Good, very fresh, homemade Haitian food. Small with maybe 3 little tables for sit down dinning. A NO frills experience and tucked away in a visually easy to miss location, within a friendly blue collar urban setting in the shadows of downtown Tampa, this place is great for those in the "know" and in search of authentic Haitian cuisine. I have driven from 40 mins out of town a couple of times to eat here. So the food is good. I have tried and love their legume, goat, and stewed chicken. Only problem is the hours posted online don’t always match with their actual hours. And even when they ARE open they often run out of many dishes. I understand this happening on occasion. But This is SUCH a big disappointment for someone driving from out of the way to eat here. I came here on a Saturday afternoon in the middle of the day and they were UNAPOLOGETIC about having no food left. I have driven further out of the way to other Haitian restaurants just because they are more realizable. I sincerely wish they could do better.

This is the spot you need to go to. The service is always great, the food is always prepared on time, whether you dine in or carry out. Today, I had the pleasure of almost getting hit crossing the parking lot just to get these sushi rolls!!! Thank goodness it didn't happen, otherwise you wouldn't see how delicious these rolls look.

The lunch specials here are excellent. I had the 2 sushi roll combo with spicy tuna and tempura shrimp. My mom had the hibachi chicken. Both meals were great. Each special was $7.75. The only reason I'm not giving this place a 5/5 is cleanliness. Several of the booths still had food on the benches. The soy sauce at the table had a hair on it. The bathroom floor was a little dirty. With a little work, this place could be wonderful. I'll definitely go back.

Great, healthy, fresh food! I was in the mood for a salad and was so glad to have found this place! You build your own plate at a fresh salad bar and then pay by weight. The owner is cool and friendly, we had a pleasant conversation while I assembled my plate. I’ll definitely be back!

Great little hidden gem in Downtown Tampa. Excellent service, fresh ingredients, price point hits and very clean establishment. Owner was very kind and helpful. The negative reviews are just as silly as the people writing them. Don’t let it dissuade or discourage you from visiting this salad bar. Will be back very soon! Z

Worst service I have ever had from a buffet not to mention their food was rotten crawfish were bad and still try to make me pay for the buffet when I did not even eat anything. I would highly recommend not going to this place the food sucks and the service sucks oh and did I mention the owners are always arguing back and forth in Chinese so disrespectful so rude. This place should be shut down and health department should be called on these people.

Service was horrible. The owners were rude and aggressive. In fact, they argued with my wife when she told them we were overcharged. They shout across the restaurant constantly while you are eating. A lot of the food on the buffet was cold. This place has low quality and overpriced food. Finally, I went to the bathroom and an employee came in to use the bathroom. The employee did not wash his hands when he finished. Then immediately the employee left the bathroom and started handling food. Wow!!

Delicious, so happy this is our local spot. Everything fresh, great portions, exactly what we were looking for. Can't wait to order again and try the other items.

Never in my life have I gotten food so gross. I tried to fix the broccoli in garlic sauce at home, still no good. It tasted like a ginger sauce and not a garlic sauce. The wantons tastes like they were cooked in old oil, and my friends beef and broccoli smelled and tasted like shrimp. I will not go her again. Last time I got just vegetable lo mein, and it was also not good. I figured I'd give it another chance. Never again.

I ordered the oyster mushrooms baos with a side of fries. The food was fresh and well seasoned. I enjoyed my meal but will say the batter or grease is a little on the salty side. I would still totally recommend

Have you ever had food so good that when you take that first bite you just smile and start talking to yourself because it is just that good? Well, this is the place that will have you craving more. My first bite of the chicken wings sent me to Chicken Wing Heaven! They're pleasantly sized pieces of chicken that are fried to perfection. Fresh, juicy, crispy- crunchy, and the flavor explodes in your mouth. I had the Guava flavored wings which were recommended by the amazing lady that takes your order. I was apprehensive because I'm not a fan of a lot of Guava flavored items but I was open to it(be sure to try the pickled onions on a piece of the chicken- it is amazingly delicious). I ordered the Spicy Wu Wings as well. I had the peach lemonade which was great. My experience: while waiting for the chicken wings, I had the pleasure of trying the Fried Cheese. My mind was like "Fried cheese? Nah, I'm good" but again, I was open to it. It was served with the guava sauce that's served on the wings. It turned out to be mind-blowing good. The fried cheese had such a great flavor on its own then dipping the little squares into that phenomenal guava sauce truly put the icing on the cake. The fried cheese was just as good as the chicken wings and I'd for sure order it again including recommending it to any and everyone! After tasting how good the guava sauce was with the cheese, I was nearly salivating while anticipating the arrival of the chicken wings. While waiting for the food, I realized that I was outside and it was not too hot. They have an amazing setup that keeps you cool enough to enjoy your food outside on a hot Florida sunny day. The service is impeccable. I had the chicken sandwich and fries a few days before this visit which is what prompted me to come back. I've been to this place 3 times already and each time was a flawless experience and exceptional food. I will be back again and again until I've had everything on the menu. Fyi: the Spicy Wu sauce is very tolerable. I even let my grandmother try them and she wanted more and more which was good because she has no tolerance for heat, not even hot sauce. Update: the Coconut Lemonade is so good and refreshing.

