New Pot Restaurant
Good experience. It was busy, but we got our order fairly quickly. The food was hot and delicious. Pot stickers were perfectly crisp, the fried rice actually had flavor. Will be back for sure.
I came here with my mom today for lunch, and we were both pleasantly surprised. We liked the cute atmosphere ,the cleanliness, and most importantly, the food!!! We got the lunch specials! It includes an appetizer/soup/main meal. It was a great price for great food!!! We will definitely be back here again soon.
Katy's Dumplings - Oak Park
Gonna be quickš Cons: - From jump, the staff did not acknowledge our presence when we first stood/waited by the front desk (and there were about 5 staff members right there). - For a place named Katyās Dumplings⦠we were disappointed as the dumplings were underseasoned, the dipping sauce was salty and tasted of pure soy sauce. - The Thai Iced Tea was alright (not quite sweet enough for me). Pros: - Food came to the table quickly! - The entrees (General Tsos & Sesame Beef) were okay. - The white rice was cooked perfectly!
If youāre in oak park I would definitely check out this place. We ordered the orange chicken (which came with white rice), fried chicken rice, and fried beef dumplings. I wasnāt fan of the fried dumplings because their regular dumplings are so much better. However, the flavor of the beef was delicious. Did I mention this place is byob? And they donāt charge a cork fee.
China Cafe
Food was amazing. Had the cashew chicken and added snow peas. Was so fresh and so many veggies added. Egg rolls were great along with the governors meal and garlic shrimp. Definitely our new favorite Chinese restaurant!
Sunday Was carry out only. š„”š„ Great selection of CHINESE food. Unique dish selections. We ordered the sesame almond chicken, egg rolls, honey mustard chicken, sweet biscuits and crab Rangoon. š¦ Everything was delicious and freshly made.
China King
Food was decent. Service was very good. Wanted to post full pics of the menu because I couldnāt find the appetizers in any other review and they donāt seem to have a website.
I ordered Singapore Chow Mei Fun ę擲ēē±³, and was pleasantly surprised by how flavorful and authentic it was. Didnāt expect to find this here in Penn Yan
Iyitho Chinese Restaurant
Have nothing but good things to say about this place! I have been craving chicken chow mein for literally the last 6 months and was so happy that this was a spot I finally got it ... I also ordered the chicken broccoli and let him know it was for the next day. He told me he would make it with less sauce so that it didn't get soggy for when I was eating it! It was also cool to know that this place has been in business for 29 years! This is a classic hole in the wall, amazing food joint! Huge portions for a great price. The chicken is all breast meat and the meals were not oversalted. I don't eat a lot of Chinese food mostly because it is Americanized, salty, oily food but I 100% will be back here!
Fast, hot, fresh and delicious! The Kava Bowl is homemade! I listed this as other because I have supper, not dinner.
Lucky Buffet
Overall I enjoy this place, my wife and I go there about 1-2 times per month. Food is decent, prices are decent and atmosphere is pretty much what one would typically expect for Chinese buffet. HOWEVER I have two complaints: 1- it's air conditioned year round and it's like eating in a meat locker. And 2- lately they've come to the table with the check about 20 minutes after we sit down, barely enough time to finish a meal. We are not people who eat plate after plate after plate of food. Both myself and my wife take two moderately filled plates of food at most. Typically when a restaurant brings the check to your table it indicates that you have reached a point in your dining experience that is nearing completion. I can't help but feel like we are being rushed to eat and get out when the check arrives 20 minutes after you sit down. It's rather off-putting. Will I still eat there? Most likely, but maybe not for much longer if I continue to feel like my dining experience is being rushed and cut short.
I went for take out at almost closing time. They were low on a couple of items. They offered to cook me an entire pan worth, just so I could get a scoop of the product. (Only take 2 minute) I didn't make them. The white rice was gone so they packaged me up my own box of white rice. They saw me struggling with my containers and soup, and cane right over and offered a hand and carried and packaged it for me. Super helpful and kind.
Plum House Japanese Restaurant
An enjoyable experience, good food, great serviceššæ
First visit to Plum House, and we thoroughly enjoyed it! I was skeptical before going, thinking this was more of a Sushi spot, but we were pleasantly surprised to find a wide assortment of other offerings that include Hibachi style items such as steak, chicken, and shrimp, which is really what we all were looking forward to. The inside is small but comfortable, and nicely decorated. Prices are reasonable. Service is excellent. Parking appears to be primarily on the street. Will visit again. RECOMMENDED. š
Five Spice Kitchen
I have a thing for lunch specials at Asian restaurants. You know those combos with the soup, eggroll, choice of rice AND the main dish. Often, theyāre grungy places with foam plates. Iām telling you 5SK has a small but tasty lunch menu with all the above fixinās! The eggdrop soup was good to the last drop. The eggroll was perfect with what seemed like house made sauces. Main dishes were abundant, not swimming in oil, and well seasoned. Order it spicy and you get š¶ļø! Taro boba was also delicious! And all modestly priced! Support this local business! And if you eat in, the place is CLEAN!
I came in yesterday and ordered food to go. I also went up and ordered a Boba drink to have while I waited. I got the mangonada. The drink and food were delicious. I got the beef broccoli and the beef was tender and every piece of broccoli was cooked all the way through. (Every other Chinese restaurant it seems to be hard to find) My husband got the happy family chow fun and the only note he had was it could have used a tad bit more sauce. We also shared pot stickers, gyoza, and crab ragoons which were great. The customer service was wonderful. Everyone asked if I needed something and what the order number for my food was. I'm honestly not sure why this place wasn't packed it's such a cute restaurant inside!! Super clean. Update: I've been here a few times now for lunch and dinner and the ratings still stand
