Tsing Tao Mandarin Chinese
Tsing Tao in Wilmette is a great spot for a satisfying meal, and it’s nice to be back after our previous visits. We ordered the Family Special and some Lo Mein, and everything was really tasty. The Mongolian beef was a standout—full of flavor—and the Bu Bu platter was a hit, too. The portions were generous, leaving us with plenty for takeout. One of the best things about Tsing Tao is that the food feels healthier and less greasy compared to other local Chinese places, without sacrificing any flavor. The service was quick and friendly, making the experience even better. For the quality and quantity of food, Tsing Tao offers fantastic value. Plus, it’s nice to leave feeling good, full, and not overly thirsty. We’ll definitely keep coming back!
I have run past this restaurant hundreds of times and walk past daily on my way home from work, but had never tried this delightful, old school Chinese restaurant. That all changed on Xmas Eve, when, as a family we dined. This isn't a new place and the food isn't cutting edge, but everything is what you expect and, truly, delicious. The foods described as spicy had a nice bite to them and the lo mein was so traditional (to my taste buds) as to be comfort food. Recommended. We will go back.
Thai Inbox Wilmette
This place is a real gem! My family and I ordered takeout — the Inbox Pad Thai is a must-have. The thin rice noodles are a really nice twist to traditional Pad Thai. We also got the Lad Nar as an entree and the chive dumplings and shu mai as appetizers. I highly recommend the chive dumplings — they are super crispy on the outside and have a delicious filling! 🥟
"Thain Inbox is a hidden gem! The food is absolutely delicious, especially the basil fried rice. The flavors were perfectly balanced, and the rice was cooked to perfection. The service was friendly and attentive. I can't wait to come back and try more dishes. We also used their catering service for an event recently, and our guests raved about the food! The dishes were fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented."
Dowize Bistro
We have been coming here for the past couple of years, the food is normally very good. But during the most recent visit my Nard Nar was tasteless. The vegetables were under cooked, the noodles were swimming in blend liquid, the noodles and chicken had no taste. Wonder if their regular chef was off for the day and they had a guy that doesn’t know about Thai cooking? Hope our next visit will be much better. The waitress was as nice and friendly as usual.
Really delicious and affordable lunch here in Wilmette. I got the pad Thai with fried tofu as the complimentary appetizer. It also came with a small salad and soup. Big hearty portion! Definitely will be back soon.
Panda Express
This Panda was pretty busy during lunchtime, I wonder how many of us was using the buy one get one free coupon 😄 Because the place was busy most of the items was freshly cooked, my mushroom chicken was tasty and so was the teriyaki chicken too, just coming off the grill.
Very good, friendly service and the food was great as always.
House of Chan
I went to this restaurant for the first time this week. It's located on Green Bay Road in downtown Wilmette. I have passed it numerous times, only because it's almost hidden among the storefronts in the area. What a find! As there are only two tables in the place, it appears that most of their business is carryout. The dining area is right out of the 1960's, but the kitchen and food prep area are spotless. It's run by a friendly couple and the food was well prepared and delicious! As good as any Cantonese restaurant that I've been to. Try it, you won't be disappointed!! 👍
An absolute gem! So unexpected. All from scratch, fresh, delicious and economical. Owners are lovely and kind. There aren’t enough places like this anymore. Keep it going Chan!
