Gong Ho Restaurant
Great flavor and menu. Phenomenal appetizers. Does not have a big starch fry selection. Made the mistake of ordering something not on the menu the first time, but was blown away by the appetizers and made a second visit. I forgot to tip on Christmas and will need to make at least a third!
The only thing that was good was the egg rolls. Egg foo young was kinda blackish and stinky and no flavor, the kung pao chicken had a weird flavor maybe like stale oil not sure, the beef had kinda spoiled flavor. Veggies were not crisp fresh but soft like over cooked. Service was super fast delivery. And they added extra packets soy sauce and fortune cookies. Haven’t found a good Chinese or Thai in the Woodridge area but if you do, message me.
Cebu Lechon House & New Chinese Kitchen
We came here specifically to try the Filipino food because the Chinese food you can get anywhere. When looking for this place, look for New Chinese Kitchen otherwise you’ll miss it. It’s across the street from Arby’s in a small strip mall. You’ll definitely have to make a U-Turn because getting into the lot is weird. Plenty of parking since it is a shared lot. We decided to do two combo meals plus the aristocrat chicken. When dining in, there are about 4 tables so it can be limited if there is a rush hour. The owner was very pleasant and he explained about the items before we looked at the menu. Lumpia was crispy and tasty. Garlic rice was a little oily but still good. Overall, it’s about a 4. I would have given them a 5 but that rock hard crispy kare kare is hard to forget. However, I’ll return to try other items. -crispy kare kare with garlic rice and lumpia 3 - I wanted to like this but the crispy kare kare was a huge let down. It was very tough to eat. I’ve had Filipino food many times and it was never this hard. It’s a shame because the peanut sauce with the veggies and eggplant were delicious. -bbq pork belly (liempo) with garlic rice and lumpia 5 - I really liked the BBQ pork belly. Very easy to cut with a spoon. Meat was well seasoned. It is fatty, so it’s best to eat it with rice. -aristocrat chicken 5 - highly recommended. Chicken is extremely flavorful even for leftovers. Meat is very moist and juicy. Nice balance of sweet and salty. I should have gotten the 10 pieces.
Can only comment on the Cebu Lechon House menu. Have not tried the New Chinese Kitchen Menu (except for possibly the fried rice). Ordered the Aristocrat Chicken combo plate and Lechon Kawali Combo plate. The Chicken was sweet and savory with little bits of fried garlic. The Lechon was crispy and flavorful. The side of spiced vinegar helped cut through the fattiness of the pork. The fried rice was simple, but flavorful. Was not too salty or greasy, so worked well with the Lechon and the flavorful chicken. The Lumpia was good. Maybe too much wrapper and not enough filling for my preference, but certainly not the worst lumpia I've had. They were cooked perfectly with a very crunchy texture, so I would certainly order again. Would recommend either dish. Cannot wait to try the other offerings!
Z!Eats (Formerly Zoup!)
The experience was pk. They ran out of 3 of the popular soup choices. I tried the Sante fe chkin and veg soups. I liked them. I tried the Cuban sandwich. It was very salty. I didn't finish it. Customer service was very good.. I read many of the reviews. Pay attention to the common theme .....
Clean establishment, wonderful staff, and great food! We arrived 8 minutes before closing and the staff were super friendly; did not make us feel rushed at all. They allowed us to sample the soups and took the time to provide soup combination suggestions with explanations of soup flavor profiles. Friendly and professional… not at all pretentious. I’m so glad to have this near home! Thank you 🥰
Kabob Q
Oh wow talk about flavor! This local family owned restaurant makes some amazing traditional dishes. Perfect for a quick bite or for something fast and casual. The location is perfect, just minutes away from the highway exit and in a quiet little plaza. Let’s talk about the food though. The meats are amazing. Chicken, beef, lamb. All absolutely delicious. Juicy, cooked perfectly with the flame and taste filled with flavor and spices. The lentil soup is great and fresh and lemony. This place is as authentic as a fast food Middle Eastern restaurant can be, and you’re seriously missing out if you don’t swing by here!
Had the chicken shawarma Q and it was delicious. Tasted almost exactly like the shawarma I would get in Kuwait. Service was quick and the staff was very friendly. Highly recommend.
