Perfect for Takeout & Solid Value! If you’re craving honest, no-frills Chinese food served with a side of genuine kindness, China Garden is your spot. The owners here are the real stars—friendly, attentive, and clearly passionate about making sure every customer leaves satisfied. Don’t expect white-tablecloth fine dining; this is the kind of cozy, unpretentious eatery where the focus is on hearty portions, quick service, and wallet-friendly prices. The food won’t dazzle gourmet snobs, but it’s reliably tasty and hits the spot. Classics like orange chicken, beef and broccoli, and vegetable lo mein are flavorful, generously portioned, and priced fairly. The fried rice is a standout—greasy in the *best* way—and the egg rolls are crispy and packed with filling. It’s the kind of meal that feels like a warm hug after a long day. Parking is available (a small lot out front), but truthfully, this place shines as a takeout joint. The dine-in area is simple and clean, with a few tables for those who want to eat immediately, but the real convenience is grabbing your order to enjoy at home. Pro tip: Call ahead—they’re lightning-fast with takeout prep! What makes China Garden special isn’t just the food; it’s the *people*. The owners greet regulars warmly, crack jokes while handing over your order, and make you feel like family. For affordable comfort food with zero pretension and loads of heart, this spot is a winner. **Final verdict:** Skip the fancy stuff and come here for a satisfying, budget-friendly meal. Perfect for weeknight takeout, casual lunches, or supporting a local small business that truly cares. 🥢✨

Really good, we come from South Carolina and they have the best wings and rice I had ever tried 🫶🏻🥰 super fresh and hot

Awesome 50's style kitchen tables and chairs if you wanna eat in. Easy to read menu. -excellent font choice and not in 4pt. Typical real estate magazines to read while you wait...($1.2M for a 860sq. ft condo?!)... General Tso, chicken and broccoli and wonton (9 total dumplings btw, spoon for scale, coming off the spoon). Not greasy, easy on the stomach including the non-greasy egg rolls. Mustard, duck sauce and pepper sauce packets at the end of the counter. Excellent work. Taaaasteeee.

Had Won Ton Soup hardly any taste to the soup the one tons were thick and doughy, the meat was awe full minced something. Chicken Lo mein again was greasy hardly any chicken in sight and no taste. Sorry we will not return to Mr Wok.

We recently ordered takeout from Taste of Hong Kong in the Gulf Gate area, and it was an exceptional experience! We ordered the General’s Chicken, Chicken and Broccoli with Garlic Sauce, Beef Chow Fun with their homemade hand-stretched noodles, and Boneless Ribs. Every dish was freshly prepared and bursting with flavor. The General’s Chicken was perfectly crispy with just the right amount of sweetness and heat. The Chicken and Broccoli had a rich, savory garlic sauce that tied everything together beautifully. The Beef Chow Fun was a standout—the hand-stretched noodles were tender and had a great texture, truly a cut above the rest. The Boneless Ribs were tender, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. This is hands-down the best Chinese food we’ve had since moving to Sarasota. Highly recommend giving it a try if you’re in the area. We’ll definitely be back!

Let me preface this with I've probably only written 3-4 online reviews in my life; and, I've been a small business owner in this town for over 20 years so I know how bad reviews can hurt businesses. I really just feel like I have to warn people about this place. I've always wanted to try this place because I've heard nothing but good things about it. I wish I could say the same. I called to order a quart of the seafood fried rice and the pork dumpling appetizer. They told me it would be 40 minutes. 40 minutes for some fried rice and a few dumplings! I walked in 40 minutes later and I had to wait another 15 minutes. There was nobody really in the place. I finally get my food and I pay (somehow $7.99 + $14.99 added up to over $27 after tax. I'm still scratching my head over that). I get home starving after working a 12-hour shift and then waiting an hour to get my Chinese takeout. I dump the fried rice in my plate and there's four shrimp and two small scallops in a quart of rice. When I had called to order she asked me if I wanted it spicy or medium and I told her medium. I took my first bite and I felt like my face was going to melt off. It was literally the worst fried rice I've ever had in my life. Like, how can you mess up fried rice? It's just fried rice. I ate the 4 shrimp and two scallops and pitched the rest. The pork dumplings were basically generic like they got them from their distributor. I ate 2 of the 5. I don't even know what to say. I'm just super disappointed. Is there any good Chinese takeout in this town at all??

The food here is very delicious. This is my second time eating here. Every time I come to Sarasota, this is my eating spot. The people are very nice and the place is very clean.

Over the last thirty years of visiting and now living in the Sarasota area we have been looking for a great Chinese restaurant in Sarasota. After visiting many, many, many Chinese restaurants we have finally found a great Chinese restaurant, Asian Kitchen. They have a dining room that seats 30. It is comfortable, inviting, and immaculately clean. In addition, there is a steady flow of take-out orders. The owner, Sam, with his genuine grace and manner is very inviting and treats his customers like family. We have never been disappointed with any of the food items that we have ordered, though we do have our favorites. The Lunch Combo choices are delicious and a large portion (easily a two meal amount). A few of our favorite items are the orange chicken and lemon chicken. Their fried dumplings, egg rolls, and hot and sour soup are the best that we have ever had, anywhere. We dine at Asian Kitchen, at least, once a week. In addition, it is our go to meal to carry-out for our New Year’s Eve celebration. Asian Kitchen is located in the Palmer Crossing Plaza, at the southeast corner of the intersection of Clark and Honore Roads in Sarasota.

