Poetree Cafe
My husband and I loved the atmosphere here , very chill vibes and the food came out pretty quick . Fresh and hot and everything we had was absolutely delicious! Servers were nice too . We will definitely be back and highly recommend!
This is a cute restaurant with a nice variety of dishes. I've tried their pastas, kimbap, fried chicken wings, and teokbokki. Everything has tasted great. They have good portion sizes too. The service might be a bit inconsistent sometimes, like my kimbap didn't arrive until the rest of our food was almost all eaten and the iced coffee tasting different between visits
Waffle House
Extremely busy at lunch time... Even a dozen people waiting for a seat! Regardless, my daughter and I took the available seats at the counter and ordered breakfast. The food was good and the service was surprisingly excellent, even with the restaurant at capacity. This Waffle House had a large staff that worked hard and made everything go smoothly. I love to see this: competent people working hard and doing a great job. Well done. To the managers at this restaurant. No dead weight here!
The quality of waffle house has gone down in the last decade. I know it’s not supposed to be fine dining but the taste isn’t there anymore. I went in the early afternoon no crowd. Ordered 2 egg plate with cheese and double hashbrown. I didn’t get double hashbrowns and the eggs were made really uneven. The cook was ready to get it over with so he could go back to being on his phone in the back. The waiter was a nice dude so for that I didn’t bother to complain about the order. The price and the tip wasn’t worth coming back.
Hibachi and Pho (inside Assi Plaza)
After some attempts I finally fooling this spot and now have weekly visits. They are located in Assi on the left side of the Assi store in the food court. Well, I know you are probably here to find out about the food! Well their food is amazing! My mother, husband, son and myself love it. This is my go to spot for Pho. Their brisket and short rib is delicious! Each time I order the Shrimp Goi Cuon and Hibachi. My husband loves the Filet Mignon hibachi. I love the shrimp. The portions are right for the price. Their Customer Service is superb and very inviting. I enjoy each visit. Oh, and the mother makes a fresh pepper seasoning that adds a spicy but delicious taste to compliment the pho.
I ordered a banh mi, I guess because I didn’t sound Asian they thought it was ok to give me something that was not an authentic banh mi and on top of it the bread was soggy, I could tell I was given a sandwich someone never picked up, it was so Soggy that the paper wrap black color was on the bottom of the bag. I’m just disappointed.
Talay Thai Cuisine
Talay is my family’s favorite local restaurant! We’ve been eating here for over ten years with only great experiences! The food is fresh, flavorful and the staff is always welcoming and delightful. With many vegan options, I’m always left satisfied. Portions are large and I’ve never regretted anything I’ve tried here! 10/10 recommend! :)
Fast service. Food got to me quickly and well spiced. Appetizer was spring rolls with slightly watered down sauce. For main I ordered the Pad Thai as it’s usually a known dish for me and I was in a hurry. All in all not bad but two key areas were problems. It was entirely too sweet. I mean there is supposed to be a sweetness to it but it was overpowering. Also, the chicken was so thinly cut it had gone a little dry. The noodles however were cooked perfectly. Normal on the service side. Great presentation. For a quick eat I would eat here again but not if I was craving 5 star Thai.
Saigon Cafe
This restaurant online order is very fast fast fast. Take them only 5-10min to prep an all my Togo order. Thanks Phillip for the recommendation and service. I will definitely try to dine-in next time
I recently visited Saigon Cafe and I was impressed with the quick and friendly service. The food was decent, however, I found it to be below average for the area. The broken rice was a bit pricey for the small portion. On the other hand, the pho was quite good and the restaurant was very clean.
족과의동침 2 스와니
This restaurant specializes in Korean braised pork feet. The dish tastes really good, and there is no unpleasant smell, which can sometimes be an issue at similar restaurants. The interior is very clean, and the food was served faster than I expected. I would recommend it to everyone, both Koreans and non-Koreans. It is a franchise restaurant from Seoul, South Korea, so the taste is consistent across different locations in Georgia.
