Kim's Chop Suey
Inside of the store looks dilapidated that’s how you know the food is going to be good. Upon entering I was warmly greeted and my food was ready in 5 min. The vegetable fried rice was super delicious, the best I’ve ever had! The orange chicken was so good, I only wish the pieces were more bite sized but still really good. Great place.
This place used to be awesome about 10-12 years ago. They used to have the best fried rice and Sesame Chicken. The prices are cheap but buyer beware. It will destroy your stomach inside and out. I ordered the Orange Chicken today, and it tasted good. Less than 30 minutes later, I was then on the toilet. The fried rice that came with it was moist and it had no flavor because it was missing onion and egg. The egg roll was super salty. I called and the man's first response was "What do you need". My advice is to stay away. By the way the place is incredibly filthy and they leave their open sign on even when they are closed. They don't care at all. That's exactly who I don't want cooking my food. New ownership has destroyed this place. I hope they get a nice and thorough inspection. I can't imagine what the kitchen looks like.
Paik's Noodle Glenview
Delicious Korean food served fast. I’ve have eaten here at least 5 times and it’s always outstanding. The mayonnaise shrimp are delicious. The noodles are in a class of their own. The Noodles with Black Soy Bean Sauce are divine. Pop in and try this place, it’s worth the trip
I'm not familiar with Korean noodles or other Korean dishes besides Korean BBQ. Their flavors seem much more complex than those of simple ramen. I found the chicken wings and the other dish to be decent.
North Point Chopsticks
I love this place. I’m not sure why some of the people complaining get the most basic dishes ever. Chicken or shrimp fried rice? Kung pao beef? Boring! Their menu is enormous with a variety of dishes. Be a little adventurous and try something new. They have Chinese, Vietnamese, Japanese, Thai, and Korean. They also have boba tea and smoothies. Service was good, they were pleasant and we got our food fast. They also have sufficient seating for dining in. They have mammoth portion sizes so you’ll have leftovers to take home. The prices are very reasonable since you’ll have leftovers to take to work. It’s located by a Jewel so plenty of parking available. -pumpkin fried with salty egg 4 - first time trying this. I would recommend eating this with rice, that way the rice can help soak up some of that salt. -fish sauce chicken wings 5/5 - chicken was big and juicy. Fish sauce was a little subtle. I would have liked to have it more prominent. -sea eel and shrimp fried rice 5/5 - eel is cut into small pieces but good size shrimp. Fried rice had the right balance of flavor. -beef cubes with tomato rice 5/5 - large pieces of beef, fresh tomatoes, and rice was well seasoned.
I ordered veggie japchae, kimchi, and Korean veggie dumplings for pickup. The food came out fast and hot, fresh, and yummy. I really liked the japchae. The dumplings were deep fried which I was not expecting, I thought they'd be pan fried, but they were tasty. I'd come back here to try their other items.
Jibek Jolu Glenview
If you haven’t been to Jibek Jolu yet, let me tell you—you’re missing out on something truly special. This is hands-down one of my husband’s and my favorite restaurants, and for good reason. From the moment you step inside, you're greeted with warm smiles, an inviting atmosphere, and a feast for the eyes (and stomach!). Let’s talk about the ambiance—it's absolutely stunning. One painting on their wall was so mesmerizing, I actually reached out to the artist they commissioned! The decor is a perfect blend of cozy, traditional and feels like you are in Mongolia 🇲🇳 making it a great spot for date nights, gatherings and even weddings (I love seeing all the couples having their mini receptions here). But the real star here is the food. Oh, the food! Everything on the menu is a winner. Seriously, you can close your eyes, scroll through the menu, and point to anything—it’ll be amazing. That said, I do have a few personal favorites: ✨ Mushroom Soup: Comforting, rich, and full of flavor—this is the hug-in-a-bowl you didn’t know you needed. ✨ Bread with Egg: (I can’t remember the name, but trust me, you’ll know it when you see it!) Warm, pillowy bread with a perfectly cooked egg—it’s a dream. ✨ Chicken Tabaka: Crispy, juicy, and seasoned to perfection. A must-try. ✨ Meat Tower: Yes, you read that right. The steak is so tender it melts in your mouth like butter. Need I say more? A quick heads-up for my fellow cilantro-averse friends: let the staff know if you’re not a fan or have an allergy. Some dishes feature unexpected cilantro touches in glazes or marinades. But that’s the only “gotcha” here—everything else is pure perfection. In short, Jibek Jolu is a culinary treasure. Whether you’re a seasoned foodie or just someone who loves a great meal, this spot will not disappoint. We LOVE it here and can’t wait to go back. Do yourself a favor—go now and thank me later! 😊
Soup was good, bread not good quality, the meat was tasty and water taste from the sink. Service was nice the wait is kind of long depending how full the place is and they have music after 6:30 pm on Sunday is when I went the hostess so nice and respectful the same with the miss waitress. The place is nice !
