La Confianza
The kitchen is tucked away in the left corner of the supermercado and offers the usual Asada, Barbacoa, Carnitas, Chorizo, and Pollo Burritos. I came into the Taqueria wanting a Breakfast Burrito. I requested my carne to be eggs, and they made it happen. The burrito included rice, refried beans, avocado (a small amount), lettuce, tomato (a small amount), cilantro, and pickled jalapeños. It was very delicious 😋 especially with the salsa verde. La Señora said it would come with "creama", which I assumed meant sour cream, but there wasn't much of that either. And a little pricey at $10.99, but now I know a place that will work with a customer like me that strays away from the normal. 👍🏾 P.S. My initial review was after eating only half of the huge burrito (mostly rice). The 2nd half had more avocado, cream, and also some corn that I didn't notice being or tasting in the 1st half. It was maybe missing some cheese as well. The "Desayuno Tipico" ($17.99) is apparently what you should order if you want eggs. 😋
Late afternoon I had went to Chamblee to pick up some items at plaza fiesta yesterday ,on my way back saw this Mexican store called La confianza , It was my first time passing to this store driving back home tired all the way to Gainesville like an hour away , when I got home I open the bag to cook the chorizo it was all rotten and had a really bad smell , I had to throw it all away, I call the store this morning and the lady that answered the phone she did tell me that I could go exchange it , but how am I going to exchange it if I live an hour away, so people please be careful and make sure you check anything you buy before you leave , before you loose your money just like I did , unfortunately Idid not get a refund back ..:(
Best BBQ
Solid BBQ with nice flavor and crispy texture. Service is lukewarm, but it’s okay—just order, eat, and move on. Pay with cash is better, they charge extra 3%
Food tastes very bad. The three of us had different food poisoning symptoms after the meal like throwing up and diarrhea. After two days, I was still feeling sick, not able to eat as normal, wanting to throw up after eating. I thought the food poisoning effect was already over. I went to the hospital and did blood test, ultrasound sound and didn’t find anything. Today I met one of them, and she also still has symptoms. This restaurant is definitely not worth going at all. Not clean
New Lan Zhou Noodle
Really great Chinese breakfast made fresh to order. I loved the crispy garlic chive pie dripping with bright green chive oil, the lamb viscera soup, and the danbing with egg and cruller inside. Don’t let the viscera put you off of trying the lamb soup as it’s just a comforting, savory broth with soft, not chewy or gristly bits of lamb. And don’t forget to get dessert next door at Family Baking afterward!
Amazing food stall inside the Doraville Chinatown ran by a hardworking family. The mom speaks with her Tianjing accent and really brought the taste of her home to Atlanta. I had a great $10 breakfast for two here. The chive pies tastes like the ones my mom makes. I really love it! This is one of a kind place in Atlanta
China Kitchen
My husband and I would always choose China Kitchen when eating out at the ATL China Town. The food is tasty and authentic. It is placed inside the China Town food court, which reminds me of a hawker style eatery. I love this place. A few of my posted photos show the food being placed in takeout containers, as I did not order for dine-in in those instances, but if you ask to dine in, the food will be served in proper plates and bowls, or even hot pots, depending on what you order. Please be aware that there is a small add-on fee if you use a credit card. I personally would try to bring cash whenever I come here, but there is an ATM inside the food court as well if you need it.
Atlanta's Chinatown is not quite a Chinatown... It's more of a food court, so don't expect it to be something extravagant (or even close to it) like LA, NY, or SF. That being said, there are some great spots there! I tried out China Kitchen, which is excellent for fast and cheap food! The food is delicious and so inexpensive - everything there is around $10 or less. My favorite dishes I got were the eggplant with garlic sauce, spicy chicken, and salt and pepper fish.
Mint Chinese & Thai Cuisine
It was our first time trying this place. The food is delicious, and they serve HALAL meat and chicken. We ordered thai Basil fried rice, chicken chow mein, hot n sour soup, and hunan beef. Everything was good except hot n sour soup was very tangy. The interior is okay, not a really big place, but they had a large number of to go orders. We went there on Friday evening, and they were short staffed, but they tried to accommodate every guest. Our order went a bit behind. We received our appetizer towards the end. It looks like they recently started serving Halal. Since Atlanta does not have many halal Chinese and Thai restaurants, this made the muslim community try this place. I think they need to hire more people to accommodate more guests so that they won't run behind.