Delicious noodle dish.. will definitely order again. My take out order was ready 10 minutes after a phone call.

Just had a great meal from Bamboo Garden - new owners in March 2022. Great portions and amazing flavor. I had Crab rangoon - best ever. Mongolian beef, Hunan Chicken and Chinese donuts. All delicious!

We’re visiting from New Hampshire and our food was so so so good ! We got sesame Chicken, crab Rangoons and chicken fingers. Thanks for the delivery to our AirBnb. Great service !

I support small businesses especially mom and pop places. I had takeout here once before so I had high hopes. Bottom line is that it lacked taste. For the first time in decades, I had to add salt and soy sauce. The General Tso’s chicken lacked enough sauce and needed to be fried more. The shrimp fried rice had nice big shrimp but again was tasteless. Shrimp with snow peas was good. Even my wife who eats a relatively blend diet said the meal lacked taste.

Yummy House China Bistro Sarasota 0

Yummy House China Bistro Sarasota

Yummy House in Sarasota offers a great dining experience with flavorful dishes, attentive service, and excellent value. Here’s the detailed breakdown: • Service (15/20): Good service, saved by our server Jesus. My wife and I are Mexican-American so it was no problem that most of the staff are native Spanish speakers. However, the hostess failed to utter a word to us when we walked in. I asked how she was doing and got no reply. Only thing she registered was table for two. Either she was unfriendly or didn't understand English. Again, not a problem for me but could be for you. • Cleanliness (12/15): Most of the restaurant was clean, including the dining area and tables. However, the bathrooms could use a little extra attention to bring them up to the same standard. • Food/Products (25/25): The food was to our expectation, which is really hard to accomplish! Every dish was fresh and flavorful, exceeding what most places achieve. Particular highlights included the Singapore Style Rice Noodles, which was tender and packed with flavor, and the Seafood Pineapple Fried Rice, which went well with the noodles. Each plate felt thoughtfully prepared and worth every bite. Crunchy Egg Rolls were unimpressive to me but my wife liked them. • Value for Money (15/15): Excellent value for your money. Most dishes are made to feed 2-4 people but my wife and I could not eat the whole serving sizes so it definitely feeds 4 easy. Total bill was $54, with two apps and two main entrees, and two beers. Split that between 4 people and everyone eats for around $10-15 each. • Atmosphere (12/15): The atmosphere is comfortable and pleasant, though not particularly memorable. It’s a nice place to enjoy a meal, but the decor and ambiance don’t stand out. • Accessibility and Convenience (8/10): Getting in and out the lot can be tricky and hard to navigate based on small one way parking. Been here a couple of times before reviewing so I knew, but it could be hard to access for someone new. Combined Score based on my criteria/rubric: 87/100 Overall Impression: Yummy House is a must-visit for Chinese cuisine lovers in Sarasota. The Singapore Style Rice Noodles and Seafood Pineapple Fried Rice stood out as exceptional, and the overall dining experience was enjoyable. With minor improvements in bathroom cleanliness, ambiance and hostess’ customer service, it could easily become a 5-star spot. For now, it’s a strong 4 stars and well worth a visit!

At long last we had a chance to enjoy this restaurant. It's a little different from the normal Chinese restaurants that we visit, but a very welcome upgrade. The service was quick and the server was very friendly and attentive. The food was excellent and the quantities were huge so we had enough food to take home with us for a meal the next day. We look forward to visiting yummy House again the next time we are in sarasota. And we think that it is worth your time to stop by if you like Chinese food served in a relaxed comfortable environment.

This review is long overdue but I only started posting reviews recently and now I’m playing catch up on lots of places! Jade Garden is absolutely amazing for take out food!! I have been coming here for over 25 years, it was called something else way back then but I’m pretty sure it’s the same family throughout… The food is always fresh and delicious, the lunch specials are a great deal! The family is also very friendly, even when I call to place my order they recognize the number and know my order!! I first started coming here when my store was in the same plaza and even though my store is now across Bee Ridge for the past 24 years I still risk my life to walk across and get lunch because it really is that good! If you’re looking for great takeout definitely come here, I highly recommend!

Service was fast and friendly, food was hot and reasonably priced. The quantity of food was on the lighter side and the Beef and Snow Peas was more like Snow Peas with beef. A little above average and conveniently located at Bee Ridge and McIntosh.

What an amazing, cute, friendly Chinese restaurant that actually offers dining in versus usual take out. The food is absolutely delicious, fresh, authentic Chinese cousine. Owners come out and talk with you, friendly and fun! Highly recommend.

My husband ordered takeout yesterday evening. I got beef lo mein with rice and he got short ribs with rice. We also ordered egg rolls and crab ragoons on the side. $85! Literally $85. And for $85 you would expect five star cuisine, not the trash that he took home. I will never give this restaurant the opportunity to rob me again.

Awful. Just say “NO”! Best I can say is, the food was cooked and hot. Decent sized portions.. **Hot and spicy shrimp 🍤 & Triple Delight Range from zero taste to bad taste. **FYI “Krab Rangoon” has zero krab. You’re paying for a tough greasy shell, filled with cream cheese. They think because they’re spelling it with a “K”, that they don’t have to include any. (All artificial crab meat is spelled with a “K”.) Neither of us will be back. Stick to Italian at Asaro’s, next door.

These people are incredible. Heroes. Cooking on gas stove by lantern light to serve the people of Sarasota in the aftermath of the hurricanes. Thank you
