Ho Ping Garden
Ho Ping Garden and Sushi Bar is a true culinary treasure and absolutely worth the drive! The lunch specials are unbeatable, offering a fantastic variety of flavorful dishes at an incredible value. The crispy egg rolls are a perfect start, and their crab Rangoon is some of the best I’ve ever had. My personal favorite is the garlic chicken! It’s always bursting with rich, savory flavor and cooked to perfection. The sushi here is phenomenal, too! With an in-house sushi bar, everything is freshly made to order, ensuring every bite is absolute perfection. And of course, no visit is complete without their warm sake! It's the perfect pairing for such a delicious meal. We even cross state lines from Indiana to Niles, Michigan, just to enjoy the exceptional flavors at Ho Ping. It’s not just dining; it’s an experience you’ll want to repeat. Highly recommend!
We had the Michiana roll, Rainbow roll, Ocean roll, and Ho Ping Special roll along with the Ho Ping fried rice. Hands down THE BEST!! VERY fresh!! Great flavors! Ooh!! And we had the sampler platter. We will definitely be back!!
Tang Korean Restaurant (탕 한식당)
We have been to this restaurant 3 times within 3 months. One of my favorite dishes at this restaurant is the ox bone soup. The BEST! This type of soup if you cook it at home, so much work and take so long (at least 6-8hrs) to get a clear milky broth. We love the Bosam and Jokbal. The restaurant is modern and clean. The service is excellent. I highly recommend this restaurant Food: 5stars Service: 5stars Price: $$
We had an amazing dining experience at Tang Korean Restaurant last night (12/9/24). We ordered the $169.99 option, which included: - 10 pieces of chicken wings - Seafood pancake - Boiled pork trotters - Spring-mixed noodles with vegetables - Bossam - Budaejjigae Every dish was absolutely delicious, and the flavors were authentic and rich. The portions were incredibly generous—although the menu says it’s good for 3 to 4 people, it was more than enough for our group of 6 adults The staff was wonderful, especially our waitress, who was so friendly and attentive. She checked in on us regularly and made sure we had everything we needed, providing exceptional customer service. Tang Korean Restaurant is definitely a gem! The food, service, and atmosphere were all top-notch. I highly recommend this place for anyone craving authentic Korean cuisine. We’ll absolutely be back for another great experience!
Hot Wok
We have not eaten here in 2 years. And it was great. We went in and ordered it was ready in 15 minutes, and it was worth it. The food was hot and freshly made. I got the sweet and sour chicken combo, and my husband got the Happy Family. The inside of this place is very run down and not for a sit-down meal.
Haven’t ordered from here in awhile. Ordered broccoli and tofu, 2 orange chicken lunch orders and wings. Received black pepper tofu with mixed vegetables, pork fried rice instead of steamed rice with the orange chicken and the wings were the small flats and drums or something weird. We had to go back and they did correct the order but, the person that takes the order over the phone needs to be trained again or actually listen to what is being ordered. Orange chicken was good, tofu and broccoli in brown sauce was good, the black pepper tofu was ok. Fried chicken was flavorless. We did not receive the soup that comes with the lunch menu but at that point we just decided to not even bother. Not a good experience overall but will try again. Will not call order in though.
Dosa & Biryani Corner
Worst food I’ve ever had. Ordered: Veg Hakka Noodles Received: Maggi with egg and surprised to see noodles with cilantro garnish Ordered Veg fried rice, the rice is spoiled. Do not recommend it at all.
I ordered chicken fry piece biryani. The chicken was raw( not fully cooked) and has lots of added color. The waitress there usually clean the tables with bleach and use the same gloves to serve the food and that too , her fingers are in contact with the food especially dosa. There was a small tea spoon on my table. I asked for a serving spoon for biryani , the waitress asked me to use the same tea spoon which was lying on table , which was cleaned with bleach. The waitresses here are not mind-full of not mixing the bleach in food. The ambience is fine but even the restaurant is empty the waiters deside where you sit . May be thats the process they follow but when all tables are empty it feels a bit odd to me .