I found the food here to be a bit hit or miss. I ordered the trotters with sea snail salad, and although the portion size was good, the flavor didn't quite come together for me. I felt that in your face flavor was missing on the trotters, although it wasn't bad. The bean paste dipping sauce was fantastic and I wished a larger portion was given. The sea snail salad I found to be bland, and for me, an after thought. I really wanted there to be more flavor in there, but it fell flat for me. Now that kimchi, I was not happy with that at all. I had a few big, inedible and hard pieces in my container. While the flavor on it is great, when I had some pieces that were soft edible, I enjoyed it. However, this consistency was missing across the board. For the price spent, no worth it. I don't mind spending money on food, but with this price tag, it should be close to perfect and this missed the mark.
HANA 하나 분식당
HANA is a great spot for udon soup, offering generous portions for a reasonable price. The food is tasty and satisfying, though I wouldn’t recommend the mozzarella sticks, as they come with ketchup for dipping, which feels a bit out of place. The place is surprisingly clean, especially considering it’s a self-service restaurant. The staff are friendly and attentive, ensuring a pleasant experience overall. Definitely worth a visit for their udon!
the inside is pretty nice! but the situation where you order and other people get their orders at the same spot makes it hard for the front desk person to be efficient 🥺 i wish they would have a different area to give out the food!! she was nice though! i like self service so its not a knock on that. the food was okay but a little pricey for the portion and the fact that they ran out some key menu items not even during a rush hour or a busy weekday… sad 😣 ill still try it again though once in a while
Zoong Guk Jib Suwanee
We visited the second Joong Gil Jib (중국집) location, which recently opened at Assi Plaza in Suwanee. Its convenient location makes it accessible for those living nearby. We ordered 쟁반 짜장 for two, 탕수육, and a few other dishes. Overall, the experience was satisfactory, though the 쟁반 짜장 fell short of our expectations. Initially, we considered ordering 짜장면 to-go but ultimately decided against it. The service was friendly, and the staff made an effort to ensure we were comfortable. However, the ambiance was average and didn’t particularly stand out. While it was a decent dining experience, there’s room for improvement in both the food quality and overall atmosphere.
Overall, it was an okay experience, but not particularly memorable. I gave 4 stars for a few reasons. Compared to the Duluth location, this branch feels a bit cramped, and the flavors didn’t quite meet my expectations. Perhaps it was because we visited during a busy time, but the food was somewhat disappointing and fell short of what I had hoped for. The server seemed very busy and a little overwhelmed, which made the atmosphere feel somewhat chaotic at times. While it wasn’t a major issue, it did affect the overall dining experience. That said, the food and service were generally satisfactory, but there’s still room for improvement to reach a 5-star level.
Manhong
Not bad for fast food at food court. You order and wait with a buzzer. When ready you pick the food and eat at the food court table. Big portions. Decent taste. Located inside ASSI grocery store.
Great place to eat. Got the Mongolian beef. Tasted really fresh and delicious! Service was great!
Hong Kong Chinese Restaurant
First time eating here. I've been in this area for over a year and haven't found one Chinese restaurant that was good until now. The food here is awesome. It reminds me of the better ones closer to inside the perimeter. We ordered tangerine chicken, shrimp and vegetables, fried dumplings, and shrimp egg rolls (which I highly recommend). They allowed me to sub my regular fried rice to shrimp fried rice and my girlfriend to sub her rice for veggies. Most Asian restaurants don't allow it, and it frustrates me, but this location does. 😁👌🏿💯 If you spend $35.00, you get a free appetizer, which is cool. The food tasted great, could tell it was made from scratch. The shrimp egg rolls were full of shrimp and didn't taste like the flash frozen egg rolls that were just thrown in the grease. I'm going to become a regular now! 😋🥢🍚🥠
First time here, egg foo yong was great loaded with meat and vegetables three patties in an order fried rice was OK wasn’t my favorite, beef. Lo mein noodles were a little dry for me. I like mine with more sauce and wetness, but overall a pleasant experience customer service was, great as well. Oh, in the gravy for the egg for young is just what you likewith flavor and thick