China House Chinese Restaurant (Kenosha)
My first time ordering from this restaurant (Ubereats). Some of the dishes were hit or miss. We got the sesame chicken and fried chicken wings lunch special with egg rolls, 2 of each lunches, plus an order of crab rangoons. I’d give the food overall a 2.8 out of 5. Nothing spectacular honestly but for the price it was worth it. Not too expensive $50 for everything, 5 items. Large portions. The chicken wings were not good at all neither my husband or I enjoyed them. Crispy but the chicken tasted old and had an odd taste, edible but definitely not something we’d ever order again. Not like they weren’t made fresh but like they were sitting in the fridge/freezer for a long while. Plus they were small. The sesame chicken was really good though and probably the best thing we got. Crab rangoons were crispy after nearly an hour later of eating them, they were good. The sweet and sour sauce was very very thin and watery we didn’t bother eating it. Some parts of the rice was a slight bit crunchy/undercooked and didn’t have much flavor the onions were definitely needed to add more flavor. Didn’t really seem like fried rice more like white rice with yellow food coloring added. Egg rolls were the same, kinda plain needed soy sauce to add flavor but they were crispy. The food arrived fast and hot so I’ll give them that. They offered a lot of condiments and utensils as requested so I appreciate it.
You can't beat China House in Kenosha. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐🐲🥡🍜🍤 There's no comparison. Absolutely amazing food with good portions, good prices, and fast reliable service. You definitely want to call in and take out (usually ready in 15 minutes). A decent eating area, but they package everything great for you to go. They have a great family working hard in their kitchen. I've enjoyed their Sweet and sour chicken, sesame chicken, General Tso chicken, shrimp lo mein. Their Chicken Egg Foo Young makes me want to quit cooking and order another serving. They are the best in Kenosha and they deserve your patronage. 😋🤤👍👍🥡
Honada Sushi & Hibachi
Update: 12-28-24 Again, I enjoyed my dinner totally. This time I had the Empire Sushi Roll and the Hibachi Grill. I picked the Filet & Shrimp Combo, which came with soup and salad.
I went with a few friends, we all loved the experience. The inside is gorgeous and the workers are patient and friendly. Our waitress was lovely and sweet, so i ended up tipping 12% on the little machine.
Pimmy's Authentic Thai Cuisine
A no frills place and yes they have still in 2025 plastic plates and plastic silverware but they make up with it in their food quality. They are not shy on the price and have smaller portions then anywhere else but I gave them five stars because the food is really good and isn't that what we are all wondering when looking up restaurant reviews? I'm not from the area but whenever I am close to this place visiting we stop in and the food is usually always good.
Probably the best Asian food in Kenosha. It is authentic, delicious and not very expensive, especially when compared with other Asian cuisine in Kenosha. Their Thai iced tea is amazing and refreshing. The duck over rice is my go to, its salty and melts in your mouth, the satay chicken is what I get for an appetizer and their pad thai is also wonderful. If you get bothered by plastic utensils, paper plates and takeout boxes as food plates or having to order at the desk instead of being seated and served, then this place might not be for you. I would also say however that you if you think any of those things matter at all, you are a massive loser who needs to get a grip. The staff is wonderful, they are so bubbly and energetic, they will bring a smile to your face the minute you walk in. Love this place and the energy it has.
Malahini Terrace
I ordered large pork fried rice and received a small pork fried rice. In addition the pork fried rice had very little pork and no vegetables that traditionally accompany ANY fried rice. See photos. I ordered a beef egg foo young and received what you could describe as a thimble of white rice to accompany it. I contacted the restaurant and was told the manager would call me back. 24 hours later I have yet to hear anything!
Food is great. Family has been going there for years. Spend hundreds per week. The gentleman always gives 2 cokes because we spend $50+ each time and pay cash. The lady does not provide this deal. She was rude when I asked her. Better off placing two separate orders for $21 each. Lost a long time customer over a can of coke and attitude.
Panda Express
Roxanna is a jerk. Gave us little meat when the person ahead of us got twice as much. Right in front of our face. There were 3 pieces of sesame chicken left and didn’t even put it in. The top of the bowl isn’t even covered. The person waiting for the orange chicken before us got 3 full scoops of orange chicken while we got 1 and a half. Like come on now Roxanna. What’s your problem.
