This review is only based on their Happy Hour menu. Went to the St. Charles location on a Friday . They also have So. Barrington and Burr Ridge locations. We sat in the bar for Happy Hour (Mon-Fri 3-6) and it was not too crowded at 430pm. They offer wines for 4.00,16oz Sapporo Draft for 3.00..Yes 3.00! As well as a selection of craft cocktails for 8.00. The Happy Hour food menu consists of rolls, lettuce wraps,Tempura Shrimp and a few more items. Prices are super reasonable . We had the Chicken Lettuce Wraps which were very good but would have liked more sauce. I guess we could have asked for a small cup of extra sauce so our mistake. The Yakitori Beef was juicy and tender glazed with a teriyaki sauce. My favorite was the Las Vegas roll..a panko crusted roll with a crab mix, cream cheese and jalapeno topped with a spicy seafood mix and tempura flakes drizzled with spicy mayo and unagi sauce. Fantastic and only 10.00! If you can make it to Happy Hour, give them a try..you will not be disappointed.

Food/Drinks/Atmosphere, everything was amazing! Carlos C. was our waiter and he also made our drinks. He was the best!!! Top service! Spicy Jalapeño margarita and the smoked old fashion were so good!! Also had the Dynamite Shrimp & Tuna Tartare appetizers along with the St. Charles roll, Black Widow roll and Orange Chicken w/ Fried rice. Ordered way too much but everything was awesome and leftovers the next day was too!

Pretty quiet for a Sunday afternoon. The food was awesome. The portion sizes were large. You'll definitely be taking home a care package. I had a delicious beef pad thai. The spice was just right. Lots on the menu for everyone

Delicious meal! Everything was very fresh and flavorful. The lunch special is a phenomenal deal, and we even had enough for leftovers. Our table had the hot and sour soup, lo mein, fried rice, mapo tofu, udon noodles, and egg roles. The tofu was absolutely delicious!! Some of the best I’ve ever had.

We got the orange chicken, garlic ginger chicken, and the beef lo mein. Everything was amazing. The garlic ginger chicken was my favorite, and the beef in the lo mein was so juicy and delicious.

Wow! This place is incredible. Awesome Chinese food. First off, definitely get the wontons. They are huge and the best I’ve ever had. I also tried the egg rolls and sesame chicken. Both were delicious. The service was fast and very friendly. Really romantic, intimate vibes inside as well.

My first time coming here with friends and it was great! We didn’t need a reservation. My food was good but I think my two friends would’ve liked to try something else. They ordered the Korean fried chicken, potstickers, and vegetable rolls. I had the beef ramen. Hot plates and we didn’t have to wait that long to get our food. The blueberry mocktails were okay, not our favorite. The service was great and the atmosphere was amazing! Such a nice place to eat at.

Update 12/17:2024 Was so impressed by the whole experience last time that I went back with my son to celebrate my birthday. Another wonderful experience was all-encompassing from the space, understated and loebeky holiday decorations, to the service - Enrique was fantastic - to the excellent cocktails, to the exquisite flavors of the food. We shared several small plates: pork belly buns, potstickers, and Chilean sea bass, all mouth-watering, vibrant, and flavorful. My son had the spicy shrimp ramen, and it was so good that I ordered the pork belly one even though I was already satisfied. A rich, flavorful broth with a depth of taste, springy and chewy noodles cooked to perfection, and well-balanced toppings like tender slices of chashu (braised pork) for me, spicy shrimp for my son, a seasoned egg (ajitsuke tamago), and fresh vegetables, all coming together to create a satisfying and comforting eating experience. Their signature cocktails are phenomenal, I love to get out of my norm and order different things. Today I tried the Blueberry Harmony - Iwai 45 / House-Made Blueberry Lemongrass & Ginger Shrub / Simple - it was superb and then had my classic old-fashioned. Service was wonderful. A huge shoutout to our amazing server, Enrique, for going above and beyond! ______________________________________ 9/16/2024 Stopped by with friends for a small bite before an event. Small plates and drinks during Happy Hour are a good value. The ambiance is chic and inviting. Ian, our server was excellent, he knew we were a bit tight on time and he sped things up. He also gave good suggestions. Every dish that we shared was fantastic - CHICKEN LETTUCE Wraps, PORK BELLY BAO BUNS, and especially the ANGRY SEA BASS. I'm an Old Fashioned snob, had the Ginger Sesame Old Fashioned Sesame - Washed Iwai 45, Buckspiced Ginger and Bitters Demerara - it was superb. I wishes we had more time to enjoy a few more plates and another cocktail. I will be back soon for another round.

Food was excellent, nothing anyone ate was mediocre, it was all beyond our expectations and staff were fantastic our waters and drinks seemed to fill automatically while we enjoyed talking and eating. Even the chairs were comfortable didn’t make you back or bottom sore after sitting for 2 hours which flew by. Thanks for great service and a great meal.

The rolls are amazing! Urban heat and dragon fire are my favorites, the 7 spicy ahi app is fantastic as well. My only complaint is I haven’t found a martini here that I love! They are all far too sweet

Drunken noodles with shrimp was really good. Not spicy either which I like. My friend got the cashew chicken and that was also delicious. The appetizer for two I recommend as well as you get to try crab crab Rangoons, spring rolls and egg rolls. The atmosphere was intimate and quiet too. Server was fast and attentive!

A great place for Thai. Enjoyed Kao Soy, avocado spring rolls and a glass of Prosecco. Will definitely be back.

ESTABLISHMENT: Nice ambiance. Clean dining area and clean restrooms. Plenty of parking. Approximate 17 tables in the dining area for 4 or more people each. STAFF: Owner is very friendly and welcoming. FOOD: Fresh and flavorful. Good variety. Pho and Bun dishes are good. We ordered egg-rolls, beef pho, lemongrass chicken. All were delicious. See photos for details.