I ordered this deal at my workplace today. Right after taking this picture I was gifted with a sight of cockroach in the food. When called the restaurant they said actually we just had done the roach spray that’s why there are roaches everywhere. Never ever going to eat again from this restaurant…..
Oriental Pearl Seafood Restaurant
Consistently delicious, flavorful dim sum. Super efficient service and friendly people. We've enjoyed food here for the last 4 years and keep coming back. Highly recommend.
Had a high expectation for this dim sum place, but the entire dining experience wasn’t that good. The only food tasted good was the porridge. The shrimp dumplings tasted and looked like the frozen food from the factory. When we ask help to refill our tea, the server took the teapot and never come back, since the foods were salty, we ended up getting the teapot by ourselves. The server was rushing us to pay while there were still half of the room with empty seats. Would not come back again.
Harmony Vegetarian
Pretty blown away by the food here. There’s a huge menu with a large variety from which to choose. I did have some concerns about what was vegan vs vegetarian (because the name is Harmony Vegetarian), but the lady said everything is vegan. I then saw a print out of the ingredients for their desserts, so I’m assuming they get questioned a LOT. After a good 15 minutes or so, I finally narrowed down my order. CURRY POCKETS I was expecting curry puffs, a popular Thai snack that I love. This wasn’t that and I believe that’s why I was disappointed. It wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t what I wanted or expected, and it lacked any standout qualities. Would not order again. SCALLION PANCAKES Perfect; crispy and savory FRIED CRUNCHY CHICKEN WITH PEPPER SALT A small appetizer portion was perfect for me. They were tasty little bite sized pieces, peppered with tiny little jalapeño bits. FRIED SHRIMP You get 6 huge pieces of shrimp! They were delicious. I just needed a legit tartar sauce to accompany them. STRING BEAN SZECHUAN STYLE Quite delicious. I froze these for 2 weeks, and when I got back to STL, thawed and cooked them, they were even better than before! The flavors really set in! BASIL FRIED RICE Good but missing something. Maybe garlic? I also froze this dish and it too was better after the seasonings marinated in. I did add some of their chili crisp, and let me tell you: this ain’t no American chili crisp. It is authentic and full of spice! Pour with caution and control! STIR-FRY NOODLE SINGAPORE STYLE It’s fairly good, but I’ve had better. (Veggie Village in Phoenix, AZ has the best Singapore Noodles in the USA.) GENERAL TSO CHICKEN A nice portioned entree served with broccoli. Crunchy chicken coated in a tangy-sweet sauce. This is Chef Kenny level vegan Asian cuisine. 10/10 would order again! CHINESE DONUTS Look - This is the kind of treat that makes vegans like me return and ask, “Are you sure these are vegan??” Because these taste EXACTLY like the non vegan ones I used to eat decades ago. Like, were the OG Chinese donuts accidentally vegan? If not, why not? It taste exactly the same!! I’m questioning my existence at this point! No, but seriously, I was so obsessed with these donuts that I ate half of them in one sitting, in disbelief of eat bite. Even though I didn’t like some dishes, I absolutely loved everything else. Large portions. Fair prices. Lots of space inside to dine in. Restrooms were clean. Employee was patient and helpful. They’re located in a shopping strip mall complex that houses a multitude of other local Asian-owned businesses, so there’s plenty of parking. I’m not familiar with the ATL area, but I think this is about 20 minutes or so from central Atlanta. They’re open for the holidays (Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, NYE, and New Year’s Day), so be sure to support them and enjoy some of the best vegan food in the A.
Haven't been here in 20 years. Stopped in for dinner and it's just as delicious as I remember. Must try the curry pockets.
Canton House Chinese Restaurant
After 5 years in the U.S., I finally tried Hong Kong-style cuisine for the first time! 🥢🇭🇰 This was also my first time ordering without checking prices—total mystery until the bill arrived. 😂 Here’s what I got: rice noodle rolls, shrimp dumplings, turnip cake, and custard buns. Barbecue Pork Rice Noodle Roll: A tad greasy, but a dash of white vinegar would’ve elevated it. 🤤 Shrimp Dumplings: Absolutely delicious! Definitely a highlight. 😋🦐 Radish Cake: Disappointed there wasn’t soy paste to go with it—missed opportunity. 😔 Egg Yolk Custard Buns: Careful—they’re lava hot! 🥵 Overall, not bad. Recommendation Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Dim sum was delicious! We drove 3 and half hours to enjoy this meal! First time visiting and we loved the food here! The service was fast and people were friendly! They explained all the dishes to us and my husband who didn’t have a good experience from the last dim sum we went to in Boston, finally enjoyed dim sum here!! Our favorite is the tofu wrap with some sort of pork and woodear mushrooms in it! Highly recommend it! Go early if you can because we were lucky to find a parking!
