China Kitchen
Walked over to Restaurant on my lunch break and ordered the lunch special of General Taos chicken with shrimp fried rice walk back to my job on break to find a worm in food walked back to restaurant after calling them to only witness the workers there laugh about the worm and how it had to come from the broccoli. So you guys don’t clean your vegetables? Very unpleasant experience especially when food is expensive things need to be right the first time. If I can give 0 stars I would!
We orders take out and while it looked great, it was horrid. The noodles tasted like seafood and the noodles were mushy. The chicken was not flavorful and also more breading than chicken. The food was not good at all. I spent $27 and I’m so mad about that!
Good Fortune St. Pete
For business or pleasure, this place is fun! The interior has so much to look at and enjoy- a canopy of flower blossoms at the bar, downtown neon signs on the way to the washroom, open kitchen by the sushi bar and intimate outdoor seating if the weather is pleasant. The sushi was awesome and they had a great selection of sake and beer. They have hot food as well. They also offer half-off bottles of sake one day during the week (currently on Thursdays). Lots of street and garage parking available and a great jumping off point if you have other activities you are going to in the area. TIP: the front entrance is down the stairs!
This place is really a vibe🙌🏻 Great food, great drinks, and great ambiance brings a crowd. Both selection and ambiance are top notch. Service was great. Location is prime and what they’ve done with the place really makes it a fun spot. I’d go as far as to say this is one of the better spots for a night out in St. Pete…starting or finishing, if you like Asian cuisine and modern urban fusion culture this is a spot to check out.
Fortu
The restaurant has a lovely, cozy vibe with tasteful decor and a great ambience perfect for a relaxed night out. We started with the tuna tartare and sweet potatoes, both of which were absolutely delicious. For mains, we had the black cod and steak; the cod was just okay, but the steak was solid. Cocktails were impressive and definitely a highlight. Service was decent, though not exceptional. Parking can be a bit tricky, and there weren’t any menu options for kids, so it’s better suited for adults. Overall, a great spot for good food and a great atmosphere.
Went for a birthday- we did the 4 course meal and had 1 cocktail (too sweet/not balanced) - several upcharges for options on the meal - total was $233 for 2 people. The start was good (tuna tartar) the second we had the gyoza (not great) and the chard cabbage (drowned in sauce- not great). Entree of Miso Cod hands down the best cod ever - wow. Delicious, delicate, and perfectly cooked. Dessert was beautifully presented, but the ube cheesecake was good, but again not great - I was expecting everything to be kind blowing at their price point. Excellent service and lovely atmosphere.
Sushi Inc
Sushi Inc: where the rolls are tight, the vibes are right, and I left so full I considered rolling myself home." First off, let’s talk about the menu—it’s a choose-your-own-sushi-adventure novel with plot twists like Yakitori, Tuna Towers, and something called an Oreo Sensation which sounds like a Boy Band but tastes like deep-fried dessert heaven. I started with the Takoyaki, because nothing says “trust the process” like eating fried octopus puffs covered in bonito flakes that wave at you like they’re alive. Spoiler: they’re not. But they are delicious. Then I blacked out and woke up to a Surf and Turf Roll that changed my life. Fried shrimp, spicy krab, asparagus, and strip steak all in one bite? It was like a hibachi grill and a seafood boil had a love child. Also ordered the JaleTuna Bites, which sounds like something that would appear on Hot Ones. These little jalapeño-stuffed bombs were cheesy, spicy, and tempura-fried—aka the three major food groups. And let me just say—the ramen is no afterthought here. I ordered the tonkotsu pork broth and suddenly felt like I was in a Tokyo noodle shop being spiritually cleansed by broth and steam. For dessert, I obviously went full maniac and got the Oreo Sensation. Five tempura-fried Oreo puffs that looked me straight in the eye and dared me to finish them all. I did. I’m proud. I’m ashamed. I have no regrets. Pro tip: They do $2 off rolls during happy hour. That’s basically a sign from the universe. In short: If you like sushi, snacks, and feeling like you’re making questionable but amazing life choices, Sushi Inc is your new religion. Just be prepared to unbutton your pants after.
I’m not in St. Pete often but this was right next door to an event I attended and my first time at Sushi Inc. Immediately loved the atmosphere and service, and the food was AMAZING! The spring rolls were so hot, fresh, and delicious with the chili sauce. I then ordered my own custom sushi roll and it was perfectly portioned and with great flavor. I highly recommend dining in at Sushi Inc in St. Pete - especially at the Sushi Bar! Steven, Sae, and Diana were amazing as I enjoyed their service and conversation. I will definitely be back again to enjoy more delightful items on the menu!
BENTO Downtown St. Petersburg
Priced like a nice sit-down restaurant but it’s a fast food order style, obviously all frozen food. As a college student, it is completely unreasonable to go here and they are missing that whole demographic. Owners need to do reevaluate and might need a little reality check that those prices are not appropriate for what is offered. Wish them the best of luck but I am not planning on coming back.
The Bento portion is generous and food is tasty, not the best, but for fast food, can't expect much. They also have other items which equally decent for the price. Update: Dine in is available and some tables are marked not to use for social distancing. The place is clean and no bathroom usage for cleanliness reason. Soda machine is not available for the same reason. I got the for bowls special and food is tasty. However, did got my order mixed up. They are busy with the take out and could be the reason. Service is very good. Update: 10/22 Only found out the special from the website. Set price for 4 entrees. Decent deal
