JuRin
I expected the food to be delicious but no, the cook fried rice was too salty and oily, my friend and I ordered medium rare steak but the cook cooked it not well, the taste was salty . The first 2 margaritas were very good with salt on the rim of the glass but the last 2 had no salt on the rim and the taste was more sour than the first 2😖 It made me very disappointed because we drove 1 hour there and 1 hour back with bad taste of food. I want to tell the owner that your food tastes salty. If you can reduce the soy sauce a bit, it would be good. I only gave you 2 stars for my service, sorry, this is the truth.
Second time visiting this place and I have to say that it is okay. This time I got the filet mignon and scallops. The scallops disappointed, they lacked flavor. The meat was tender and flavorful, the fried rice was delicious but the veggies were overcooked.
Woow Sushi
The food is so delicious. The service was perfect. I got 2 signature sushi rolls they were fresh tasty crunchy everything good. Shrimp tempura appetizer was fresh and crispy. My boyfriends human shrimp was hot and yummy. My boyfriend also loved the seafood soup all the ingredients tasted well together.
I recently visited this sushi restaurant and had a great experience. We tried the Fire Roll and the King Kong Roll, both of which tasted delicious. The appetizer portions were huge, which was a pleasant surprise. While I found the decor a little strange, the service was absolutely top-notch. Overall, a great place for sushi lovers!
Jiang's Mongolian Grill
Everything here is, as usual, top-notch. It is not all you can eat. However, you are offered enough food to be filled. I love the selection here, and service is always great.
I cannot praise this place more, the food is incredible, the people and service is top notch, moderately priced but you get quite a bit of food for the $17 bowls. We used to live in Schaumburg and went to a place called Big Bowl, this is similar but better. Try it, you will not be disappointed, we will be back, many more times.
Lao and Thai Spicy Noodle
Small affordable place for Thai and Lao food, won't break your wallet. Warning on the door about spicy food but not too spicy. Food has great presentation, look delicious. No complaints if in the area I would come back.
Absolutely loved this little gem! My sister and I stopped by for a weekday lunch, kind of on a whim since it’s close to her work. Small spot, seemed like it was run by just two people, but they really put their heart into it. We ordered the red curry with rice and spring rolls, plus the Pad Thai noodles with tofu. Everything was freshly cooked, and you could tell the chef took his time to make sure it was just right. The food came out piping hot, which was perfect on what felt like the coldest day in Chicago. The flavors were incredible—authentic, comforting, and exactly what we were craving. I’d 100% come back next time I’m in the area. It’s a cozy little place with great food and genuine care. Highly recommend!
Silver Lake Chinese Restaurant
I ordered delivery from here for the first time tonight, Egg Rolls and a Curry Chicken. In the notes, I requested extra hot mustard packets and no sweet & sour or soy sauce packets. When I opened my delivery, I saw this note on multiple receipts, but there were no packets of hot mustard at all. I was really disappointed but thought maybe it was just an overlooked request. Then I opened my Curry Chicken and was shocked. The menu states the entree comes with a curry sauce, potato, carrot, and onion, but the "potato" in my meal was all french fries! Using frozen french fries changes the texture and taste of this meal, making it absolutely disgusting. This kind of lack of respect for the food they're serving is shameful. I recommend staying away from this establishment.
The food really really good.! Food was hot at delivery.
Culver’s
Culver's has some of the best food and customer service around! We also like how they employ special needs individuals. Thank you for supporting this often neglected community!
We go here often and have never had a bad experience, but tonight was a different story. My husband went through the drive thru and ordered, but was continually cut off and told to "hold on a second". After he ordered, he pulled up, and received less than half of what we ordered. After they brought out another part of the order, he had to give his credit card again because the drive thru taker didn't charge him for all the food. Every person he interacted with was incredibly rude. Another teenager brought another part of our order (which still wasn't complete) and he asked where the other fry order was. He was told he'd have to go back through the drive thru. I worked the drive-thru for Culver's when I was a teenager (20 years ago) Any of this behavior would have gotten me fired on the spot. I'm sad they've gone this badly downhill.
