Darien Chop Suey
I use to love this place I was recently there and I ordered 2 pepper steak lunch specials. And they literally gave me all vegetables and about 3 or 4 pieces of meat, so I called them so they can fix it. And I asked for the shrimp, lo mein lunch special instead of the pepper steak because again it was all vegetables and it was tough meat i took pictures and showed it to the lady so they agreed to remake it so i go back days later and tell them i wanted the shrimp lo mein instead of the pepper steak Tell me why they gave me one shrimp. With one lunch special and gave me 4 shrimp with the other luch special I think they did that because they had to redo my food. But that's okay, I will not be going back here
I love noodles. I have ordered every pan fried, steamed, chow fun, mei fun, lo mein from just about every Chinese place in the DG, westmont, Woodridge, Willowbrook, Darien area. The common denominator for most of the places is how they love dumping a ton of onions in the dish with some noodles, a little bit of meat and a scant amount of other veggies. I spend more time picking the creepy little (sometimes not so little) chunks of the filler out than actually eating my precious noodles. Darien Chop Suey gives me none of the little buggers! I always order the pad see eiw and not only are there piles of glorious noodles, but they never skimp on the meat or veggies! Beautiful broccoli and mushrooms and not an onion in sight! It's so yummy. The hubs loves the sesame chicken. The egg rolls are plump and the egg drop soup is divine. Super nice on the phone and we've ordered like a dozen times and it's always ready in twenty minutes or so. This is my favorite Chinese place.
Chinese Kitchen
We order to go. We wanted lo mein but got something more like Mei fun. Skinny noodle instead of a fat noodle. Instead of a brown sauce it was a white sauce. Got the app platter, beef and pork was good. Crab ragoon ok, egg rolls disappointing The portions are very large.
The round sizzling tofu is delicious but other dishes I did not enjoy as much.We order often this tofu.
Tony and Tina's Deli
***UPDATE: 12/24/2024*** Remember when I said the Finley was my favorite since it was in-house made roast beef? Well, now they are making their turkey in-house too, which makes the Brayden a top choice too. How do I decide now?! Easy, I just order both and call it a day. I love ordering the large and having them pressed the bread too… The place is always festive and lively and the owners are some of the most wonderful people I know. Should be your #1 go to place for flavor and kindness! Go grab a sandwich, better grab a bunch/cater for the family/office. Great deals, but better taste, and happy faces after eating them. Thank you Tina & Tony :) Previous review: Friendly, clean and inviting! Both Tony and Tina are down to earth and great business owners who care and you can see it in their place and taste it in their food. The top sandwiches are Tony's, Finley's and Brayden's so I got all 3 and the Paytyn's Choice Panini too. I always love to get a selection of tastes so when I come back, I know what I love based on my mood. Well, everything tasted great and delicious especially that self-made roast beef!! If I had to pick a favorite it would be that Finley, but Brayden's Turkey is so good too. Eat that crispy hot Paytyn's Panini hot as it was so flavorful and scrumptious as well. I see why Tony's Italian is the most ordered as it is so satisfying with that assortment of meats. I really enjoyed that clean potato salad and will have that with my orders from now on. I didn't expect the chips and drinks with the sandwiches and was pleasantly surprised but mainly focused on eating those 4 sandwiches. My only nitpick is that macaroni salad was not happening for me so will pass on that. I look forward to trying the other options next time but probably going to always order the Finley no matter what and rotate the ones I just had or MAYBE another option. Thank you Tony and Tina for opening up and being my go to sandwich place!!! See you weekly from now on...
We decided to head over to Tony and Tina's for lunch, and it was a phenomenal decision. Upon entering, we noticed it was nicely decorated, very clean! We were greeted by a very polite young man at the counter, who walked us through the best sellers of the menu, and then proceeded to check in on us as we ate. Their 6 inch sandwiches are more than enough, and are filled with delicious, fresh ingredients. Their menu has quite a few different sandwiches, including a vegetarian sandwich. They are priced fairly, with a small sandwich, chips, and a drink for only $9.99. We will absolutely be back in the future to try more of the menu!
Chiba Japanese Restaurant
Amazing Staff, the best people to surround yourself with & superful helpful! Great food, amazing sushi, and the sashimi is absolutely fabulous. The hibachi isn't too salty, and has an amazing flavor that was nostalgic. The pricing is also super affordable for the high quality fish you get, and the salad and miso soup that comes with the Lunch set are above average when it comes to lunch set sides. Would recommend, and my family and friends look forward to coming back again!
Ordered the hibachi steak lunch special last Friday. Within a few hours started feeling sick. This was all I had all day so I know it was this places food which caused my sickness. Ended up having food poisoning that evening and sick in bed all weekend. It's now Tuesday and still don't feel back to normal. Message to Chiba management please clean up and sanitize. No need to get patrons sick after having a meal from your establishment.
Priya's Kitchen Westmont
A small restaurant with very little space to dine. You rate better off with a takeout as they charge you a service fee for eating there The food is tasty. We had dahi puri (chaat) but they luckily did not charge a service fee for that. There is ample parking and service is fast. We also took a takeout of the gobi Manchurian, veg biryani, and chicken lollipop which were all good. They also gave prepared curries on the service counter. There is an Indian grocery nearby where you can also stop by to buy grocery and some prepared curries. (Don’t know if these curries are from priya Westmont) Good customer service except for that service fee 😌
I like here the samusa chat and used to go for samusa and daal vada. Also tried some of the other menu. Stuffs are Friendly and the owner also nice. They cherge extra service fee for dining In.
