Tong's Hunan Restaurant
I got a cockroach on my plate. I went back to complain and they offered new plates. As I got handed the new one ANOTHER COCKROACH in another plate. I can’t imagine how filthy and disgusting it is back there . They didn’t even bother looking at the plates before handing it over. Disgusting in every level.
You can definitely depend on hot, quality, Chinese dishes at Tong's. I've been going here since the mid 90's. I am a big dumpling/pot sticker connoisseur and this place has the best around bar none. I am also a big fan of their chicken lettuce wraps. All the other dishes such as the kung pao, hunan beef or chicken, vegetable stir fry etc hit the spot as far as flavor goes. I definitely recommend this place. Give it a try.
Maharaj Indian Grill
Service was thoughtful and impeccable. Milton our waiter was great! Food was fresh and tasty. We had the Maharaj grill for 2 at such a reasonable price. Rogan Josh and Dal were great texture wise, just needed a bit more depth to the flavor. The tandoori chicken and tikka fish and chicken were average but fresh.
It was okay. My expectations might have been high, but the Tikka Masala tasted like tomato soup, and the "Naan Basket" that our waiter basically forced us to order was not good. We wanted garlic naan. Not stuffed or unlevened naan. The butter chicken tasted like overly sweet bolognese sauce, and the chicken had dark meat, which I am not used to, and that was not mentioned anywhere on the menu. The chicken Tikka was fatty and had tendons. The only thing that was good was the biryani. The whole experience was just a bit disappointing.
Once Upon A Deli
Another "Once Upon" spots and first time at this one! Pictured here are their bagels for the day, and their Corned Beef Sandwich (on Rye Bread with mustard, and a pickle slice). Generous amount of Corned Beef as well as mustard. Not pictured here, but also grabbed a couple of whole tomatillos. Both pickles and tomatillos are seasoned perfectly. Steady flow of customers (regulars and first-timers) coming in and out. Friendly service here like other locations. A "Once Upon a Grill" is also in the same plaza.
I’ve been a happy customer coming here for many years and never had anything I didn’t enjoy. The food here has always been served fresh and delicious! I particularly would recommend their soft bagels and many cream cheeses as well as the Matzo Ball Soup (pictured) and the Gourmet Everything Flatbread Matzos. The Mish Mosh soup is also delicious! My go-to for authentic Jewish cuisine! They’ve earned my highest recommendation and so glad they survived the pandemic.