Chong Qing Hot Pot
From the time we walked up & ordered our food until the time we were ready to leave & boxed up our food we were satisfied 😋 The lady behind the counter was very knowledgeable. And knew the whole menu inside & out she was also very familiar with the noodles & which dishes paired well with what noodle !! We ordered the seafood hotpot and house fried rice. Both delicious!! The hot pot was brought out to the table & the flame was lit it stayed hot throughout our entire meal. The broth for the hotpot was delicious & didn’t need anything additional. The fried rice serving was large & they were generous with the meats throughout the dish. We WILL be back. The food court was such a nice surprise definitely exceeded expectations.
I’ve loved this place for many, many years now (going on 8 I believe?). My favorites are the seafood hot pot and eggplant with garlic sauce. It’s so amazing! The guy that owns the place looks a lot like my dad so I call him my American dad. Haha! Service is friendly and quick. I recommend paying with cash but they also take credit cards. 10/10 I’m always recommending them to my friends!
J's Mini HotPot Deluxe
I came here about 10 years ago and enjoyed the experience. Came back for the second time tonight and it did not disappoint. I especially like that you get your own individual pot and so can choose your soup base. The Angus beef was very good. And they have a wide selection on the menu. More expensive than your all you can eat hot pot place is, but better quality food here. Not gourmet but really good.
Some tough love here. The staff is wonderful here. But the food, which this review is about, fell short of expectations. The hot pot selection just did not seem appetizing so we t with the pike bowl with eel, and I love eel sushi. Unfortunately the flavor profile did not come together well, nor did the textures. And the eel itself was too slimy and stretchy and tough. Not all all the sushi quality I expected in a pricey poke bowl. So for me and a stuffed donkey, this one gets no tail wags.
Gu’s Kitchen
We wanted authentic Chinese food and this place had high reviews so we stopped by. We came in around lunch and it was completely empty. You order through a QR code even though you’re seated at a table. No problem. They charge extra for takeout vs. dine-in, I suppose to offset the cost of containers. If you ask for any other sauce, or sauce on the side instead of mixed in, also extra. We had the Dan Dan Noodles, Spicy Szechuan Chicken Fried Rice, and Spring Rolls. The noodles were flavorful but the beef was so little in quantity that it seemed sprinkled on top as a garnish rather than making it a meat dish. There were also no sesame seeds or sauce, so the noodles were very dry once mixed (see photo). The fried rice was fresh and flavorful, but not double fried, and the spice came only from the red pepper flakes, so nothing special. The spring rolls were small in size, but to be expected. We did feel it was a bit overpriced, but would still come back as the food was not bad, just not perfect.
Absolutely loved this Schezuan restaurant. It doesn't look like much but the food was incredible. The customer service was great, they tended to us very quickly despite having a rush of to go orders come in. The atmosphere is nothing notable but it's clean. The food was flavorful and delicious. We got the Chongqing Spicy Chicken Noodles which had the perfect amount of spice and flavor. I got the smoked pork fried rice. The pork is smoked for 5 hours. You can definitely taste the smoky flavor in the dish and I loved it! This place was a wonderful find and I highly recommend
Food Terminal
The food here is so very, very good. It is worth every penny. Cheese on cheese moving hot plate was top notch! Highly recommend it!! The menu can feel overwhelming, especially if you want something basic (ie. for a kid) but the staff is helpful, friendly, and eager to help! My daughter enjoyed her noodles and broth as well as some bites of the chicken skewers from the appetizer menu. Grab a sticky rice dessert with Mango icecream but be sure to get the coconut milk glaze for it. You fill out your menu requests on a sheet of paper that has the prices. Use the letters and numbers on the menu to order.
My family surprised me for my New Year birthday! This was my first visit and enjoyed the food! The menu was like a magazine!!! This place deserves another visit for sure! May was our server and had a great sense of humor! I had the following… •Roasted salt & pepper Brussel sprouts •Veggie Spring Rolls •Prosperity Salad •Thai Basil Rolling HotPlate
