Mian
This place has a pretty good ambiance. The service was excellent and it was super quick. The shrimp & chicken fried rice was delicious. Kung Pao chicken was ok. The dumplings and the rolls were great! The drinks menu for cocktail options were limited and tasted OK. Overall the food was ok and the service was excellent!
Nice rather small Asian restaurant inside the newer section of rivers casino. Service was excellent and attentive. The food was very good amd fresh. We had the pork rolls, pot stickers and main entrees with dessert. Atmosphere impacted a bit because it is rather close to the gambling and on the smaller side.
Cid's Ma Mon Luk
Amazing food and service! Lechon kawali is perfect and nostalgic
this little place serves legit authentic Filipino dishes that are very tasty. They have a fairly large selection of dishes for a small place and they even have grocery items. we had bangus, crispy pata, ampalia with pork, and sizzling beef. All were delicious. Dining in is cozy but everything on menu can be ordered for take out.
Bangkok Belly Des Plaines
My first time going ordering from this place. I am very disappointed. Food wasn’t that tasty and the lady was on the phone just chatting out loud, never ask me if I needed anything. As I was ignored I took time to look around… yikes!!! Walls, pictures frames and light fixtures had so much dust on it. This place needs a good cleaning. Eating area had some of there kitchen supplies stack up as storage. Never will I order from place👎🏽. It’s sad, we need a good Thai restaurant in the area. Des Plaines
I know this will spark debate, but I wanted to try pineapple with my fried rice, so that's what I did. The flavor of the dish is spot on; it has savory notes from the curry powder, sweetness from the pineapple, and nice, but there is a few aspect of it that I don't enjoy. The pork and chicken were dry and difficult to eat. I just hope I don't get sick because of the one piece of pork that had a sour aftertaste. The pineapple was undoubtedly canned because some of the slices had a strange flavor and some were sweet. Their dessert, which came in two portions of banana sticky rice, is the one thing I enjoy eating. It's a simple but tasty dish made of sticky rice with a fresh banana filling and wrapped in a banana leaves. The sticky rice was fragile and gooey at the same time. The banana filling was tender; it also had an undertone of sweetness. The texture of the bean is somewhat solid.
China Wok
10/10. Food is amazing. Has the chicken fried rice. Portions are HUGE and prices are great!!! Great staff; friendly and more than accommodating. Food is delicious and tons of options. Will be back without question. If you’re looking for quality, quick, cost conscious AMAZING FOOD - come and give this a shot. You won’t be disappointed
I had their food for the first time a few days ago and loved it! My father knows the owner Ken, and asked for a simple but good vegetarian meal for me. He prepared fried rice, white rice, steamed assorted vegetables, and a brown soy type sauce. He confirmed there was no oyster sauce in it, as I have a shellfish allergy. The food was great. Rice was good and filling, veggies were cooked nicely & evenly, and the sauce was very tasty. I will definitely go back for more meals here! Thank you for a tasty vegetarian meal!
Wonton Gourmet
Normally I get the Sweet and Sour chicken here cause I like it so much . Tonight for a change up I went with Singapore Noodles and a side of Rangoons. Lots of positive review for the noodles. They were spot on. The noodles were great. Very tasty. Shrimp, scallions , peppers, beef, egg and noodles. Not spicy but has a great flavor. Portion almost enough for 2 so good value . If you want something good to try and you look noodles order this dish! I know I will order it again for sure!!
For me one of the best Chinese restaurant. Maybe is not fancy but food is very tasty. I recommend beef stew noodle soup. Soup is absolutely the best.
House Of Szechwan
Great, hot, fresh food. Authentically prepared. Old school atmosphere. Over the last few years, this place changed hands and took a beating from reviewers. All I know is I've continued to come throughout their transition and today at lunch was the best I've had. Accept their niche and you'll agree that they earn about 5 stars. Massive takeout biz sometimes gets in the way of the dining room, but not today at lunch. Oh, and the lunch specials are bountiful and served till 3pm. Beef Almond Ding, Fried rice, H&S soup included. Worth adding a traditional egg roll. Prepared, seasoned and rolled perfectly. I'm a sucker for pot stickers and the fried didn't disappoint either. I'll come again... Before 3:00, and enjoy a feast.
After three years, I returned to this restaurant. If the service was terrible then, it is dramatic now. The waitress serving me and the kid not only speaks very little English and didn't understand the order, which is why she simply made a mistake, but the stupidest thing is that since she brought something different, she offers it to me so that I can eat it... that's comedy. And the best part is the ending when, when presenting me the bill, the staff is so pushy about the tip that it makes me feel uncomfortable. For heaven's sake, who works there??? As for the food, it is not of the same quality as before, and to be honest, I am erasing these restaurants from my list, and I really like Chinese cuisine, but definitely not here anymore.
Orange & Chicken Des Plaines
The best Chinese food I’ve had in Chicago. The flavor is amazing, the portions are big with plenty of protein, and it’s delicious, cheap, and filling. The service is top-notch. This will definitely be my favorite spot for Chinese food. You won’t regret visiting!
