Yunshang Rice Noodle (Warden)云尚米线 0

Yunshang Rice Noodle (Warden)云尚米线

Yunshang Rice Noodle is a large chain that’s present across the GTA. They are known for their Crossing the Bridge Noodles which are really good. We wanted to try something different this time and decided on the Tipalia in House Sauce along with the Braised Chicken Rice which came out on a sizzling bowl. The tilapia is a cold dish and has a good mala flavor. The chicken was boneless and really tender and the peppers and mushrooms really helped complete the dish. We were fans of both! Pro tip: If you frequent this chain a lot ask them about their membership perks.

Braised Beef Brisket With Hand-Pulled Noodle (Boneless) - Flavourful - The mushrooms and beef soaked up the flavour well - 7.5/10 Chicken & Pork Tripe Rice Noodle Soup With Peppercorn - Not much flavour - 5/10 Slice Beef & Ox Tongue in Chili Sauce - Mild flavour - 6/10 Salty Popcorn Chicken - The breading was a tad bit soggy and the sauce is just alright - Not much flavour but the restaurant provided salt and pepper which redeemed the dish - 6/10

Yang's Braised Chicken Rice (Warden) 0

Yang's Braised Chicken Rice (Warden)

Great franchised restaurant specializing in boiling hot soup noodle and braised chicken rice. No beer (or any alcohol) to kill the heat but there are other drinks available. This location seems to be more generous with their portions but the flavours seem lighter. Still good. Unfortunately there is only one single stall unisex washroom, so sometimes you'll have to line up. Good service, nice ladies.

A friend of mine invited me to try this new restaurant. While they're new to Toronto, they have over 6,000 locations worldwide, originating in China. Their menu for main dishes is pretty simple - Braised Chicken (regular or boneless). The simple menu lists Braised Ribs and Braised Beef Brisket, coming soon. These dishes come with a bowl of steamed rice and your choice of spice level. There are a variety of add-ons available for $1.99 each. They include bean curd, quail eggs, a variety of veggies, and even luncheon meat. The menu also lists a variety of cold dishes, such as Jelly Fish with Green Onion Sauce, Eggplant with Sesame Paste, Celery and Pig Ear in Garlic and Soy Sauce, and a few others. The Snack portion of the menu includes New Orleans Style Fried Chicken Wings, Taiwanese Style Sausages, Deep Fried Squid Balls, and more. The entire menu fits on one page, with nothing costing more than ten dollars (as of this writing). My friend and I had the Yang's Braised Chicken Rice, the house specialty, Popcorn Chicken, and Eggplant with Sesame Sauce. The braised chicken was served sizzling, in a hot pot, with a bowl of rice. The generous serving had a home cooked look and taste. Not bad but not the restaurant quality that I expected. The popcorn chicken was good, very crispy and tasty. I'm not a fan of eggplant but I tried it and it was okay. My friend enjoyed it. This location was nicely decorated and the staff were friendly. If you're looking for a good simple meal at a good price, give this place a try.

Yin Ji Chang Fen is a wonderful Chinese restaurant that specializes in rice rolls. The rice rolls are freshly made to order and you can select different stuffing such as shrimp, beef and mushrooms. They have many other good dishes as well such as noodles and congee. Service is efficient and food is served quickly, we were out in under 30 minutes.

The famous rice noodle rolls are a must try. There are many types of porridge and those taste good. There are many other foods to choose from.

Good food as usual. Not much to say. Good meal for under $14

The team here is very efficient. There is rarely an item unavailable, but when something does run low the cooks are quick with the refill. The staff is friendly. The bathroom is super clean. The drinks haven’t gone down (like many other Pandas).

The spicy Szechuan dishes are great. The heat from the spice will definitely warm you up on a cold night. The dimsums on the other hand are just ok. Like the dumplings are good for a quick fix but definitely not the best ones I had. The service was quick but on the night I went they seem to be to busy to check up on everyone. Overall it was good but I would just go for the Szechuan stuff there for the future.

The barbecue fish is amazing! And lots of regular fried dishes are very authentic and delicious too. The downside is the service is always horrible. The servers here are always extremely slow and just stood there and look very lost. It is really hard to call the server for extra tissue or order food/ pay bills even thought the diner is really small, and this happens among almost all shifts (I go there very often so I’ve seen many different servers). It happens too often that me and friends all get frustrated. Honestly I won’t come here if I can find any other place with taste barbecue fish as here. :(

There was a mandatory service charge but no service at all. No water was provided and of course no water refill. When I asked the boss if she would provide water, she said "You should ask! Customers here don't drink water!" Her attitude was extremely bad. There was no waiter around for the whole meal. I couldn't find anyone to ask for more paper towels. I waited for ten minutes to get my bill. When I asked if there was a debit, the boss yell in a very bad attitude, "Come out and pay here!"

This is a typical HK style cafe. We came in Friday at noon, and it was not so busy, got seated immediately. Interior decorations are neat with a cozy atmosphere. The staff is very friendly, foods are served so quickly, feel like once placed the order, foods sent to table within 3 minutes. Ordered: 1. Beef wudong noodles-4/5 2. Pork chops with spaghetti 4/5 3. Mixed veggies Salad 3/5 4. Fried Chicken wings with fries 4/5 Overall quality is good, however it seems that they just increase the price though.

Hakka Legend Asian Cuisine

This is one of my most go to place for Indio-Chinese style cuisine. Really great service and food is super in terms of taste and value for money. The quality and quantity is also something that’s come along with reasonable pricing. Loved the place, food and atmosphere here. Great for family gatherings and dinner nights. Easily accessible locations across Greater Toronto Area.

Let's keep it 💯! You're coming here for the food - and if that's the case don't worry about the overall rating. While the service is ok and the environment is average - the food is still great 🔥 We had the: ✅ house special fried rice ✅ chilli chicken ✅ crispy ginger beef Everything was good as core hakka food needs. The beef was a bit chewy on some pieces, but overall flavourful. The prices are affordable and the food was good so you should definitely give it a try, enjoy!

Mr. Congee Chinese Cuisine 龍粥記

My go-to choice for gathering. They serve really efficiently. They have choice varies from $15 per person to $60+ depends if you order the set meal. Great place for seafood, and BBQ duck. (BBQ tofu skewer is also highly recommended) You get free hot Chinese desserts. Normally red bean soup.

Overall, my visit to Mr. Congee was okay. The ambiance was nice, and the service was decent. I tried their signature congee, and while it was good, it didn't quite stand out to me. It was a solid meal, but I expected a bit more in terms of flavor and variety. If you're in the area, it's worth a try, but I wouldn't rush back.
