Xi Hotpot 大渝熹筵
This restaurant offers an upscale and elegant dining experience, and the pricing reflects that. If you’re looking for a luxurious atmosphere to impress your friends, this is a great choice, though it may not be the best option if value is your priority. The seafood was incredibly fresh—likely prepared just moments before being served. The attention to detail in presentation was impressive, from the spotless utensils to the beautifully matched plates and bowls with gold trim. Even the mini sausages were meticulously cut, enhancing both their appearance and taste. That said, while the refined touches were appreciated, they felt a bit excessive for my personal preference. I was hoping for a more traditional Asian dining experience with a stronger emphasis on value rather than presentation. However, I recognize that this is a matter of personal taste rather than a flaw in the restaurant itself. Overall, it was an enjoyable experience, just not exactly what I was looking for.
I’ve visited about six hotpot restaurants in Duluth, and this one is by far the best! I’ve been here three times now, and each visit has been fantastic. The Tom Yum soup base is way too good, and the staff is genuinely kind and welcoming. The last time I ate here, I came alone for a solo date night while my husband was on a business trip. It was a personal challenge to work on my social anxiety, and the experience couldn’t have been better. The staff made me feel comfortable, they even gave me a free tea and I had plenty of leftovers to take home. The variety of ingredients and the quality of the food are outstanding. Without a doubt, a 10/10 from me!
Taste of China
If you are looking for a restaurant that serves authentic chinese food in Duluth, you should definitely try Taste of China! I highly recommend the fried pork Fuzhou Style 荔枝肉! Wonderfully crispy, crunchy and savory! If you would like to try a dish that is sweet, sour and fried, this is definitely a must! Another dish that tastes really good is the crab with sweet sticky rice but it’s a bit on the pricier side. The other foods are good too!
do not go into this restaurant if you’re a person of color or are coming with people of color - the servers are definitely racist. the atmosphere was horrible, there’s literally no music and we just heard the sounds of the heater running. the servers had a demeanor to them that made us very uncomfortable, almost like they didn’t want us there. super unwelcoming. even though the food was good, the atmosphere was so bad that it made the food taste worse. some of the food was lukewarm and seemed microwaved. the prices were way too expensive for this type of service and food quality. do not come here.
