Hunan Wok
The food was very dissatisfying.. I ordered shrimp egg foo young and I was given brown sauce instead of gravy. That 4.1 rating on GOOGLE is a LIE. The food is not good at all
Not only is there food delicious, but I love that it’s a family run business. They always are so consistent!
Zheng Garden Chinese Restaurant
Can we give a 6 star? At the risk of sounding dramatic, this might be the best Chinese Food I have ever had in my 50 plus years on this planet. We recently moved to the area and ordered carryout from here. Everything was hot and absolutely delicious. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
This place came highly recommended but I’m not sure why. It was empty when I walked in - not strange for a Monday - and I placed a to go order for one veggie dish (home style tofu) and crab rangoon. It took at least 30 minutes despite an empty restaurant and for all that time, both tasted sub par. The staff was nice and cleaning a lot. Won’t be returning though.
Fortune Bowl
Love fortune bowl! House rice is the bomb, I love the "free" crunchy things they give you when you first get there, the best house mustard and duck sauce. Their veggie lo main is delicious, and pu pu platter is always great starter. Wonton soup had homemade wontons.
Just wasn’t for me unfortunately. Tried their Sesame Chicken w/ fried rice and Combination Lo Mein. Flavors were ok; noodles had a bit of good smokiness to it (like cooked on a really hot wok), but still a bit bland. Fried rice was a simple stirfry with soy sauce. Chicken was kinda chewy; not the usual crispiness I would expect. Plus side was the venue itself. Definitely one of the nicer restaurants with a sit-down vibe; not the usual to-go walk-in counters. So if you want to eat in, then it could be a good option.
Gum Wah Restaurant
I came in after I was discharged from hospital. I was looking very forward to having your food. The egg foo young was greasy and tasteless. The roast pork fried rice was a degree better but very gummy and greasy. The Rangoons were surprisingly delicious. Egg rolls were old thumbs down. I have been a customer for over 20 years.I wanted this dinner so bad.
This place is SOOOO GOOD. The customer service is great. They get you in & out. Very affordable. Well worth it. I went yesterday and was back again today, my family love this place
Panda Express
The quality of the food has taken a steep dive, especially around dinner time for some reason. The servers are generally very pleasant with the exception of one or two people. The meats are often tough and under seasoned. The entrees often look like they've been left to sit on the line for way too long. When they say they'll make fresh food for you they'll often use it to serve multiple drive through patrons before they remember that you've been waiting 10+ minutes.
I've been going here for years, and this place has always been solid. 👍 My job even orders catering from these guys from time to time due to reliable food quality.
Asian Grill
I have been coming here since I was 16, I’m 33 now. This is the ONLY place I will eat general Tso chicken. I have tried it in many places, none make it like here. They are a family owned business and literally the best in business. Everytime I think “oh they probably forgot me”, she always asks how my sister is and reminds me she knows exactly who I am!!! I use to order sooo much from the during my pregnancy that they know my neighborhood and even use to do special treatment with my drinks. Love love love this place. 100000/10
I’m not sure how anybody has a good experience. Mine was terrible. I spent 50 some dollars and got white rice instead of fried egg rolls instead of spring. The general sauces and the sesame chicken is nothing but nuggets dried up you not freshly cooked with sauce on them The garlic chicken I ordered taste like it might make you sick if you eat it And the portions are very small for what you pay for them
C. C. Wok
Came here with 20 family members for a birthday celebration. Everyone in the party thought the food was excellent. The server was very attentive and got whatever we needed immediately. I was surprised that we were the only ones in the restaurant but the atmosphere was perfect. We live in Short Pump but will certainly be getting delivery from here cause in our opinion this is definitely better than what's around where we live. Needless to say we highly recommend CCWok 👍
Quick stop after a long day....... review will be updated after 2nd visit. 40-minute drive to this location that was highly recommended. This was no disappointment. The food was fresh and delicious!! The staff called me when my order was ready for pick up (this was a first for me). The food is hot too. Shrimp fried rice, chicken & broccoli with fried rice. I ordered gravy, but they didn't offer the brown gravy, only the sauce from chicken and broccoli..... Personally, I didn't like this sauce, made my shrimp fried rice too salty. Order shrimp egg roll. They only have spring rolls, and they are thinner wraps. This was a take out and no photos..... Will visit again for sure!!