Kyoto Garden Modern Japanese Restaurant
Kyoto Garden was overall an enjoyable sushi night for us. The Poke Salad was well sized for two people & everything tasted very fresh. A very minor complaint is that the dressing was a bit watery & as such all resided in the bottom of bowl versus spread all over the various ingredients. The sushi rolls were good. Once again, a minor complaint, it would have been nicer if a bit more of the unique sauces central to each one was used or present on the plate. Presentation was good, flavor was good, & service was good. The only thing I can't recommend is an Old Fashioned cocktail, the drink showed up nearly clear & no where near how an Old Fashioned should taste. We will most likely visit Kyoto Garden again and hopefully, they will have perfected their art in all forms. Overall, I'd say 4.5 stars & very close to the last .5 if they can perfect the tiny flaws.
The service was so friendly and excellent! The food... pretty stellar, what we had. So fresh, so crispy, creamy, flavorful, and completely mouthwatering.
SGD DUBU SO GONG DONG TOFU & KOREAN BBQ
We specifically drove here just for the tofu hot stone soup, and it did not disappoint! The tofu soup was amazing—rich, flavorful, and incredibly satisfying. The entire experience at SGD was great, from the friendly service to the cozy atmosphere. I have to say I love their small dishes!!!The restaurant is located in a plaza with other great Korean food options too, making it a perfect spot if you’re craving authentic Korean flavors. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a fantastic tofu soup and an overall excellent dining experience!
We went to this restaurant a Saturday night randomly because we were doing grocery shopping nearby. The place was pretty big and there were quite a few people waiting in line. But we didn’t have to wait too long because service was super fast. We both ordered the tofu soup and I love how you can customize it. Our dishes came after like 5 minutes after we placed the order, and they tasted pretty good. The only thing was the soup was a bit salty. A nice place to have a causal stone bowl of soup special when it’s cold.
Valley Lodge Restaurant
Went to the Valley Lodge Tavern. We ordered some very nice drinks. Martini was well made. My wife enjoyed her wine. The waitress was welcoming and very nice. Great place for drinks. Sadly, I have to say the food was substandard. My friend ordered the Shrimp Scampi and I ordered the ribs. Note: we were very surprised at how small the order of pasta was that came with the Shrimp Scampi. It seems like a side dish. Also the food had very little taste and seemed overcooked and kind of rubbery, especially ribs. Might want to talk to the cooks on that... However, the waitress was outstanding. Lastly, the atmosphere was wonderful, people seem very happy to be there.
It’s was a cool spot. The food was great. I had their salad paired with a red wine of theirs. Severs were on it. The semi-outdoor seating was nice and then I spent some time at the bar. Great service there too.
Chinatown Kitchen
Nov 24 2024, I’m searching for some good Chinese places nearby after my dash, and this restaurant was nearby and I’m starving crazyyy. So, I ordered chicken fried rice and an egg roll (classic combination). And then I went to the woods nearby to have my lunch. The food is good, why I’m saying this is because when you eat some good food cooked good to its maximum capacity, you’ll really feel the first burp. Good experience 👍😊 Complementing the chef with my empty bowl ….., thank you 🙏
The food was thrown together. The rice was missing all the regular ingredients. No eggs, no bean sprouts , no green onion. The cut up yellow onions very big. It was chicken fried rice, all the chicken was on 1 side. The fried chicken was brick hard and the crab Rangoon was horrible. The egg roll was the only good part of the entire lunch special. Oh the beef satay was extremely tough and chewy. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone!!!
Szechwan North
It been a while since last time I have visited, whole different team and I am glad that they finally got someone who can smile while servicing. The kitchen now put different thought on the dish that I always recommended, salt and pepper shrimp! The way they deal with shrimps makes the texture and presentation of this dish completely different from other Chinese restaurants. As a person who only care about foods, I am looking forward to find more surprises right here.
The Fresh Whole Fish Fillets in Sour Pickle Broth at Szechuwan North is phenomenal! Delicately cooked with fresh fish and perfectly seasoned broth, each bite is packed with rich, savory flavors that are both comforting and bold. If you’re looking for a standout dish, these noodles are a game-changer!
Panda Express
Just check the pic and ask your self who made this meal, can you eat it ? Literally only onion I can see
When someone says, "Let's grab some Chinese food."I don't think they're thinking of panda express. At least I hope they're not thinking of panda express. The food and service is mediocre at best. There was an extremely nice and attentive African American woman, but the rest were kids, and they shouldn't be running a restaurant.