Omega Restaurant & Bakery
What a great dining experience! Even when busy, the wait staff is friendly & bustling to serve you! The prices are very reasonable & the dessert case is amazing! All the food is made fresh upon ordering it! I only wish we lived closer.
This was one of the best meals I've ever had. Fried calamari was amazing. Perfectly crispy, had the legs and everything. BBQ bacon cheddar burger was better than the best burgers I've had in Texas. Came with fires that must have been fried in beef tallow. Everything about my experience here was above expectations. This is literally my new favorite restaurant.
Himalayan Restaurant Niles
I had dinner with my friends and it was also my first time trying Indian food. Rice was refilled and the chicken was well cooked , also the sauce was delicious. I got the Tikka Masala chicken and also the Garlic Pita , you can deep the pita in the sauce.. delicious 🤤 I recommend this place 100%
Very mediocre and disappointing food. Veg steamed momos were insipid / tasteless and gooey. Disappointed from the Momos honestly. Chicken Seesh Kebab was above average. Veg Biryani should have been called Veg Pulao and not Biryani. Surprisingly they did not have Veg Chowmein in the menu. Service is below average, waiters are frustrated. Don’t go there unless you really have to.
Manna Restaurant
They have decent tteokbokki and tonkatsu. I remembered loving their tteokbokki combo which I last had years ago, which is served with some gimbap and soondae on the edge of the bowl which you can dip into the sauce. And the wax display of that dish was pretty tantalizing. I was so disappointed to find it was falsely advertising the portion, however. The wax display shows the tteokbokki bulging out of the plate's bowl divot, while what I was served was only half of the bowl's capacity. I know inflation has hit everyone but this really rubbed me the wrong way. The food itself was tasty and hit the spot, but this was my second worst experience in the H Mart food court. (Do NOT order naengmyeon from the neighboring stand that offers it, you will be sorely disappointed.)
Apparently there are several Manna restaurants around the Chicago area. This one is in the food court of the super store of Hmart grocery store. Dine in or carry out dinner or lunch after doing your grocery shopping at Hmart. Tap below on thumbs up. 👍
China One
Love the beef and broccoli without mushrooms. I also get the pork fried rice but that could use a little very light sauce added to it. Just my preference. It's good as is and I buy it. I put a little of the beef gravy on it and I like it even better. Food is good, place looks clean. I recommend it!
Absolutely sensational! China One is a gastronomic masterpiece that sets the standard for excellence in every way. From the moment you step through the door, you're greeted with an elegant atmosphere that effortlessly blends traditional charm with modern sophistication. The staff is nothing short of impeccable—attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, making every guest feel like royalty. Now, let's talk about the food. Every dish is an absolute work of art, crafted with the finest ingredients and prepared to perfection. The flavors are bold, yet balanced, each bite bursting with authenticity and creativity. Whether you're indulging in the velvety sweetness of their famous Crab Rangoon, savoring the delicate crunch of their Egg rolls, or delighting in the exquisite depth of their signature Lo Mein, it's clear that each dish is made with the utmost care and passion. The presentation of the food deserves a round of applause—each plate is like a beautifully composed painting, a visual delight before it even reaches your taste buds. The menu is diverse, offering something for everyone, from traditional comfort food to more adventurous choices for the discerning palate. The attention to detail extends beyond just the food and service. The ambiance is warm and inviting, making it the perfect setting for any occasion—whether you're wanting take out for an intimate dinner or hosting a celebratory gathering. And don't get me started on the customer service! Without a doubt, this restaurant is a shining star in the culinary world, deserving of every accolade it receives. From the exceptional service to the unforgettable flavors, it's a 10/10 experience across the board. A must-visit for anyone seeking an unparalleled Chinese meal experience!
