New Golden Dragon Restaurant
First time trying this place. When you sit down they offer you drinks but also tea and the tea was very good. The crab rangoons were average. The Mongolian beef was good, almost a little sweet. The green bean chicken… the chicken was good and the sauce was good but the green beans were over cooked and limp, no crunch how I like it. The staff were nice and overall I had a pleasant experience and would recommend trying it.
We placed an order for take out. When we unpacked the food, we realized that one of 3 main course dishes was missing and the other one was the wrong item. I called the restaurant right away, explained the situation and politely asked for refund. Instead I was told that since we paid with a credit card, they can’t give us the credit back since “their system doesn’t allow it”. I said I would be ok with either cash or check refund, but was refused by 3 people including the manager that I spoke to. We understand that mistakes happen, but refusing a refund for wrong and missing food was totally unacceptable!
Chinn's Chinese Restaurant
Reviewing it as a seafood place. Chinn's Seafood could use some heavy improvement. Entering in, you can tell it's a hole in the wall. There's seating but it's only if you're waiting for the meal. I had the 1lb seafood order of flounder and mussels, each with a different sauce. They both came with maybe one quartered potato and two quarters of corn - there's a heavy portion of seafood which is always exciting to see, but it's quite unfortunate when the food falls short from a lack of seasoning in the food itself rather than its sauce. I wish the mussels were cooked a little longer. That would have helped pull that extra mound of meat off easier. The sauces themselves were not finger licking good either. The garlic butter sauce was weaker than Papa John's included butter sauce, if that shows anything. Some parts of the dishes were seasoned well, others not as much. For today's spice level, I had mild and medium, both of which felt the same. I guess I'll try spicy next time. Like the mussels, the flounder was about what you can expect. It felt like the fish wasn't seasoned before breading, and the expectation is that you dip the fish into the seasoned sauce to enjoy. It was strange to not see the flounder in other parts of the Chinese entrees in there as well. The broccoli was a nice touch, but it all comes down to cutting the quality of the dish by prioritizing speed. Upsetting. Edit: Also, don't bother getting their coupon from the website. You can guarantee yourself a stale set of dry, sketchy technically edible wings that were pulled out of the fridge and reheated for service like I did.
This has become our “go to” place for carry out. Some reviews here are out of date. This is not a seafood restaurant. Excellent traditional Cantonese, including shrimp, with a few Mongolian and Schezwan dishes. I do phone or online order, live nearby and leave right away, yet order is ready when I arrive or within a couple of minutes.
Samarkand Cafe
"Suraya provided truly exceptional service - her kindness and attentiveness made our visit truly special. The food was absolutely superb, with authentic flavors that shone through in every dish. This is a must-visit destination for anyone seeking a genuine culinary experience. Highly recommended!"
I recently visited the restaurant Samarkand. My friends and I came for lunch, ate, and we ordered plov and kazan kebab. And samsa. The samsa was amazing. You definitely have to come back for the samsa. We also tried the kazan kebab. Unfortunately, the potatoes in the kazan kebab were not well seasoned. But the potatoes were still good. The meat was great. Then we also got plov. The taste of the plov wasn't very good. The oil they used might have been old, or the plov just wasn't fresh. We didn't send the plov back, but we hardly ate it. We also ordered manty. However, we had to wait a long time for the manty. We also asked our waiter to add boiling water to our tea. The staff tried their best, but they need to be faster, more attentive, and more caring towards the guests. We had to call our waiter again and again many times, which caused some discomfort. I would say that the food here is delicious. The prices are very reasonable, and I like the prices. I enjoyed the taste of the food, but the service could still be improved. I will definitely come back, if only for the samsa, which I really loved.
Taste of Tokyo
An amazing floating boat/conveyor belt sushi experience! The staff were so nice and checked in and interactive! All the food was delicious! Staff will sometimes make new creative dishes for you to try. Locals come in as well and the staff remember them! I highly recommend them!
Super friendly staff and atmosphere with wonderful food. Awesome option for those wanting to expand their sushi experience too as the little plates make it easy to try a variety of rolls without committing to a large portion. Everyone is very attentive, and they keep the atmosphere light and friendly.
Rivaj Indian Cuisine
I really loved every aspect of this place. Friendly crew, enormous space, yummy food etc.. The dosa varieties are so tasty and you can just stop eating till your tummy says so. Hope I will have the same good taste on my further visits. Worth the money I paid. Not sure how many are concerned about this, but during my last visit, I was impressed with the way they maintained their restroom.
Breakfast buffet here is amazing, every dish was authentic. Amazed by the taste of pesrattu (green mung dosa)
Sushi Grove
This is the bomb! AYCE - all you can eat!!!!!!! Go ahead and try the all you can eat menu. Note not every roll on the regular menu is available on the ayce menu. So many choices. One waitress running the entire restaurant and she did it fabulously. Amazed! 4-7 sushi chefs behind the glass wall quickly and efficiently prepared each serving. They definitely aim for perfection and come very close. We enjoyed shrimp rolls, California rolls, spicy crab….couldn’t bring myself to try the eel. Maybe next time because everything was soooo good! One note… on one set of rolls the seaweed wrap was not edible. Like rubber couldn’t even cut with utensils.
