Sawatdee Thai & Sushi
I usually rate most restaurants very highly, but I found this misleading for this restaurant. The people running the restaurant were very sweet. The food was extremely salty and heavy. especially compared to other Thai places. To give them a very generous benefit of the doubt though: This may be personal preference, as Asian customers might prefer weaker seasoning and salt, so the food could be catered to a different palate.
Love love love this place. Food is top notch and we always end up loving everything. We usually order takeout and every time it is packed very well. We will continue to recommend this gem!
Nickel City Sushi Restaurant & Sport Bar
An Unexpected Gem – A Feast Worth Every Bite! What a pleasant and completely unexpected surprise! We stumbled into this spot on a quiet Sunday afternoon and, I’ll admit, we were a little nervous when we saw the empty dining room. But let me tell you—this place is seriously underrated. The menu? Massive. Vietnamese, Thai, and American options, which can sometimes be a red flag, but we were feeling adventurous. Having lived in Asia, my husband and I knew we had to do a full-scale taste test—aka, order way too much food. The Feast Begins: Appetizers: The gyoza didn’t wow me, but the crab Rangoons? Chef’s kiss. Crispy, creamy, and packed with flavor. Sushi: We tried the yellowtail sashimi and a roll—both were fresh and delicious. Major points for the roll size! I hate when sushi rolls are so massive you have to unhinge your jaw like a snake just to take a bite. These? Perfectly portioned. Pho Challenge: My husband, in a moment of pure confidence (or foolishness), bet our server Huy that he could handle the large pho. This bowl was comically huge. I regret not taking a photo with his head next to it for scale—it was that big. (That’s what she said.) Red Curry: My personal go-to at any Thai restaurant, and wow. One bite transported me straight back to my favorite Thai spot in Okinawa, run by the sweetest Thai couple. Rich, fragrant, and packed with authentic flavor. Pad Thai (To Go, Because YOLO): Since we don’t live super close, we figured, why not bring some home? No regrets. Was this an obscene amount of food for two people? Abso-frickin-lutely. But here’s the thing—we’ve been searching high and low across Tampa for solid Asian cuisine, and this place delivered. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and honestly, exactly what we’ve been craving. The service was fantastic, the staff was incredibly friendly, and the best part? Our bill—with all that food plus four Sapporos—came in under $100 (before tip). And speaking of tips—please tip your servers well! We’re already planning our next visit. If you haven’t checked this place out yet, do yourself a favor and go. You won’t be disappointed.
Very simple looking interior but then they brought out the food… unexpected greatness! Gyoza was nothing special but has a great dipping sauce. Crab Rangoon was very nicely done and great flavor. Here’s where we have fun… when ordering pho and the dude laughs and says “you should get the large” please beware! It was massive! Ate every bit but still was massive. Great aromatics in the broth and a lovely, light meal (if you order the regular). Share the large with a friend or prepare for a food coma. The pad Thai is some of the best I’ve had in Tampa Bay (my opinion is based on living in Asia for a few years, not just local haunts). The sushi was lovely, light and fresh. Yellowtail sashimi was very tasty as well. Not a bad meal came across our table. Highly recommend swinging by this place for a taste of Asia.
T'asia Sushi & Thai
I got the Lala Roll and my husband got the Red Curry W/ Chicken. Such a cool place, chill vibe and great food for a reasonable price, found my favorite sushi spot in Pinellas Park! Kyle was our waiter and he was such a delight, attentive and very friendly, make sure you ask for him when you come in!
Long time customer of T’asia but I was really disappointed by my most recent experience. $16 for an order of pad see ew and it was one of the worst orders I’ve ever received. Dry and flavorless would be the perfect description, I’m honestly shocked that they thought this was okay to serve to a customer. Literally no sauce and just plain noodle, I also ordered it medium spicy and there was no spice. The customer service is good but the food is bad.
Pho Ha Tien
This place has become my go-to spot when I am in town. The Pho broth is incredibly flavorful, and the meats are tender and always fresh. The rice dishes are tasty and delicious, and the various Bún (rice noodle) options are equally impressive. Two must-try appetizers are the Spring Rolls and the Fish Sauce Chicken Wings - I never have regret to come in here. For Vietnamese food enthusiasts, there's an added bonus: the chef's weekly specials, featuring traditional dishes that aren't on the regular menu. These hidden gems are posted on a handwritten board, so be sure to check it out for a truly authentic experience!
I love this place! My fiancé and I come here at least once a week now. The people and owner are just lovely and the food is so so good. It’s an instant mood boost every time we go!
Ben Thanh Restaurant
It’s a very average Vietnamese restaurant. It was a bit off-putting to see the workers just on their phones the entire time playing games. I didn’t really feel valued as a customer.
Delicious authentic Vietnamese food recommended by my Vietnamese nail technician. We picked up healthy rice paper rolls with tofu, beef pho with thin sliced beef and chicken noodle salad. Staff is super friendly and food was made-to-order and fabulous! Conveniently located about halfway between St Pete and Clearwater. Definitely will return.
