Pride Sushi and Thai
Located on Peterson Avenue in West Ridge, which becomes quite congested at times, the location is necessarily ideal. However, once inside, this place feels welcoming and service is very good. Presentation of their food items are also quite impressive. Flavors, however, were inconsistent at best. Ramen noodle in particular reminded of a packet one would purchase at a grocery store. Beef salad, while it looked pretty, was nothing more than sliced flank steak on bed of lettuce. Little more variety of vegetables would have made it so much better. Overall, it is a nice place in an area that could use good restaurants.
Everything was really good. The reason for only 4 stars instead of 5 is the fact that I ordered sushi and it wasn't cut all the way through. I'm traveling and in a wheelchair, I bought the sushi so it would be easier to eat on the go. Just made life difficult and killed the experience.
Chai Asian Bistro
Update!. New owner which means new recipe. I tasted it today, it's plain no flavor wheres the tamarind sauce, not a balance of meat to noddle ratio, noddles pasted together, minimum vegetables. I asked for extra spicy. Did not follow instruction orders. Paid $30 for 2 lunch special thinking it was the original owner. Sadly back search for a balance of flavor spicy and sweet pad Thai. Don't taste the love!. No longer my favorite place. Delightful athletic pad Thai, had chicken shrimp. Also their fish is delicious too. I'm a regular now.
I just went to Chai Asian Bisto last night for dinner with my cousin who visited from Austin, Texas. We are Thai and I have to say the foods there were beyond our expectations, we had chicken satay, chive dumplings, Pad see ew, Lad nar and Boat noodle soup with extra beef balls (not in their regular menu). My cousin was very happy to eat delicious authentic Thai foods in Chicago and we definitely will go back there again.