Visited this restaurant for the first time today. Usually I drive to Chicago downtown to have sushi. Service was great, our server was very friendly, attentive and polite. He had a smile on his face the whole time and was very nice. Food was ok, most of sushi rolls were falling apart as soon as you try to take them. What upset me the most is that on their menu they have gyoza and didn't specify it's pork. They should have written "pork gyoza", not just gyoza, because there is chicken gyoza as well. We ordered gyoza, thinking it is chicken, since it isn't specified that it's pork, and only after we got it and my daughter took a bite, we got a feeling that it isn't chicken, and when Incalled the server and asked him, he said it's pork. That is an important thing they should mention in their menu.
Yan Yan Chinese Cuisine
Avoid this place on Christmas Day. They can’t handle the to-go orders and a full restaurant of dine-in customers. My fiancé, her mother and I ate here in the restaurant on Christmas Day before seeing a movie. It took an hour and a half to get all of our food. Soup wasn’t hot. 45 minutes after ordering, the waitress came by and asked “what did you order, again?”. Not a good sign. Food came out staggered. Ate as food came instead of all at once. No white rice. So disorganized. So slow. Was a disaster of an experience.
Recommended by a friend and a favorite of another friend. Unfortunately, I was not impressed. My food temperature was uneven. Four of my cards were declined for payment, including not entering the correct expiration date and employee's refusal to split two separate payment cards and re-enter info. more. Food was mediocre. Definitely will not return and recommend.
Panda Express
Decent food and customer service. Just wanted to check out the Buffalo Grove location. Food was fresh and staff were welcoming as well. Fried rice took a bit of time to be prepared but understandable given that it is a newly opened one. Also, there were many drive through customers. But one of the staff was kind enough to check on us while we waited.
Came to support the new location! All the crew was so kind and really hooked up our plates. We came during the dinner rush around 5:30pm and our fried rice, chow mein, and orange chicken was FRESH. The interior is so cute and modern, the seating is comfy and clean. My new Panda spot!
Noodles and Company
Staff is very friendly. There was an issue with the app not applying my reward, and manager at arrival took care of my and gave me a voucher for something else next time due to the trouble. Only thing I noticed is the steak for the pad Thai is near to none & seems to be overcooked and chewy, so probably won’t get the steak anymore. I always have to order extra sauce or seems there is none.
The food here is always fresh, and the staff is incredibly professional and friendly. I truly love this location!
Fuji Thai
I can’t believe I found this little Gem 💎 in my neighborhood. We were looking for authentic, vegetarian friendly and that awesome real Thai taste. I have to say this is it. We had so much of a good time here. The food was great tasting and made properly. The chef took the time to cook it to perfection. We had warm welcome, the server was super nice, reached out multiple times to check on us if we need a drink or need anything else. This level of personalized interaction is something to be delighted for. The interior design is beautiful and even bathroom was extra clean. This will be our go to place and will tell all my friends and family to go check this out. Thanks Fiji Thai. Will see you soon again. Keep up your awesome friendly service. We loved it. See the photos I took and let the picture speak for themselves.
Place was clean. Service was excellent. Water was always filled. Food came out in a timely manner. Staff was really friendly. Food quality was good. Everything tasted fresh. Prices were fair. Portion size was generous. I would come back to eat.
Golden Durebak
Been here twice the food was not bad, but the portions are getting small and expensive, we had 3 main dishes for 2 and barely see meats
I went there today to get Galbi tang because they had good reviews but my gosh that was a big mistake!! As soon as I walked in it was very dark inside and no heat super cold on rainy cold day !!! We sat down and ordered Galbi tang which was so sad . I upload the comparison pictures Galbi tang from joong boo market and from here. First of all they only bit 3 small meat without the bone ! Only 3 piece of small meat and they don’t even bother too add clear noodles in the broth!! Also the broth was not hot enough and super watery nothing like hearty rich flavor! It’s not worth paying $18.99 dollar for that! I let the old lady know right away why only 2-3 piece of meat ??? Her response was Joong boo is a marker we are different we buy expensive meat and paying so much for it ???? Like what doesn’t even make sense!!! It was so uncomfortable sitting in a cold dark restaurant and food was rubbish !! Those old ladies are super shameless asking about more tips from the next table older couples and they asked are gonna tip??? From my boyfriend!!! He was so mad he left 20%tip with extra cash! Like so embarrassing and made everyone in the restaurant feeling awkward!! Even the old couples left angry!! You don’t ask more tips when you serve bad food with almost no meat !!!
Siam Siam
I stopped in while in the area for work. I ordered the drunken noodle with chicken and a Thai iced tea. Both were delicious, with the drunken noodle serving up a bold and spicy flavor. It was on the spicier side compared to other places, so if you prefer a milder dish, it might be worth asking to adjust the spice level. The lunch portion was generous, perfect for a hearty meal, and the Thai iced tea complemented the dish well, balancing out the spice. Everything was extremely reasonably priced. Service was excellent—staff were friendly, and the food came out hot and quickly. Overall, a great spot for flavorful Thai food with attentive service.
Food: The food was decent. We had crab Rangoon as an app - and it was good, but I have had better. However their dipping sauce was not good. It was oily and bland not the consistency of most places I got my usually go to meal - the cashew chicken. It was good but I’ve had better. The chicken was lean with no suspicious pieces and the vegetables were crisp and fresh, just wish it had a bit more flavor and a bit more cashews. The mister got the Mongolian beef and also liked that. The meat was tender with no suspicious meats. Service: the service was good. It was not busy when we dined. I don’t believe they serve adult beverages, so we drank lots of water. Atmosphere: the atmosphere was nice too. I liked the tall booths (gave you privacy) and the elephant art on the walls. I did not care for the light music they played lol, but it was softly playing in background. It’s hard to find a good Thai restaurant in the area. This one is good but for the best must travel too far!
