We had a great lunch! Used the kiosk to read the menu and order on our time. So much to read! Large portion sizes! We couldn't even finish our lunch. Excellent taste. Fresh and delicious!
The bibimbap is good and generously sized. They give a lot of rice in it though, I wish that there were more veggies/toppings in comparison.
Golden Dragon Restaurant
Been going here for years. Even through COVID this restaurants quality of food has never gone down. Have tried 10+ dishes on the menu and all of them are fantastic! Personal favorites are their sushi, Singapore Mei fun noodles, and Shrimp egg rolls.
I order here quite often and everytime the food is 10/10. They are extremely consistent with the quality and taste of their food, I have yet to be disappointed with anything I’ve ever gotten. (The pictures are what we ordered this time) California rolls, Philadelphia rolls, Godzilla roll, Tiger roll, Crazy Tuna roll, pork fried rice, beef lomain & the beef egg foo young. The sushi is always extremely fresh and delicious. The pork fried rice has a really decent amount of pork & veggies mixed in, and the beef egg foo young and beef lomain both have a very good amount of beef in them. I highly recommend this place, anything you get will be delicious.
New China
Chinese restaurants no longer deliver. You have to use GrubHub or DoorDash. Both companies are horrible. However, New China uses real orange in their Orange Chicken. That's worth it right there.
Not impressed. Rice was not done, chicken in dishes very dry like several days old .Appeared to be chicken leg meat as had some sinew in it and hard pieces from over cooking or refrigerated and reheated. Broccoli in dishes undercooked. I give it a two because the egg rolls were ok but not the best I have had in town. I would not recommend this restaurant. This was our first visit, the one that really counts.
Zhangliang Malatang Champaign 张亮麻辣烫(原GG BOWL)
One of my absolute favorite spots in town! This restaurant offers an incredible selection of flavors for Malatang and Malaxiangguo. All the ingredients are laid out beautifully, allowing you to pick exactly what you want – from meats to fresh vegetables and noodles. The ingredients are always super fresh and the broths are rich and flavorful. Whether you're craving something spicy or mild, there's something to choose from.
I've never been to a restaurant like this, and not in a good way. In terms of value, this was at the bottom of the list from literally every single restaurant I've ever eaten at. There was nowhere to park, I was forced to pay two blocks down the road to park my car. They charge $15 a pound and I swear they weighed the bowl or something without zeroing the scale. Very little food, somehow came out to 2 pounds. It was $30 per person, so $60, plus tax. Rice was a $1 upcharge. They charge you an additional fee if you want to pay with a credit card (pass the expense off on the consumer). Cash payment will lower your bill for obvious reasons. They still ask for a tip if you pay with a credit card on top of all the additional charges. The service here amounts to responding to a vibrating token, then you go get your food at the front counter. When you are done eating, you carry your dishes and place them into a receptacle that houses them. The total bill for 2 bowls was almost $70. This is the only restaurant I've been to where I lost my appetite in disappointment at purchase. The value here is lacking. Also, when you are picking your food, you use tongs to touch various red meats and fish, then you use the same tongs to touch vegetables and tofu later on. There is cross contamination galore and you will definitely experience the results later on when you make it to the bathroom. I will never return to this restaurant ever again in my life.
EVO 重慶
We prefer takeout from EVO any day rather than the P place. The EVO dishes change every day?!!! EvO just tastes better and is a really good value for the lunch special plates. The staff are as friendly as expected, generous on serving sizes, and fast.
The foods are little too oily and salty here. But concerning the price and portion and flavor, can’t ask for more in tight budget.
Szechuan Taste Champaign LLC
We were just visiting the town to pick up our child from the camp. We were looking for a typical college town Americanized Chinese food and found this one on the street. The outside looks hip and it sits between the trendy bubble tea shop. Make no mistake, we had a great authentic Chinese flavors here. We ordered Beef Noodle, Bang Bang Chicken, Combination Friend Rice and Pan Fried Flat Noodle with combination meat. All four of them were so very delicious. They also have Panda Express type of cafeteria style order, but our cook was made to order and ingredients were very fresh. The price was a bit higher than what I would expect from a meal in a college town, but the portions were so generous. Definitely recommend it!
Delicious Chinese food with generous portion size. I would definitely recommend scrambled egg with shrimp.
Cao's Hot Pot
Food is fresh, soup bases are super flavorful. They have a wide variety of vegetables, meat and noodles. The owners are so sweet and very accommodating & attentive!! They have a nice little selection of fresh fruit and desserts.
Excellent food in a friendly, family-like atmosphere!! The food was fresh and served with care. The broths were delicious! Awesome flavors! You can tell they take pride in their business! One of the best hot pot restaurants I’ve been to in Central Illinois!
Oozu Ramen
My favorite part of the experience is the atmosphere. The big bowl of fake ramen in the front, the wall decorations, the lanterns was just so beautiful and so much to look at! Never ending eye wander. I got the vegetarian ramen and my hubby got the curry ramen and both was delicious. Ageshi tofu was tasty and the fried calamari was just OK. I didn't really like the sauce. Broth was delicious and noodle was great. One thing I noticed is that they kept refilling our water which I love. Sometimes the servers never refill my water and I have to ask but not this place. None stop service. Everything was great. Will definitely come back for some more delicious ramen!
I came here hungry for some savory Ramen and left pretty disappointed. I ordered the Tonkatsu Ramen and was sorely disappointed by it. The broth was weak and flavorless and the noddles were just okay. The eggs were really good but that's not good enough for a $16 meal.
Pho Noodle Station
Food was good, we had Pho, the only problem was we got mildly sick after eating. Not sure why, everything looked done and the flavor was good nothing was off putting. Service was really really great. Our waiter was super nice. The meat was some of the best I've had. I do agree with other reviews that the broth was a little bland compared to other locations I've been. But this is a solid place and I'll likely come back again.
I usually love pho station but today’s take put experience is quite disappointing. I ordered take out for lunch, they originally said 10-15 minute wait but kept me waiting for almost one hour, then handed me the wrong food. I ordered eye round steak beef slices for my pho but got meat balls. I didn’t get the bean sprouts, the jalapenos, lime, nor the pot stickers . Imagine starving after a whole morning’s work then had to wait for an hour for wrong food…🥲🥲🥲
Kung Fu Tea
Good place to hangout with friends. Provides games too. Good ambiance and quick service. One of the good boba places in town.
This is one of my favorite places in Champaign. Great food and bubble tea, but pricy. Their food quality is great. We ordered a customized sushi burrito and sushi roll, and both were awesome. Our favorite thing was the crispy tofu. The drinks were also good, but even with the 30% sugar they were very sweet (some of the drinks have pre-added sugar so keep that in mind). As for the price, for the 2 drinks and 3 food items it was $50. Even though it is a little expensive for a college town spot, I’ll still come here weekly because it’s delicious.
