Yummy House China Bistro Sarasota
Yummy House in Sarasota offers a great dining experience with flavorful dishes, attentive service, and excellent value. Here’s the detailed breakdown: • Service (15/20): Good service, saved by our server Jesus. My wife and I are Mexican-American so it was no problem that most of the staff are native Spanish speakers. However, the hostess failed to utter a word to us when we walked in. I asked how she was doing and got no reply. Only thing she registered was table for two. Either she was unfriendly or didn't understand English. Again, not a problem for me but could be for you. • Cleanliness (12/15): Most of the restaurant was clean, including the dining area and tables. However, the bathrooms could use a little extra attention to bring them up to the same standard. • Food/Products (25/25): The food was to our expectation, which is really hard to accomplish! Every dish was fresh and flavorful, exceeding what most places achieve. Particular highlights included the Singapore Style Rice Noodles, which was tender and packed with flavor, and the Seafood Pineapple Fried Rice, which went well with the noodles. Each plate felt thoughtfully prepared and worth every bite. Crunchy Egg Rolls were unimpressive to me but my wife liked them. • Value for Money (15/15): Excellent value for your money. Most dishes are made to feed 2-4 people but my wife and I could not eat the whole serving sizes so it definitely feeds 4 easy. Total bill was $54, with two apps and two main entrees, and two beers. Split that between 4 people and everyone eats for around $10-15 each. • Atmosphere (12/15): The atmosphere is comfortable and pleasant, though not particularly memorable. It’s a nice place to enjoy a meal, but the decor and ambiance don’t stand out. • Accessibility and Convenience (8/10): Getting in and out the lot can be tricky and hard to navigate based on small one way parking. Been here a couple of times before reviewing so I knew, but it could be hard to access for someone new. Combined Score based on my criteria/rubric: 87/100 Overall Impression: Yummy House is a must-visit for Chinese cuisine lovers in Sarasota. The Singapore Style Rice Noodles and Seafood Pineapple Fried Rice stood out as exceptional, and the overall dining experience was enjoyable. With minor improvements in bathroom cleanliness, ambiance and hostess’ customer service, it could easily become a 5-star spot. For now, it’s a strong 4 stars and well worth a visit!
At long last we had a chance to enjoy this restaurant. It's a little different from the normal Chinese restaurants that we visit, but a very welcome upgrade. The service was quick and the server was very friendly and attentive. The food was excellent and the quantities were huge so we had enough food to take home with us for a meal the next day. We look forward to visiting yummy House again the next time we are in sarasota. And we think that it is worth your time to stop by if you like Chinese food served in a relaxed comfortable environment.
