Chan’s Garden Chinese Restaurant
I found this place last week and ordered the Beef & Broccoli. It was delicious! The beef was tender, and I don't know how they do that. I ordered from them three more times last week, and they're consistent—each time, the food was just as delicious. Tonight, I stopped by on my way to work and ordered the Beef Chop Suey (see pic). It tasted just like the chop suey I used to get as a kid growing up in Addison, IL. There was a place on the corner of Mill & Lake, next to Milly's Pancake House. Anyway, I ordered the small size, but it’s a full plate, and there was more in the container. The price is very reasonable too. You can go to that fast food place with the girl with the pigtails, get a single, fries, and a drink, and it costs more than this. This place is awesome! Fyi: I've order the Beef & Broccoli twice and Beef Chop Suey 3 times. I'm curious about the Szechuan Beef, however. I'm a simple man.
Quick takeout. Don't do it often but it happens with kids... Food is not bad. Interesting part is they sell pottery, chairs, and furniture.....
White Pearl Restaurant
I honestly don’t know why this place doesn’t have greater reviews! The food is AMAZING. Not too heavy or oily, so fresh & flavorful. The boiled fish I had fell apart- so tender & moist, the vegetables were cooked perfectly- not at all mushy but not too crisp & the sauce that came with the egg rolls was light- not sticky sweet like the majority of sweet ‘n sour sauces that usually come with your appetizer. The hot jasmine tea was the perfect way to relax while we shortly waited for our food. Officially my new go to place even though I live 30 mins away!
Everything we ordered was spectacular, we also ordered the chicken wings and the beef pad see ew. It’s a little divey inside, but we will drive the 30 minutes to eat here again no problem. Just know that if something claims to be spicy on the menu, they mean it.
Elgin Buffet
We were looking online for a Chinese buffet and decided to try Elgin Buffet. It was our first time eating here. There was 5 of us and we all enjoyed the variety of different foods. The food was delicious and fresh.I didn't see any empty pans. They were always filled. The manager was very kind .The service was very good,as our dirty plates were removed from our table promptly.I would have to say this was our favorite Chinese buffet in the area and we will definitely be coming back.
Most sauces and seemed watered down or lacking flavor. We were there while it was busy, so food was continuously replaced. There is a large selection of seafood. I can't personally comment on it, but I was told it was just ok. The space is small and a little dark, but our large table was sat fairly quickly. Plates were picked up frequently.
ZAAB THAI
We ordered several items and they were delicious and authentic. First, spicy kha-moo soup, basil fried rice, zabb Thai sausages, salted fish Thai sausage fried rice, papaya salad and kra-por-pla soup, everything was amazingly delicious. My favorite was Thai basil fried rice with fried tofu, it might sound simple but not one thai restaurant had done it right. We asked for Thai spicy which was a good heat! We lived 40 mins away but it’s worth it! Zaab Thai is my prioritize Thai food!
Such incredible food! You would expect quality and flavors like this from a 5 star place in downtown Chicago. Fresh ingredients you can taste, everything made from scratch, every detail well thought out. The fried-ground catfish will live in my dreams. How it's crunchy and juicy and so flavorful is mind-boggling! The basil duck was excellent and on the spicy side, the salted fish and crab fried rice was delicious, the real crab in the crab rangoon was awesome, and the fried taro was the potato replacement you never knew you needed! Grilled calamari tasted deliciously marinated and was cooked to perfection. The thai iced tea was a treat, and so was the ice cream! A very quiet and very clean establishment. Excellent service and a great place to bring the family. Highly recommend and we will absolutely be back to try more!