It was my first time. Almost all the meat was spicy, service 50/50. The first guy with glasses almost yelled at me but the cashier was nice
Panera Bread
Review for Autumn – Exceptional Service at Panera I want to take a moment to acknowledge Autumn, the manager on duty tonight, for her outstanding professionalism and kindness. I had placed an order and believed I was missing several items. Without hesitation, Autumn kindly offered to remake my entire order. But after listening to her—calmly, clearly, and with genuine care—I took a breath and realized I had indeed received everything I ordered, minus a piece of bread. And honestly, that wasn’t a big deal. What stood out far more was her thoughtful way of speaking, her patience, and her willingness to go above and beyond. Autumn has served me before, and every interaction with her has been marked by warmth and clarity. Tonight, even when I was venting out of momentary frustration, she listened with grace and professionalism. That kind of service leaves a mark—it reminds you that kindness and communication matter deeply. I’m truly grateful. Panera is lucky to have someone like Autumn representing the brand. More people in customer service should lead with her level of empathy and presence.
We went through the drive thru and the gentleman was very nice. Their bread is wonderful we bought a loaf for meals at home. Absolutely in love with their broccoli cheddar soup 🤤
Golden Corral Buffet & Grill
Not sure if that was worth the price paid. Many salad bar items slimy or mixed in with other foods. The strawberry preserves were in front of the peanuts but there were peanuts in it. There were croutons in the hard boiled eggs holder. Many containers sitting out in eye view, very unprofessional looking. Employee cooking steak was not very happy to be at work; carved ham looked reheated and old. Green beans overcooked. Pot roast was good , mashed potatoes were good. Ice cream melted soon as it hit the bowl. It was like milk. Bread pudding not cooked well. Churros had no cinnamon on them. Overall quality just not good. I’m just naming items I actually tried. Some other items looked inedible. I went here because I wanted a variety of items and had my little one with me who’s a little picky , she was satisfied. It was just okay for me. Also didn’t like how the manager, or who I assume was a manager , was walking around in sunglasses, a coat, street clothes and a thermometer with a bucket of water. Assuming she was checking temps. Other manager was eager to take my payment and I don’t think he trusted that the cashier rung up my order correctly. Weird. Anyway, it’s just okay. Won’t go back anytime soon.
The restaurant is overall clean. Walking into the restaurant, I was greeted by the cashier and she was friendly. I tried the steak and it was good. The catfish was a 10/10. Also, if you’re looking for a great banana pudding spot, this is the place to go for. The staff was friendly and even the manager talked to my table for a bit. Overall, I would definitely recommend trying this place out.
Royal Buffet
The worst Chinese Buffet I have ever experienced, and at $20/person I can't believe it. I am not picky, I've never had a Chinese buffet I wouldn't return to, this one is it. The food was all obviously out since lunch (we were there from 4:30-5:15) and cold, hard, and disgusting. The cheese wontons, prepackaged desserts, and ice cream were the only edible things in the whole place. I didn't feel confident enough to try the sushi after I tried the rest of the food, and their warning sign above the sushi saying you can get sick from raw foods. Yeah. Only if they are improperly handled, so I guess that's what the warning is. The women's bathroom also smelled absolutely horrific. I worked plumbing for about a decade, this was a top 5 worst smells ever. I don't know how bad their sewage leak is, but it is smelling like it is leaking and has been for a WHILE. My stomach is made of iron, but this bathroom made me gag. The seats were also completely falling apart, I fell right into the first bench I sat on, one half was completely broken, all of them had the standard rips and tears, but the completely broken booth was a new one for me. I'm sorry that this review is so harsh, but it was one of the worst experiences I have ever had and I love shitty Chinese buffets.
This place is not even a shadow of what it used to be years ago. It used to have great food, freshly made and it was always hot, if it was suppose to be hot, cold if it's suppose to be cold. Not anymore, some of the food is either luke warm, or cold when it suppose to be piping hot. Also not as fresh as it used to be, some of the food items were tough. The best part is the section where you pick your own vegetables, raw food and they cook it for you, while you watch. Even the plates by the buffet were not properly cleaned. I brought all of the issues that I encountered to the attention of the management. I hope that they turn this place around and fast before is too late. The whole experience was very disappointing, to say the least.
