These kind of indoor markets with different mini restaurants always tend to look nice and have bad food, but I wanted to at least give it a shot before judging so I got a pork belly rice bowl and my boyfriend got a tonkatsu ramen. The workers were nice, but the food was definitely not worth the price and you’re really just paying for the “vibes.” My pork belly was just two or three flavorless, overcooked crunchy pieces, bok choy was cold and I really just ate it because I needed to eat not because I enjoyed it. The ramen barely had any meat and the noodles were not properly cooked. Not worth the $30 we spent.

Suzy Siu’s Baos in Krog Street Market had delicious buns (not baos like the name or picture suggest). The Korean BBQ Beef buns were so flavorful. 4 stars though because the service was terrible. The “food runner” was rude and didn’t apologize for their slow service, even though a 10-min wait time was promised. One of our two orders came out right away so just wouldn’t own up. I would be back but hopefully wouldn’t have to interact with the dark-haired girl. I forgot to get a picture of the “baos”.

I got 12 of their famous Zhong style dumplings ($15) and didn’t know it was a popular spot until I walked around Krog street. It had a tangy, sweet, and spicy flavor because of the sauce. I wished it had more green onion or garlic flavor, but otherwise it was pleasant to eat as a snack/appetizer. I only had an issue with the top dumplings being colder/lukewarm than the bottom ones. The service/pickup food area was chaotic though with a bunch of bags piling up and confusion with order names.

Oh man what a treat! We got to try THE Famous Dumplings at Gu’s in Krog Street Market. We got a dozen of the Pork Dumplings and they are served in a to go bowl with this sauce that’s like a mix of Soy and Chili spice that for us was the right about of heat and flavor! We can’t wait to come back and try more of their dishes like the Szechuan Chicken Po Boy
