some flavor. All in all, we'd definitely return here. Well done, Lotus!
J's Chinese
Do not waste your hard earned money at this restaurant. They have new owners/ management and the food and service has gone down the toilet. I’ve had to return food twice and both times I was met by that lady who takes orders with a crappy attitude and 0 people’s skills. She claimed that “no one ever complains about the food”, however from the reviews I’ve seen since they have taken over, they are getting lots of negative reviews. Now she can add my negative review to the rest. I am extremely disappointed with the food and service at this restaurant. Please spend your money elsewhere, where the costumer is actually respected!
This will be my last time ever getting anything from this place. All my food was cold. It all tasted like it was re cooked. The honey chicken wasn't sweet and it tasted so bad after 2 chews I had to spit it out almost threw up. The egg roll was disgusting, the Crab Rangoon was cold, very crunchy and had bad smell wasn't pleasant at all. The chicken wings were cold and didn't have any flavor the beef and broccoli was cold as ice. The rice was cooked too long it was hard. The food really tasted like it had been sitting in nasty old dish water. After spending over $40 you can say I'm very very disappointed 😞 I wouldn't recommend this establishment to nobody. If you are looking for good Chinese Food this is not it.
Great Wok
Update: we have now ordered food at least 15 times from Great Wok. Consistently delicious food, never a disappointment! (Original review):This is our new favorite Chinese restaurant. We order ahead and pick up. The quality is better than our previous favorite, and love that you can ask for the spiciness just how you want it. Friendly, helpful people.
Best Chinese I have had in a while. I was visiting NC for a plant visit and just happened to Google Chinese food near me. The Google reviews were right. Food was hot, fresh ingredients, and lots I mean lots of the correct flavors. The lady serving things up was handling multiple call in, dine in and take out orders like multitasking was in here genes. Awesome experience all the way around. The restaurant is decorated nicely, it is VERY clean and the area it is located is safe and nice. Wish I could visit more often, but it is a 5 hour drive from home. It is now in my book of good foods and places to go while traveling.
Huang's Chef
Absolutely wretched meal with disgusting quality’s! You would think paying 40 dollars for 2 meals you would actually get dome decent quality food but no! My fiancée ordered d the shrimp chow mein that came in a bunch of water and iceberg lettuce with absolutely no flavor with little baby shrimp that wore disgusting as if they were bought from aldi and left sitting out all day! The sesame chicken was hard as a brick and the sauce was chunky! This place has finally put the nail in the coffin with any hopes of getting some decent Chinese food In Mooresville!
The taste of the food isn’t so bad, but my whole family woke up to horrible stomach aches. Unfortunately we will not be eating here anymore. We only had shrimp fried rice, chicken wings and crab ragoon
Yami
Terrible Terrible Terrible. The chicken did not taste like chicken and was grossly overcooked The veggies were awful . I will never go back
TERRIBLE experiences. They all have an attitude and have treated us horribly on several occasions. Food is not good. There are better places like this very close who treat you better and have better quality of food. I would run.
Jin Jin
If you like low quality food with no flavor, then this is the place for you. I ordered Chicken Scallion combo with egg roll and fried rice, quart of wonton soup, and a coke. If it wasn't for the coke, I would have thought I had Covid. The food had no flavor. I've never seen a wonton soup without any vegetable. Also, a quart had 4 wontons and a lot of liquid. The scallion chicken was an unknown part of the chicken, overly breaded and fried, and drowning in flavorless sauce.
Whatever you do, DO NOT get the sweet and sour shrimp. To be honest i kind of thought they were pig feet at first glance, but after further investigation they were massive dough balls with two baby strips/ not even full pieces of shrimp (see red circle). This place used to be the spot but it’s sad to see what’s become of it. The dough on the inside of these wads was so undercooked and sticky it made it inedible and the shrimp inside was overcooked and rubbery. In the photos, what you see is the left over dough after picking through to find the shrimp. I was really looking forward to some good shrimp for dinner but I’m dismayed. Safe to say I won’t be returning:/
Happy Wok
In from out of town for work. I love Chinese but this place is terrible. Sweet and sour chick is dry and overcooked, it wasn’t surprising to see a review a week ago claiming the same thing. I never write reviews but this terrible food forced it. The general tso chicken is also dry and overcooked and no heat to it. Rice is terrible and the 1.50 you pay extra for fried rice is just white rice in soy sauce. I mean it’s just absolutely disgusting and I would avoid this place
Our favorite Chinese restaurant was closed today and my kids really wanted Chinese so we decided to stray and never will again. It was awful! The sweet and sour chicken was way overcooked and dry and tough. The white rice was dry. The sweet and sour sauce was like water. It was all just gross. My daughter wouldn’t even eat the crab ragoons (which are her absolute favorite). She had no idea we ordered from somewhere new before trying them.
Bing's Chinese Restaurant
Good Chinese, relatively fast, big portions, good quality. The pot stickers are a pass, both the fried and the steamed, but the owner is wonderful to work with, the prices are good and you'll be full of good tasting value. I'm a frequent customer.
My husband & I have heard great things about Bing’s and finally ordered takeout to see for ourselves. Her food is by far the best Chinese food around and her portions are MASSIVE. One entree is definitely shareable between two people. She’s incredibly friendly and food is made fresh. This is definitely our place when we are wanting Chinese!
Dong's China Buffet
For the price, this place is exceptional. We went to this place after driving for the whole morning, totally worth it! Literally the best Chinese buffet we’ve ever had in this nation at this price level. Everything was so fresh, they even had some food that was unique that you won’t see at other Chinese buffets. Personally I love their peanut pork/chicken, I had it every time I refilled. Their salad bar and fruits were also impossibly fresh.
Good food, good service. My only complaint is being charged for a 3 year old. Most places do not charge for that age. Will just get take out next time.
China Express
While on lunch I was craving some Chinese food. Ironically it’s an American staple and we consume a ton! As I placed my order and waited impatiently my mouth was already watering. The restaurant smelled like good wings and sesame chicken. The first bite was different but didn’t want to bash it until I was sure. The chicken was certainly marinated in something that made it crispy but the taste was off. Upon breaking the wing the interior of the wing looked like something that’s been sitting there for a while. I immediately lost my appetite. As for the rice the red meat was chewy as I’m assuming was the pork. I’m not saying all of their menu items would be this bad but I would think twice and probably call and ask about freshness before ordering. I’m never going back as the first impression means a lot.
Love this place! We repeatedly order lunch to go and their food is always deliciously consistent. Big fan of their general tso and orange chicken.
