Riverside Pizza & Pub - South Elgin
Well this is funny, didn't realize I came here years ago and never got seated! lol I finally did. Anyways service was great, food was really good and so were the martinis. The pretzel should come with a warning. It's a JUMBO pretzel. It was really really good. Loved the pizza, very tasty. Will definitely come back! It gets jam packed in there. The decor is awesome and the bathrooms are really pretty.
Okay, so we went to Riverside for lunch on Saturday around noon. Right off the bat, we could tell things were gonna be a bit chaotic. There was only one waiter working, and he seemed super overwhelmed. We had to wait like 7 minutes for him to even acknowledge us because he was busy taking orders from other tables. Once we finally got seated, I knew this wasn't going to be a smooth experience. They completely skipped asking how I wanted my burger cooked, which is a major red flag. We started with the nachos, and honestly, they were a bit of a mess. Some of the chips were burnt, and the toppings weren't evenly distributed. The burger itself was decent, I guess. Nothing to write home about. But the fries? Oh man, those were a disaster. They tasted old and definitely had been reheated. And just like the nachos, some were burnt to a crisp. The final straw was the kids' Mac and Cheese. They used nacho cheese! Seriously? Who does that? Overall, we were pretty disappointed with our experience at Riverside. The service was slow, the food was inconsistent, and some of it was just plain bad. I wouldn't recommend it.
Sushi Café Tl inc
It's a smaller place but was pretty busy. Lots of pick up door dash orders so it took a long time for our sushi to come out. Wasn't bad, but definitely not the best I've had. Presentation was good.
I don't leave many reviews but... 1. This place is banned and gets a ZERO from me! 2. Where's my chopsticks? Oh, I'll use my hands. 3. Where's my napkins? That's OK, I'll use my shirt. 4. Where's my soy sauce cup to mix the wasabi in? Oh, here's a soy pack for ya and I'll mix them together in my cup holder. 5. THIS WAS $30, WHAT!? I would've gave them $16 and tip on to have good service. 6. Don't ask me how it tastes either... Because BLAND. 7. This place has fallen off and I have eaten here several times. Don't waste your money here and go elsewhere! 0⭐'s
Coronado Mexican Kitchen
Up until a week ago, this was my “go to” Mexican restaurant in the Elgin area. I recommended it to everybody I know. We have easily been here 50 times and I have catered food for my work from this restaurant several times & really big orders. On Saturday, 7 days ago, it left a very bad taste in my mouth to the point where I am not going to return here. I placed an order online where they were offering free delivery. My order should’ve been delivered at 9:30 PM. The restaurant called me at 9:31 saying they don’t have drivers and can’t deliver my food. So after my husband had to go pick up our food, I had requested that they reimburse me for the tip that I gave for a driver who didn’t deliver my food. When my husband picked up the food, they reassured him that the manager was going to call me and refund me, THEY DID NOT. I went in there again on Tuesday, in person, Asking for a refund and they said the manager was going to call me. I explained to them about my wrong order and the tip that I need reimbursement for and left my phone number again. NOTHING. It is now Friday, no call. Not to mention, by the time my husband got to the restaurant, picked up the food and brought it home, the restaurant was closed. I had ordered a ground beef chimichanga and cut into it to find out it was chicken. No recourse. So now my husband was eating my dinner for lunch for the next two days. And it’s really sad because I’ve eaten here 50 times and they’ve lost a very loyal customer over a $16 tip and trying to make my meal right. ***** Shame on you Coronado’s!!! 😡
One of my favorite Mexican restaurants! The food is great & the vibe is perfect! Spacious interior makes it great for parties & larger groups. I always get the table side guacamole & I'm always glad I did. Excellent margaritas!