Some great appetizer dishes like the beef tendon and the pho was good, but not great. The special bun vermicelli somewhat disappointing. Good size and shrimp done nicely but let down by what seemed to be somewhat tough and old cuts of other meats. Prices are good for serving size. Parking outside. Venue needs a little sprightening up as showing age,

Chums Shrimp Shack is a semi-fast-food gem that strikes the perfect balance between casual dining and elevated flavors, making it a must-visit for seafood lovers. The coastal chic ambiance, with rustic wooden tables and nautical decor, creates a laid-back yet trendy vibe, ideal for a quick bite or a relaxed meal. The menu offers a variety of seafood dishes to please every palate, paired with generously portioned sides that perfectly complement the main offerings. The service is impressively efficient, with friendly staff ensuring your meal is fresh and satisfying. Prices are reasonable, making this spot a great value for those seeking delicious seafood without the formality of a sit-down restaurant. Chums Shrimp Shack is the ultimate catch for fresh, flavorful seafood on the go!

The food is delicious. I love the lobster roll. It's perfect every time. The food tastes great every time we eat here. Service is good but the poor guy tonight needs help, he managed to prepare for 7-9 guests by himself. 3 stars for atmosphere due to the lack is heat in the restaurant area. Although chef was sweating from working so hard, we were a bit cold. All in all 4.5 stars!

Shima’s is one of my all-time favorite restaurants in the US, a true hidden gem for the Chicagoland area. The sushi is top notch quality, and the hot menu items are always fresh and delicious.

me and my friend went here on a holiday, and came in expecting a wait, but not 2 hours. we were sat immediately in the corner at the back of the restaurant and had to track down server, ask for menus and drinks, and ask to put our order in. we then waited over an hour for our food and had to ask if it was coming. as soon as we asked about the food they started preparing it. we have come here many times and service is usually great but this day they were very rude, and completely ignored me and my friends table. it was a very disappointing experience.

One of the best veggie pizzas I've eaten! I had never ordered here before but picked up my friends' order on the way to visit them. They placed the order knowing what I like but I didn't know what to expect. I like extra sauce and typically expect a floppy crust but nope! I was pleasantly surprised with crispy crust that held up to it as well as the generous amount of vegetable toppings. Kudos! I will be ordering for my family soon.

Every restaurant can have an off night and unfortunately it happened during our visit. The pizza was VERY good as always. It was the service that failed us. We had a total of 5 families. The server took 2 orders and disappeared. We finally tracked someone down who got the server to come back to take the rest of the orders. The first 2 were done eating before the other 3 had their pizzas out. One of the orders got mixed up with a customer's delivery order. For whatever reason that delayed the 2 other orders yet to come out. I went to speak with a manager and waited at the counter for nearly 5 minutes for a single employee in plain view to acknowledge me. When the manager finally came to the counter (after I flagged him down) I expressed our frustration. Initially I was offered only excuses. It wasn't until I said we'd pay whatever the bill is but would be very disappointed if it were full price. To his credit, he offered a 30% discount and an apology, which I gratefully accepted. These issues shouldn't happen but it would be more understandable if they were busy. There were only 2 other tables with only 1 pizza order from each... There were 2 delivery drivers standing around... so they weren't busy at all. 8Inoticed there are some reviews that also call the service into question. Maybe ours wasn't an of night.... Is it the norm for this location?

Panda Express 0

This Panda is a well oiled machine as far as teamwork and moving through the busy lunch period goes. Everyone very good at staying on top of who's doing what, making what, ringing up what... 🙌. Food was great as usual.y first experience not picking up food to go. But because it was busy and I only saw 4 employees cranking through at a fast precision pace, the tables or beverage machine area needed a little cleaning. All easy to overlook and I'm sure they would get to it. Love the Honey Sesame Chicken and the Angus Steak. I ALWAYS round-up for charity, and you should, too!

The design of this location is pretty poor considering how much traffic they get. Which would make sense why they would put priority on all the walkins instead of people who place orders ahead online. It took a half hour for my family meal to be ready, while I watched countless customers come in and order very large orders and get through the line quickly. Kind of defeats the purpose of an online order, and if I had known it would take a half hour before I made the online purchase, I would have gone to a REAL chinese restaurant, paid the same, and waited less for better food. I ended up sitting in the worst spot in the restaurant while waiting, which was the back by the bathrooms. The bathrooms here might actually be a safety hazard and I would strongly suggest that management get in front of it before people start getting sick, because the smell alone reminded me of C-Diff and was enough to ruin my appetite. Who knows, maybe its the plumbing, but whatever it is will keep me out of this location forever going forward. They were also completely out of hot mustard. Kudos to the staff for putting up with the madness that is this location. Really unpleasant experience.

Just moved to the area and thought we would give it a try. My wife wanted Moo Shu Chicken but I was told that they no longer offer it. Settled on cashew chicken and some chicken fried rice. When I went to pick it up, I was kind of grossed out by how dirty and dingy the place was. If the front of the restaurant is dirty, I can just imagine what the kitchen is like. No excuses for a dirty restaurant! Food was very bland. Needless to say we won't be back.

I would give them 4.5 stars, but since that's not an option I'll give them 5. Just moved into the area & on the hunt for our go to places. Found China Garden. It's a nice family owned & operated business & we always like supporting those being business owners ourselves. Pros: Homemade egg rolls that had great flavor. Good Sesame Chicken, Fried Rice, & Lo Mein. Cons: Not my favorite dumplings, but that doesn't mean they weren't good. Everything was made fresh to order, and overall had good flavor. It always takes time to get used to a new restaurant, because your used to the precious place & how they made their food.