Kobe Japanese Steakhouse
One of the decent sushi places in the area. Weekends can get crowded with long wait times for both hibachi and AYCE sushi. Highly recommend going there early! Staff is friendly. Lots of parking. Fresh sushi.
I always love this place. Hibachi is always amazing to see. Even the salad and soup at the beginning is outstanding. But my personal favorite thing there, is the Yum Yum sauce. Also, the teriyaki chicken is one I would recommend!
Little Panda Chinese Restaurant
AVOID this restaurant at all costs. It was our first time going there and we will never ever go there again. The egg rolls were sour and had an unpleasant taste. The broth of the wonton soup was overly salted, and tasted like it came out of a can. We ordered three soups, and all of them were also only 2/3 full. The rice was yellow Spanish rice, not fried rice, and was undercooked and actually crunchy. We later noticed that a few other reviewers said the same thing. Please see the pictures below. In addition, after spending over $40, I asked for my free item, as the menu states, and the woman at the counter told me I could get that next time. That is not honest. There will not be a next time. We do not like to give bad reviews but in this case we have no choice.
I wanted to love this, unfortunately the food was not up to par. The Crab Rangoon’s were stale. The Mongolian beef was 80% mushroom, 10% onion & 10% beef. The only thing keeping it away from a 1 star was the chicken fried rice had good flavors.
Old Republic [Kitchen + Bar]
I visited this restaurant from NYC. All food, and I mean all food we ordered tasted really good! Including the Belgian waffle we got. One of the restaurants servicing authentic belgian waffle. Will come back again next time to try other offerings!
It was girl's night out and Old Republic was our first choice. I had been meaning to go there for awhile and never had the time. This seemed like the right time. The atmosphere was cool. The crowd was building up for the band. And we were ready to eat. I had a Berry Nut salad. It had fresh mixed greens with strawberries, dried cranberries, candied walnuts, goat cheese, avocado and sliced boiled egg topped with warm juicy, sliced chicken breast, with berry citrus dressing and warm pita. I'm not a fan of berry citrus dressing, so I had the basil dressing instead. It was a very refreshing salad to end the long work day with friends. I'm dying to go back and try the Whiskey Shrimp and Naughty Nachos. That looked very appealing. The Ensalada Quesadilla looked inviting also. If you are into fresh, mouth watering salads, Old Republic is the place to go and they have great live entertainment outdoors as well. It was well worth the trip.
The Village Squire (South Elgin)
Great place with delicious food and friendly service! The cozy atmosphere made for a nice dining experience. Everything was well-prepared, and the staff was attentive. Definitely a spot I’d visit again!
Have been here before and it is a favorite. The pictures show a mushroom Swiss burger and a Reuben. I show the sandwiches in a box to show how large the sandwiches were that we could not finish them entirely. Besides that they tasted great and cam out fresh from the kitchen. Service was excellent and my tea was never empty. The only thing I can say is the chili was a bit heavy on the beans but it tasted great so that would be not picking a bit. The menu is huge and sure to have something for everyone.
A's Cafe
Not what reviews say. Spring rolls were not in rice wraps. No plum sauce just packets of hot and duck sauce. We had to ask for plates. Spring rolls and egg rolls arrived on plastic baskets. Annoying slot machines. Final blow...we got Lipton green tea bags with jot water in a beer mug
This place is gross. My husband said the guy that works there is really nice, but other than that the food is awful. The fried rice isn't fried rice at all....its bright yellow and the meat in it is sooooo gross, not seasoned or anything, pretty sure its just plain boiled pork. The crab Rangoon is bad too, has a very funky taste. We won't be eating here again, save your money.
East China Inn
Great service, the majority of the times I've been there. The menu is packed with many choices. Very generous portions. The bar is knowledgeable. Rather, your drink is from 40 years ago till now, they got ya! My favorite is Singapore Rice Noodles. And no, I don't have a picture. I ate my dish too quickly to take a picture.
Wonderful tasting food. Great customer service.
