Aodake Sushi & Steak House
Very delicious from the soup to the salad to the actual food! The food was delicious but then again I love food anyway but the flavors are delicious definitely coming back here to try their noodles! I had lobster and salmon! The staff was very friendly, attentive and efficient! Make sure you make a reservation it gets busy we had a party of 20 and definitely accommodated us very well! As soon as you walk in you smell the deliciousness in the air Bathrooms are clean! We also had a birthday and they sang and got ice cream which was very nice
Highly variable food. Had my bday early September on a Saturday and our cook and the food were out of this world! Tender steak, most notably. Monday 9/23/24 our chef was lovely but the steak was tough as rubber. My lobster was over-seasoned. It's a pricey place where you'd better get a good return on investment. Sadly that's a crapshoot.
Poke Bros.
Mostly a take out place but they do have a few tables if you want to eat it there. Went here on a whim passing into town waiting for our son to finish his day at the college so we could pick him up. The food is fresh, and there are some great options to choose from if you aren’t sure how to make your own. We had the Hula and Shaka. We enjoyed both very much. The lady and guy were very nice and efficient. The restaurant was clean. We would definitely go back.
EDIT: I found out this location charges $0.75 more for poke bowls than ANY other Poke Bros in the area. Where do you get off, Romeoville??? -_- Poke Bros is good. The build your own poke bowl is the way to go (get the half-and-half with salmon & marinated tuna). The selection of mochi is mind-boggling....at last count there were 15 different flavors to pick from, including purple ube, espresso, passion fruit, and Earl Grey! Definitely recommended.
Sushi Train Japanese Restaurant
The ambiance here is romantic and perfect for date nights, with an intimate and charming atmosphere. Food: We tried the Cupid's Arrow roll, a delightful combination of lobster salad, scallops, crab meat, and their special sauce. It was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. The Dragon on Fire and Godzilla roll were equally impressive and did not disappoint. Drinks: I tried the red sangria, which was strong, flavorful, and well-balanced—a definite highlight. Price: While the prices might be on the higher side, the quality and unique flavors make it worth the splurge. Downside: The only letdown was the wasabi sauce. It tasted cheap and didn't match the high quality of the sushi. A more authentic or premium wasabi would have made the experience flawless. Overall, this is a great spot for a special night out. It's highly recommended if you don’t mind splurging a little!
Favorite small sushi restaurant! I come here for the quality, warm atmosphere, and reasonable prices. Thar Tokyo Sandwich is one of my favorite menu items. They also have bento box and Sushi lunch specials.
Ruby's Burritos & Pancake House Romeoville
I think this place is extremely solid and actually good quality. I will be honest though … I’m not a fan of the $1 charge cause I paid with card. I’m not a fan of the menu prices online being completely different from in store. I don’t think you can buy anything here for $10. You will be the price range of $13-$16. So is it affordable? Not in my opinion but hey everyone is raising the prices nowadays but it does make me feel some type of way. Still good food and great customer service.
The owner seems really nice but this is just judging the food and the food is not authentic or good in my opinion. Meat is not really steak steak like authentic Mexican restaurants would serve arrachera(skirt) or similar, they take the shortcut here and use like cheaper bistec and it's in like little pieces and sort of tastes like ground beef. For 3 dollars a taco I feel robbed. The Al pastor doesn't have much flavor and the rice was probably the worst of all. The beans were fine and did taste good. They serve so many different things like burgers and breakfast that i think it works against them and they need to focus on making they're main dishes aka the Mexican food better. Overall would not eat here again especially when taco dale is down the road and they are really good, meat is skirt steak and they're more authentic in my opinion. Of course try it and judge for yourself.
Thaiway Thai Cuisine
We came into Thaiway Thai Cuisine a bit late, but the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Jeed went above and beyond to accommodate us and made sure we were taken care of. The service was warm and genuine, and even though it was close to closing time, they still made our food fresh and with care. I ordered the Thai Style Chicken Noodle Soup and the Combo Platter—both were flavorful and satisfying. Great experience overall. Highly recommend this spot if you’re looking for authentic Thai food and excellent service!
The food was amazing! It came out so hot and fresh! I got the Pad Thai lunch special, with hot sour soup + eggroll, and crab Rangoon and Thai iced tea. Ms. Jeed (hopefully I’m spelling her name correctly) was so sweet and pleasant and we had a wonderful conversation about Thailand. I will be back!
Panda Express
Went in for a quick food since i dont want to cook nor make anything. Ordered Teriyaki Chicken and Honey Walnut Shrimp. The manager or whoever it was said it will be couple minutes so i said ok i’ll wait. Next thing i know i went home with out a “honey walnut shrimp” Welp i guess ending this year with a 1 star review. Will not ever order in this place 😀 It takes 5 seconds to double check things.
Today, I ordered the 3 entree meal, with only Orange Chicken. As the server was scooping, I noticed she was being very skimpy. I asked for more and was rudely told she wouldn’t do that. The amount of chicken would barely cover the overflowing carton of rice I was given. Both the rice and chicken were cold. The orange chicken was burnt in places, there’s not enough sauce to mix with the rice to make it not taste like paste and it was rubbery, like it had been sitting most of the day. I wasn’t given utensils or napkins. Definitely will not be back.
China House II Restaurant
I probably won’t be back. I was in Jewel and in a rush so I ordered from the closest Chinese restaurant. I ordered a large combination fried rice w/extra green onions and bean sprouts. They just threw a bunch on top instead of mixing it in. I didn’t realize I had to ASK for that. Once I mixed it up myself the taste was just ok. Nothing special and not better than my usual place. The service seemed great. It was busy and the cashier seemed to know everyone picking up take out. With several people in line before me, I only waited a couple minutes.
Excellent food! This is the only chinese Restaurant that has fresh, hot, and extremely great Chinese food! We have had various dishes here, which are all excellent! Including the milk teas. My wife and I love the fried tofu with governors sauce with water chestnuts and scallions as a garnish! (Optional) Thank you china House!
Little China Restaurant
I ordered my kids and myself the orange chicken and the kung pow chicken lunch special with the egg roll. It was absolutely amazing and perfectly seasoned in a nice huge portion size container that my food came in “ I’m so excited and happy to have A True Authentic Chinese restaurant within miles of my home everyone I highly recommend this restaurant if you are looking for A Absolute Superb Asian Cuisine Thanks Mr Ming We Appreciate You 🙏
Overfilled lid with sauce and it went through the paper bag. The Mongolian chicken was 80% onions and barely any chicken. Photo shows how much onion was still left after eating the few pieces of chicken.