En Lai Restaurant
I grew up eating Gum Wah down the street … however En Lai is definitely one of my favorite Chinese restaurant to date! Food is always hot. The vegetables are always fresh. They have an awesome lunch special. The prices are equal to what you are getting in return and we believe they have fair prices. Today we had their general tso chicken, which is on the lunch special so it comes with rice (fried or white your choice) a can of soda and vegetable roll! The chicken is cooked to the perfect crisp, sauce on point. We also had the kung pao chicken. The sauce is spicier but too spicy. The chicken is not battered but cut thinly and is so soft and juicy. Mixing the left over sauce and vegetables which all the extra rice I have left was awesome. Super quiet insides but that how we like it :) sorry no food left to show it was too good
Great little spot for take out or quick dine in and relax so far my meals have been delicious. The sweet and sour chicken and red sauce is good. The tofu with mixed vegetables is absolutely delicious. The spring rolls are good and so is the egg rolls. The plain fried rice is ok if I wasn't cheap and added meat id be more happy but delicious food and we are back for second round now will update later.
New Peking
I purchased the lunch special shrimp fried rice. It was absolutely delicious. I just added bean sprouts and the spring roll was good. I never had a bad experience here.
We enjoyed lunch today at New Peking. The server was very polite and prompt. We enjoyed our lunch portion meals here. I had Hunan Chicken, and it was delicious. Also, I selected sweet and sour soup that came with it the price of main dish. This restaurant has a very pleasant atmosphere, and I look forward to returning!
Panda Express
Went by there today as soon as they opened since I thought it be fresh and let me tell you it was disappointing they either burnt or reheated the orange chicken from the day before. I’ve never had Extra Crunchy orange chicken couldn’t even use the fork to get into it. The Chow Mein and Kung Pao were fine!
I’ve always loved this location, but i don’t know what happened today that they served me a huge raw piece of chicken. I get it when there’s little mistakes like putting more cabbage than meat but a huge raw chicken is unbelievable, that can hurt someone badly. I called to talk to you guys about it but no one is answering and keep hanging up.
Wong's Express
My husband and I are still on our Midlo food adventure! We decided to grab dinner at Wong's Express. The restaurant was clean, and the service was prompt. Wong's has an extensive menu, so try to review it online. We dined in, but they were busy with online orders. The food came out quickly, and their portions were decent. My husband ordered fried scalloped for his appetizer and lobster fried rice and the scalloped dish for his entrees. I ordered the steamed dumplings and egg rolls for an appetizer and curry glass noodles as an entree. The only dish I didn't care for was the steamed dumplings. The dumpling was too thick for me, and I didn't like the flavor of the meat. We the curry noodles were delicious and flavorful, as well as the rice and scallop dish. We will be back!
Im so upset because we went there for the first time I got a meal for myself and chicken nuggets for my 1 yr old and ended up paying $30 for orange chicken that tasted horrible. I hate to be mean but it was alot of chicken big literally tasted like just breading barely any chicken inside
Yen Ching Hull Street
Went during a weekday lunch, very pretty decor and quiet atmosphere. Full drink menu was available, not just beer and wine. Started off with a hot and sour soup appetizer, which was flavorful and full of ingredients. For an entrée I ordered the happy family- beef, chicken, shrimp and scallops in brown sauce, with a side of fried rice. A huge heaping portion that I couldn't finish all of, and super delicious. The only two knocks for the meal were the rice- it wasn't exactly fried and just tasted like white rice that had been tossed in soy sauce or something? Still tasted fine, just wasn't really fried. The other thing being one of the scallops in the meal wasn't properly cleaned so it had gritty sand/ pebbles or something attached to it still. No big deal, it didn't ruin the rest of the food, I just avoided eating that one. It happens. My server was super attentive and sweet, food and drinks both came out quickly. Overall a great dining experience.
All we have had there is the General Tso's Chicken and it was absolutely out of this world delicious! Love the light breading, the sauce, and love love the fresh ginger in it 👍🏼
