Teriyaki Chicken Express
I got the teriyaki beef combo (comes with egg roll & drink). They do not have sweet tea. The rice & vegetables were good, but the meat was chewy. The employees working were really sweet.
The staff was very friendly and I hope that they succeed. The teriyaki chicken and pot stickers were pretty good. However, the fried rice needs some work. It’s very mild, almost white rice. The flavor that is there is good (mostly onion) but it needs more of a salt/soy flavor or maybe even some teriyaki notes to improve it. The regular chicken and steak that comes with the fried rice is acceptable. Overall the service was very good, but the Rice needs some improvement. I will be back soon to see if it has improved.
Applebee's Grill + Bar
I was genuinely surprised at how great everything was. I haven’t eaten at chain restaurants much over the past 5 years or so, but my family wanted to come. There were 8 of us and everyone loved what they got, which was mostly orders of the Whole Lotta Bacon Burger and Steak and Shrimp. Regina D. was so sweet and attentive. She got everything done perfectly. We will be coming back soon!
Great service! Our waitress, Aubrey, handled our table like a pro—even with our large family and my picky husband. She was friendly, attentive, and had a positive attitude the whole time. Very helpful and patient, making our experience even better.
Kari House
Excellent Malaysian food can be found at Kari House in Sugar Hill / Buford. The restaurant is in an unassuming shopping plaza and parking is a little tricky as most available spots are time restricted from a few minutes to 1 hour, but don't let that distract you from coming to excellent Kari House. My friend is more familiar with Malaysian food and said their food was legit and tasted very high quality and authentic. Me not being that familiar with Malaysian food asked for recommendations from the cashier who made excellent suggestions and I was happy with our entire meal. The main dish was large enough to take some home. Prices were a bit high but the quality and authenticity of this restaurant made the meal worth it. High marks and a thank you to Kari House for a delicious meal. 5 stars and a we will be back!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Kari House is a hidden gem that’s definitely worth a visit! We tried a few dishes and loved each one. We started with the Roti, a fried bread served with curry dipping sauce. My American partner found it spicy, though for those familiar with Asian spices, it’s just right! The Ipoh Ho Fun—a chicken noodle soup—had an incredibly flavorful broth and tender shredded chicken. Although it came with quite a lot of noodles, it was still a fantastic choice. The Chef’s Special Fish, a fried catfish filet in a sweet and spicy sauce, was perfectly seasoned and absolutely delicious. Finally, we ordered the Hainanese Chicken. It took a bit longer to arrive (about 30 minutes), but it was well worth the wait—the chicken was incredibly juicy! The atmosphere is cozy, with a relaxed, take-out vibe. You can order at the counter or sit down for table service, which we opted for. There’s also a self-serve water station, adding a nice casual touch. Service was great; it’s a mom-and-pop spot that really deserves local support. With entrees around $15 each, the pricing is very fair for the quality. We’ll definitely be back. Highly recommend Kari House—5/5 stars!