One of my favorite places to eat! I’ve recommended this to multiple people who also have been and liked it. I usually get tofu on rice, be careful if you can’t handle spice though because one of the sauces I’ve gotten on it was way too spicy and I can usually handle spice, all of the other sauces on it I’ve gotten have been good though and not too spicy. The pickled things that they put on the side are really good also. The food is so good and never disappoints, the atmosphere is also amazing. It’s such a cute place and they have good music playing. There’s also a lot of studio Ghibli figures/decorations around and it’s so cute!

This was our first time visiting here, and we had a great meal. They serve Okonomiyaki and Japanese curry mainly. You order at a kiosk and pick up your order when you are called. You pick your entree, protein, and any add ons you would like. They have a nice selection of beer and sake. It's a very casual atmosphere. The portions were generous, and we both had meals for tomorrow.

My husband and I took a road trip to FL. We were staying in Tampa and i wanted to try some Chinese food. Boy am I glad I stopped here. Hands down the best BBQ boneless ribs combo. The pork fried rice was flavorful, and the pork was chopped in thin pieces just how I love eating it and service was quick. I could eat that combo every day. It did not disappointment me.

I have been coming to China gate for about 9 yrs and their food has always been great ! I never had a problem with this place. Thank God ! As a matter of fact I'm sitting outside right now waiting for them to open so I can get one of my favorites... Shrimp with lobster sauce and fried rice 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Here’s a list from my experience here with 3 friends: 1. Food is decent but nothing has labels 2. If you’re of color, they will make you pay at entry. 3. They yell across the room 4. Older man told me to “wait or ask someone else for help because he’s the only one working” when I asked for a refill. Then proceeded to seat another table, refill others & then go have a conversation. 5. They charge for “switching drinks” 6. The water they give you to drink is from the sink.

Thought 3.4 stars wasn’t that bad but it really was. As soon as we walked in, there was yelling from the workers and owner, and they were quite harsh when we were being seated too. The atmosphere was off but I wasn’t expecting much because of the location. The place was absolutely empty and the seating was a bit odd, high tables and low booths. Not much food variety, and most of it was cold too. Thought I had taken an egg roll but it was just a piece of chicken. The food being cold made me not want to eat it either. Crab Rangoon was stale, but not as bad as everything else. RED JELLO ABSOLUTELY CARRIED!! It’ll never be bad, anywhere. WORST PART WAS: when the waitress stood there and waited for us to put our card down, and then waited again when we signed the receipt. We didn’t leave a tip since the place was so awful, and when she looked at the receipt she literally told us “you didn’t fill out the tip” and waited till we tipped her. Horrible experience and food.

You're not here for the atmosphere you here for the food... and guess what You're in luck! The food's freaking great! If you're looking for PF Chang's, get outta here, this ain't your place. But if you're looking for New York style Chinese food the taste freaking delicious... This is your place. Don't go hanging out in the lobby, Just get it delivered to your house like normal people. Food's fantastic. You're welcome.

Small business. This place is definitely a hidden gem. The food was AMAZING, better quality than most, perfect amount of sauce. If you enjoy vegetables not completely drowned in sauce, and properly cooked— this is your place. Chicken is very good quality, not too fatty. Fried rice was great, especially if you enjoy egg. Overall I’d give this place a 5* !!! I gave 3* in atmosphere due to the lack of dining in, but for takeout; that’s not important. P.S. the picture I added to this review is a LUNCH combo, with a couple pieces of broccoli missing. 😂