Sumo Hibachi Express
Wow! This place was awesome! Friendly & fast service. The food was priced right & absolutely amazing!! We had about a 15 minute drive home but everything was still hot and fresh. They know what they’re doing in there, that’s for sure! Highly recommend Sumo!! Your belly will be happy! :)
I went in because I was hungry and the staff greeted me immediately. They were friendly as all outdoors. The container had so much food it almost broke the scale. The steak was actually medium rare like I asked. I went to sleep early after eating that meal. Definitely going back
Sam's Sushi
Lo's salad was uniquely done and delicious. The spider roll is a personal favorite and doesn't disappoint with its crunchy interior and eel sauce that brings it all together. Their pad see ew is a great option for kids with its thick noodles and sweet sauce. However, their tonkotsu ramen was lackluster and didn't have a proper "ramen egg".
This restaurant has become a horrible value since they raised prices and cut down on portions: And both its hours and pricing on their website are incorrect so they also false advertise. The fried roll had almost no batter $13.95 for small piece of salmon and cream cheese, 15.95 for pretty much shaved tuna Tataki with more carrot than fish, 8.95 for 5 purse size crab Rangoon with less than a tablespoon of filling. The tataki had a bunch of seaweed in the middle to hide the small portion of fish. Portions and taste are better values elsewhere.
Kung Fu Tea & Token Ramen
Not a fan… I might have high standards having lived in Seattle and LA- we came about 40 minutes before close but they were closing up and only taking to go orders… not a problem… My main disappointment is the food the flavor just wasn’t there to me. The bao buns seemed like they were out of a pack somehow… They had a lot of options for drinks and very few for ramen… Everything just gave me trendy vibe more than authentic… Service was cool, guys answered my questions and chatted with me recommending option while we waited for food… we got the spicy tonkatsu and the garlic ramen…. I was not impressed my girl liked hers… but the noodles reminded me of pack top ramen and there were only two small pieces of pork in both orders… I’m fact the orders looked exactly the same only the broth was different… just screens lazy and unimaginative to me… try if your desperate but I won’t be back
Ramen is good. Unlike other locations, Boba was hard not up to its standard. They usually kept it warm until served.
Kao Thai Kitchen
We stopped in her for sushi before going home to make dinner. It's a cute little place, we were met by friendly staff who got us our order quickly. They do some of their rolls differently than other places, which was a nice change. Our roll had been lightly flame seared, making it a smoky taste that was delicious and fresh! We definitely recommend this place and will be back.
Great atmosphere. The Thai food was amazing. The service as excellent. It is a quiet, chill low key place to go to on a Saturday night if you’re looking to get in right away and get some great food whether it’s for a low key date or family night. Great place. I had Tom yum soup which was filled with amazing flavor and spices. I also had the Khao pad with tofu which was amazing. Everything was cooked to order and fresh
Patti's Kitchen Thai Street Noodles
This place is amazing! My friend recommended coming here for dinner and it’s so good! Their soup is delicious and I love their egg noodles. The portion is a bit small, but filling! The service there is amazing and really enjoy the cute atmosphere! You also must try their coconut cake dessert because it does bring back memories when I was younger! Also, if you can’t handle spicy, Thai spicy is on another level! Really enjoy dinner here and highly recommend trying this place out!
The soup was okay I was not really impressed. I did not like the pork chips in it. The atmosphere is okay nothing special just like a basic setup with tables. The Food came out fast. The pork dish had a ton of flavor and we asked for hot and it was HOT (spicy). The Place got busy later on. The menu is confusing to read as they give you four of them. I would recommend ordering a dish and not soup here.
La Isla Restaurante
I was looking for a latino place to eat while in my training and found this place. Chicken was good and juice, service fast but that rice and beans were bland and tasteless . I had to add salt and pepper for flavor. Got the lunch special which includes 2 sides . Just know that rice and beans will make your 2 sides
Was in the mood for Mofongo and this place did not fail at all. The mofongo were really flavorful and tasty. The lechon was seasoned really good. The pastelillos were also delicious. Only pickle that bothered me was the arroz con guandulez had pegao in it and it bothered me cause I don’t like pegao. That was a bummer. Everything else was delicious! Definitely would go back!
Mr. & Mrs. Crab - Pinellas Park
Great seafood boil offered here! Great local draft-the Cigar City Jai Alai 16oz for only $6. Be sure to get the sausage in the boil too! I’m glad we listened to our server, Zay & had the spice level at Medium House Spice!
I had $100 gift card I got for Christmas so I made the most of my first time here, spending all of it. Absolutely worth every penny, and I'll definitely be back. I'm on the verge of a Thanksgiving level food coma right now, and I ended up bringing a bunch home too. It was just so tasty, and there was so much. It's not often I reach a point where I just stare at what's left and think "there's no way I can finish this, and it's way too much to throw away". Jamie is a great server. He seems like he enjoys being there, and he knows his customer base. The atmosphere is a nice balance between getting your hands dirty at a backyard crab boil, and a clean sit-down restaurant where you don't have to worry about cleaning up a mess. The scissors and plastic lined buckets at the tables are a nice touch.
