Jin Jin King
We eat at the original Jin Jin King a few times a week. Helen, Mary, Ethan, Ming and the rest of the staff are always amazing. They always cater to what we ask for, whether it's asking for brown sauce or white sauce, or no cumbers in sushi. I can't figure out why people leave bad reviews for the buffet down the street that isn't related to this restaurant, just lazy I guess. This is the best, freshest Chinese and Japanese food on this side of the bridge and love eating here twice a week. They are closed on Wed., just so they can cook at home for their own family and take a break. Family owned businesses are what makes our little town awesome.
Looked for a traditional Chinese restaurant and picked Jin Jin King. So glad we did. Plenty of menu options. Great crab Rangoon (freshly made) and hot/sour soup. Wife enjoyed the Seafood Delight (enough for 2 meals) and I had the sweet and sour chicken (also full platter). Everything was delicious, fairly quick service and was reasonably priced. Variety of bottled beer and coke products. Added plus, the dining area was neat, clean and quiet. Don't let the building's appearance fool you (looks like a converted Captain D's), come here for a great meal.
Jin Jin Fusion
On our first night in town, we decided to stop here for our anniversary. We got Laurie as our waitress and she was absolutely wonderful. Very attentive knew her stuff! Gave us great recommendations of what to have! And then turned out she is a fellow Wisconsin person just like this us! Thank you so much for the great service and experience!
The chicken fried rice was pretty good. The egg rolls were really crispy and fried just right but the fillling was a little bit lacking and flavorless. It goes downhill from there. Don't let the pictures and video fool you. The food was mediocre at best. The lo mein noodles could have gone in the trash. All that being said, it's better than a lot of the Chinese takeout we've had in the PCB area.
Pho Pier 77
I was looking for an Asian restaurant not too far from my hotel at Panama City Beach. Arrived there nearly their closing time, but they didn't mind to serve me. In fact there are another couple who arrived later on and still got served too. I had Pho and fresh spring rolls. The taste was just average. Will I come back again? Probably.
Great Pho, my son had the fried rice and loved it. The dumplings were delicious. We arrived after dark, but looks like it would have nice ocean views during the day. We’re planning on going for a second visit during this trip.
Oishi Thai Restaurant and Sushi Bar
In a rush to find a dining spot near closing time, we stumbled upon Oishi Thai Restaurant and Sushi Bar, and what a delightful discovery it turned out to be! Despite arriving just an hour before closing, the warm reception we received from the server instantly put us at ease. We opted for takeout because they were not open to dining in anymore, and the server graciously accommodated our request, ensuring we had ample time to peruse the menu and make our selections. We savored every bite of our meal, which exceeded our expectations in both taste and presentation.
sooo delicious, my family & i come here every time we go to panama & it's truly so yummy & there's something for everyone. the po tak soup is to die for & the entree & noodle serving sizes are huge, 100/10 recommend !!
Zollo's Pizza
The pizza quality is what you might find at an arcade or a roller rink, but much pricier. I arrived to pick up our order before it was even ready and it turned out to be cold, dry, and crunchy, like it was someone’s sloppy seconds. Very thin crust (we ordered hand tossed) and the cheese was the translucent plastic-y kind, so not real mozzarella at all. And the Caesar salad was a complete joke. Just a box full of spring mix with a tiny sprinkle of bagged Parmesan in one corner, and nothing else. Their website touts these obnoxious and long-winded descriptions of how succulent and tantalizing their menu items are, with absolutely no delivery on these claims at all. Such a bummer that food in touristy areas just plain sucks. Also, the girl at the register hates her life and moves like a snail. No eye contact, no interaction, just staring at the ground and dragging herself across the floor to hand me my order. Next time I’m in town I’ll get frozen pizza from Walmart.
Good pizza. Just had cheese and sauce, thin crust. The sauce was not spread evenly which affected the flavor greatly. I also took issue with the way it was cut. I like the traditional pie cut into triangles. This was cut into diamonds. Great for little kids but I would have liked to know that it wasn't a traditional cut. Not a deal breaker though. The garlic knots were soft and hot but I could barely find a dusting of garlic powder on top and the sauce it came with was a prepackaged sauce cup that personally lacked a robust flavor. The service was great. Friendly and helpful. Only seating outside. I'll get pizza here again but I'll leave off the garlic know next time. Prices were reasonable for the area.
Shrimp Basket
If you are looking for a GREAT example of fried shrimp, this is the place! (Quick tip - When visiting "Shrimp Basket," definitely order the shrimp basket. It offers a generous portion, fantastic taste, and a reasonable price. Those at our table who chose the whitefish basket were less satisfied—perhaps they should have tried a place called "Whitefish Basket”) Service was friendly and efficient but they are understaffed and you will have a wait between visits from staff. The drinks were good, but a little light on the booze. Not criminally light but a little more zing would have been nice. Clean-ish bathrooms...Not spotless but far from gross. They look like they stay on top of keeping them as clean as you can with strangers using the facilities. :) Even mix of families with kids, couples and groups eating when we were there. Very family friendly. Not a romantic setting by any interpretation of the word, but a good date for couples who want a good meal and an upbeat atmosphere. Again, if you are looking for a really great example of fried shrimp, this is the place.
Great server and staff, all very friendly and attentive! The food was delicious and the amount served was very fair for the price! The shrimp was battered and fried perfectly, cocktail sauce and coleslaw tasted very fresh.
Jin Jin Super King
Best thing was my glass of wine. Service was good but we got there they were not busy. Closed at 10 but buffet some things were very low at 730. I did enjoy the noodles and pepper steak. The soup was warm not hot, egg rolls were lacking. Possible would be better at lunch???When we come back To pcb this fall or next year this will not be on my list to go back.
Food was cold, did not taste good at all. We had lo mein (it was Luke warm), fried rice was cold and had a chemical taste to it, the sesame chicken was stringy and rubbery, hard to chew. Deserts were tasteless. The missing food on plate was all I could stomach before leaving. 18.95 for it.
Dirty Dick's Crab House - Panama City Beach, Florida
I recently had the best fish sandwich I've ever tasted, and I just have to share my experience! From the moment I took my first bite, I was blown away by the freshness of the fish. It was perfectly cooked, flaky, and had a deliciously crispy batter that added the right amount of crunch. The sandwich was generously topped with fresh lettuce and a tangy tartar sauce that complemented the fish beautifully. The bun was soft and toasted to perfection, holding everything together without falling apart. Each bite was a delightful combination of flavors and textures that left me wanting more. If you're a fan of fish sandwiches, you absolutely have to try this one. It's a game-changer! I can't wait to go back and enjoy it again. Highly recommend! Shoutout to Kayla, the awesome bartender, for the entree recommendation!
The restaurant was quiet and only one other table. I know it’s off season. The server was fantastic. Very friendly quick and attentive. I had calamari for app. It was ok. The texture and crunch was great. Flavor was just ok. Needed salt and some brightness. The sauce was heavy dark thick and lacking flavor also. Now the crab legs…..0 complaining. They were flavorful, hot, fresh, exactly what I was looking for, and didn’t even need the butter. Absolutely delicious! Lastly….the hushpuppies….these are more of a dessert. So good you just want to savor them. These could become dangerous. So delicious! Great job!