Arvin restaurant
Perfect little spot to enjoy some good food. I came in with my friend for the first time, not knowing what to get. Not sure the names but the food was absolutely delicious. Decent price for big portions. The service was amazingly and super friendly. Definitely give this place a try.
This place is super minimalist, they use plastic tables and chairs and the service is almost non-existent. The fried beef dumplings are pretty good but the noodles aren't really my thing, kind of a wack combination of flavors.
What A Dumpling
If you’re checking the reviews to see which spot is best to eat at I recommend you give this place a shot. I’ve tried almost every spot outside of the chicken spot in the front and I have to say that what a dumpling is by far my favorite. Reminds me of my grandmas and mother’s food. Homemade dumplings and the broth tasted great. It’s a complete different texture compared to the frozen ones. The Noona that worked there was great as well and I observed that all the customers that ordered from there were satisfied as well. When you see empty plates and bowls you know that’s a good sign. Support this business! :) I got the traditional one. No 7 I believe.
The employee that took my order was super nice. However, I guess I didn’t look carefully when I ordered. I got the triple dumpling soup that comes with no noodles. The triple dumpling soup comes with 3 traditional, 3 beef, and 3 kimchi. Dumplings were well made and did not taste like the frozen ones from a grocery store. In fact, the dumplings were very juicy and the fillings were perfectly cooked. It was very expensive for what I received. It’s about 3 for me, I would have liked to see at least a bowl of white rice accompany my meal. Since, the older woman was very kind. I’ll give this place a 4. Just remember, to order another dish if you do decide to get a dumpling soup.
Eggrolly and Sweets Cafe
Amazingly delicious!!! The chicken & jalapeno egg rolls as well as the Ube cupcakes are fantastic. I stopped in today and the customer service exceeded my expectations. I was instantly offered samples while reviewing the menu (that provided an array of reasonably priced items). The facility is modern and the smell of fresh pantries is comforting. I would definitely recommend this cafe.
It's our 1st time in Eggrolly and we were the only one's eating, we ordered pansit with chicken, pork bbq, pork shumai, Pepsi and sago gulaman. I like the pansit cuz the veggies are julienned but the pork bbq is somehow spicy for me ( can't have spicy foods ) I hope they'll have a choice of no spice at all :) the staff is very accommodating. They let us sample a special ube ensaymada with ube filling, ube topping with melted cheese, It's soooo good 🥰😍. We will definitely go back for more good food 🙂
Lai Lai
For me, this is THE best Korean-Chinese spot in Chicago. Sure, there are places like Yu's Mandarin, Chef Ping, Great Sea, Great Beijing, etc but they don't focus only on Korean-chinese food like Lai Lai do, hence in my opinion, Lai Lai serves the best Jajangmyeon and Jjambbong. Now, Jajangmyeon comes in many varieties, but most people aren't aware of the differences: Regular Jajangmyeon: All ingredients are stir-fried, then water and starch are added, resulting in a familiar starchy texture with added sugar or salt. Gan Jajang: Cooked with just oil, it tends to be more oily and has a stronger "fire" taste from longer stir-frying, often more salty. Uni Jajang: Ingredients are minced, so the dish lacks visible ingredient shapes and texture but brings out most flavor. Sam seon Jajang (precious ingredients from sky, land, and sea): Originally with expensive items like shrimp, abalone, and pork, now often substituted with squid and cheaper ingredients. Tray Jajang: Essentially +2 portions of Sam seon Jajang without the expensive ingredients. I mention this because in Chicago, there are very few places offering these varieties, and even fewer doing it well. No one specializes in it quite like Korea, and the closest I've found to matching Korean taste is regular Jajangmyeon from Lai Lai. I can also go on about Jjambbong and the chicken as you see on the picture but perhaps on another review...
This spot has some great dishes, but the standout for me is their gun poong chicken. Enjoy a plate full of drumsticks that are crispy on the outside and soft inside, covered in a spicy sauce and a side of rice. Be sure to ask for extra napkins.
