China House
I’m not much of a regular and i came in asking for a small pork fried rice with general tso chicken. The lady working the front asked “oh the platter?” which I responded yes. Then i asked for a shrimp roll in which nothing else was corrected. She charged me 19.57, again I don’t know how much stuff is there since I’m not a regular. Turns out I got the platter with an egg roll, a shrimp roll, and an extra small rice. With no correction, no explanation, and after calling to explain the communication issue, there is no accountability and in fact saying it’s on me. They don’t say the full deal, everything is inconvenient, but it’s always them who gain? Money grab!
The smallest wings I ever had and where’s the rice? This is what they sold smh I would never go back to this place you can see the bottom of the tray this little bit of rice I can’t believe this lol
Thipi Thai Restaurant
Elephant Thai in Glen Ellyn is a great spot for authentic Thai cuisine. The cozy ambiance is welcoming. The staff is friendly, but the food! The menu offers a wide variety of dishes, including classic favorites like Pad Thai and Green Curry. A standout dish is the Massaman Curry—aromatic, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. So good! Basil Chicken was also phenomenal, great spice level and flavor. Elephant Thai also caters well to dietary preferences, offering plenty of vegetarian and gluten-free options. The portion sizes are generous, making it great value for the price. Overall, Elephant Thai is a fantastic choice for a casual meal, a date night, or even takeout. Highly recommend it for anyone in the Glen Ellyn area looking to enjoy delicious and authentic Thai food!
Something has changed recently and not for the better. I was excited about the fancy new web site, but it didn’t translate to the kitchen. My Rama noodles were sticky and bland. The exactly 4 pieces of broccoli and 4 red pepper strips didn’t improve the situation. There was nothing spicy about the spicy Basil eggplant. It was bland as well. The salmon panang curry was just ok, likely the best thing we had. Did the owners change? This has always been the Thai restaurant I send everybody to when they ask where the best Thai is. Not sure if this was a really bad night or if this is the new normal. Darn!
