Urban Hai
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Warning: Lava-Level Heat! If you like your food served at the temperature of freshly forged steel, Urban Hai is the place for you. My dinner arrived so hot I briefly considered filing for workers’ comp. I took a bite and saw my past, present, and future flash before my eyes. I respect their dedication to keeping food warm, but I wasn’t prepared for a full-on science experiment in heat retention. As for flavor? Let’s just say I had to request soy sauce like a lost wanderer in the desert begging for water. Once I got it, things improved. Service was friendly, the atmosphere was nice, and I left with my taste buds mostly intact. Four stars because I survived.
Phenomenal experience. I had the tofu skins and the three pepper chicken. The tofu skins were such a light, refreshing, and spicy surprise! Adorned with light veggies and herbs, it was a flavor explosion. It is served chilled and it was super refreshing! The three pepper chicken was awesome. Thinly sliced chicken (thigh, I think) in a light chili oil sauce with sliced peppers and herbs. HUGE portion too for the price! The service was good- my only gripe was that our server was really trying to get us to buy a drink other than water. But that’s my only negative comment. We definitely will be back- there’s so much more I want to try from their menu!
Big Boss Chinese
Egg rolls came out very fresh and hot! Weren’t expecting them to be so big either. House fried rice very delectable and full of flavor. Berry helped me narrow my choices down for food choices! Thank you ! Will be back
A perfect, retro Chinese spot right in the heart of midtown. We are massive fans of Buford Highway restaurants and love authentic flavors, but when we stay inside the perimeter, this is our #1 favorite spot. They do all the classic Chinese American dishes perfectly, with really strong and fresh flavors. Order the special, dine-in only, spicy peanut noodles or Szechuan pork and green beans! Dine in or takeaway, Big Boss never misses!
The Sparrow
Liam was our server, and he recommended all the best things! The food is incredible. I’ve never been a fan of Americanized Chinese, but this is more authentic. Cocktails were yummy, and they didn’t mind making one less sweet for my taste. Highly recommend!
OMG! So excited to have found this gem! Top notch service from PJ and the entire staff. PJ walked us through his menu favorites and we were so happy to have taken his advice. Very much kid friendly. The kids enjoyed the crispy chicken with white rice. The chicken has a pretty crispy batter but still delicious. The romaine lettuce with oyster sauce was unlike any other! I could literally eat this with just rice and be satisfied. The dumplings with sweetened soy sauce were amazing! My husband enjoyed the egg drop soup and Szechuan fish. Finally we shared the cumin chicken - easily a favorite! Will be trying it with lamb next time!
Xi'an Gourmet House (Midtown)
My husband and I stopped by this cozy restaurant. Food is great and I love the student cafe atmosphere. We ordered lamb noodles and mixed vegetables. Parking is free for an hour with easy access from the garage to the restaurant but you need to check the registration man how to park (it’s on the Mark garage behind the restaurant and you will see the arrow showing you the way to the restaurant). The young man in the registration carries all front line business and he is a very effective, efficient manager with sophisticated social skills to handle conflicts. I witnessed that he managed in a polite manner, an unreasonable and dirty talking customer. In this way he resolved the issue and maintained a good customer service to all clients. I wish my son will be as mature as he is and resolve conflicts with principle and rules and good social skills.
First time here and I wish I could rate this higher, but I can't. I ordered carryout to take back to my hotel room for dinner. Ordered the Beef Scallion Pancake and the Beef Noodle in Soup. Before departing, I asked the staff if napkins and utensils were in the bag. They assured me they were. Upon arriving back to my room and opening the tied plastic bag and stapled brown bag, there were no utensils or napkins in the bag. Not a good first impression. The Beef Scallion pancake was very good. Hot, with great flavor. The beef noodle bowl broth had very good flavor. However, almost every piece of stew beef that it came with was tender.....but very fatty. Some pieces were so bad I couldn't eat them. I would suggest that you pay the upcharge and pay for a different meat.
Asian Fusion
I had an incredible dining experience at this Asian Fusion restaurant! From the moment I walked in, the ambiance was inviting and cozy, setting the perfect mood for a delicious meal. The menu offered a unique mix of traditional Asian dishes with creative twists, and everything I tried was exceptional. The sushi was incredibly fresh, the dim sum was perfectly steamed, and the stir fry had the perfect balance of flavors. The service was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, making our visit even more enjoyable. I can’t wait to come back and explore more of their amazing dishes! Highly recommend for anyone looking for an unforgettable culinary experience. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
My girlfriend and I had a great experience here! They serve authentic Chinese-style box meals and specialty dishes that are hard to find, especially around the Georgia Tech area. The food is incredibly fresh, and the portions are generous. We're so glad we discovered this hidden gem!
Tin Drum Asian Kitchen & Boba Tea Bar - Georgia Tech
A love letter in dining: I wont be able to fully describe how life changing this restaurant is, but I’ll do my best. Tin Drum has a special place in heaven and my heart. Over the past two months, I have spent close to $250 on Tin Drum. The food is the BEST Asian I have had in Atlanta in two years. Hands down. The ramen with pork belly, Singaporean curry noodles, and most of all, Chinese-Mongolian stir fry with pork belly and mushrooms are incredible. With the brown sugar milk tea, Thai tea, or pineapple peach tea, it physically hurts me when I go a week without eating their food. Don’t be afraid to try their fried chicken sandwich and crinkle fries — better than any burger and fries I’ve had in a long, long time. Been hooked since the first time. Can’t describe how good the food is, only my photo album filled with Tin Drum can. The service is so fast, employees so nice, restaurant so clean, and energy both peace and alive. With only $10-15 per bowl, it is one of the cheapest options for good quality food out here. As a food loving Tech student, I’ve been to all Tech Square restaurants, but none of them compares to Tin Drum. Tin Drum isn’t just a restaurant— it’s a way of life. It’s my safe haven. It’s my home.
Great restaurant if you have a bit of time. Ordering was pretty quick because you use tablets. I appreciate that the water refill is accessible to anyone instead of having to ask someone to refill it every time like other restaurants. Our food came out relatively quickly. I got lo mein with chicken. The chicken was very good and the sauce was as well. For the price point, it has very good food.