I had the orange chicken special for lunch, which is coated in batter and covered in a crimson sauce. I believed I had the wrong item. The sauce was decent; it reminded me of ketchup because it was both sweet and acidic. However, the sauce's tint wasn't what I was used to. Due to the sauce and moisture interaction, the chicken lost its texture. Although the fried rice was simple, I was startled to see chicken chunks in it. Though the pricing and portion were excellent, the food is not up to pace.
Dung Gia Restaurant
This is the most classic mom and pop store that serves the most generous pho. I really don't know any place where you can get a combination pho for 12 bucks. Also, there are very few pho places that serve with chicken broth, instead of beef. Here you get the cleanest broth, hint of sweetness from thinly sliced onions. This is the spot where I come when I have a hangover or want clear, white broth, or I dont want to be bothered with parking in viet, town, or city. There are times I crave beef broth pho, where it's more savory, beefy, and spice, then I go to different spots. Any other occasion, I come here. Their fried rice is kinda weak and small, and they haven't really tried main dishes. But their springroll and banh mi is solid, again great price. Highly recommend pho 38 and spring roll, pork banh mi. The appetizer picture in this post is #19, it was okay. Sometimes you get served by kids, sometimes parents etc. Not sure what these other reviewers want more from mom and pop store.
I had been eyeing this eatery for a while now, but what drove me to try it out was that my coworker had recently returned from Vietnam and couldn't stop praising how amazing the food, so I decided to have lunch there. The ambiance makes me nostalgic, with a wonderful calming Vietnamese melody playing in the background throughout the area, which has a charming decor. All of these factors make me feel at home. As an appetizer, I started with a beef roll. Marinated beef, bean sprouts, lettuce, and rice vermicelli noodles make up the filling. It's encased in a translucent rice paper skin. They also gave fish sauce as a dipping sauce because the roll tasted bland without it. The only thing I don't like is their meat. It had a mild flavor and was dry. The appearance is unappealing and reminds me of beef jerky. My entree was their pho dac biet. It was served with garnishes of bean sprouts, lime, jalapeo, and cilantro on the side. I believe their broth lacks a strong beef flavor and scent. They also omitted to include tendon, which is generally included in all pho house specials. The meat-to-noodle ratio is inconsistent because I ate more rice noodles than beef. As an addition to the pho, I ordered banh mi thit bo nuong. The bread is good and flaky, but I wish they had toasted it a little more. I prefer my bread to have a great crust. I enjoyed their onion pickles since they really bring out the acidity and sweetness. The beef was prepared in the same manner as the appetizer, which disappointed me much and compromised the flavor of the sandwich. Their service was prompt, and I received my meals in a timely manner. Customer service, on the other hand, requires some effort. I felt rushed at first, and before I could finish my order, she snatched the menu away. She barely came over to check on me. I don't agree with their business practices. I get the impression that they cheap out on the ingredients in order to save money. I recognize that food prices are high, but there must be some standards.
Nomads Mongolian & Asian Food
Used to be my favorite Gamja Tang place amongst all the Korean restaurants. The restaurant is now owned by Mongolian. While they still have Korean dishes and still good, there are Mongolian dishes too. Nice addition of variety and they taste good too.
Mongolian cuisine in America, Nomads offers several delicious dishes that bring a taste of Mongolia's rich culinary traditions to the table, so yummy and cannot wait my cheat days. I will order Huushuur for my kids birthday ...
Euro Grill
From a visit back in May. Wanted to introduce a friend to Balkan food. Delicious and accessible in the suburbs. Only wish that the menu specified what sort of meat is used for the ćevapi so there is no mystery
Very delicious Albanian, Bosnian, Turkish style food ! We got them mixed grill, meat platter with bread, and it was delicious. Highly recommend the Turkish coffee also.
Big House
There was not much to praise about the interior. The furnishings are plain and simple. The furniture is clean and well-maintained. It also makes me feel at ease especially first time coming here. Due to unforeseen circumstances, I had to adjust my original entree order of their yook gae jang to bool go gi dup bob. The thin, tender slices of beef were combined with mushrooms, scallions, and white onions. Its flavor is weak, but its texture is perfect. Luckily, a complimentary tiny side dish was included to go with the meal. I liked that it gave the bland beef more taste. Since the side dishes are provided at no cost, feel free to ask for a refill. It came with a mildly flavored soup on the side to wash it down. The food was served hot at my table, which I appreciated, and the service was prompt. Although they could do better at paying attention, the personnel was polite. Although the food is average, the price is affordable. I hope to return and sample more of their dishes. It doesn't seem like the food I ordered did justice and that’s why I want to give them a second chance. Thank you for the meal.
Cozy Korean restaurant. Big House in Korean means something like older relative's house. The menu has items you would find at family gatherings. Looking forward to coming back.
New Tasty Cuisine - 国潮
Great portions for take out . Salted pepper shrimps was flavorful. Vegetables was mild and still crisp . Sweet and sour chicken was good, chicken wasn’t crispy by the time we got back to the hotel . Hopefully we can dine in next visit .
Thank you for opening back up!!! Our family missed your food so much!!! Shrimp stuffed chicken, Thai style shrimp, braised pork shank, shrimp stuffed crab claws, fish fillet and tofu!!! All my favorites and party size portions were huge! We will be ordering again for mother day.
