BENTO Orlando Dr. Phillips
First time at this location and everything was GREAT! You approach like a kiosk to place your order and get a number for your table and the food is brought as it’s ready. Food was hot & so fresh plus delicious . Atmosphere & ambiance was relaxing and so nice, including the service and employees. Ordered multiple dishes such as the miso soup, pork dumplings, crab rangoon and Drunken Noodles. Everything was outstanding and I can’t wait to return!
I don’t usually leave many reviews—only when the experience is either exceptionally good or extremely bad. Unfortunately, today’s review falls into the latter category. I have been a regular at Bento since 2015, approaching a decade now. I typically visit the Sand Lake location and vividly remember when servers used to attend to tables. The food quality was outstanding, and it was my wife’s and my favorite restaurant. However, each time I visit now, the experience gets worse. The person managing this location seems completely unaware of the current state of the restaurant. The table in front of the soda machine has been wobbly for over a year and has never been fixed. The restrooms are increasingly dirty. The kiosk does not properly scan barcodes for beverages. And today—on a Friday, a day that used to be packed during lunchtime—there were only three occupied tables. In short, whoever is managing this restaurant has successfully ruined one of Dr. Phillips’ best dining spots. This is a clear example of poor administration. If it’s the manager, they should be replaced. If it’s the owner, I strongly urge you to reconsider your decisions because you are heading in the wrong direction.
Thai Thani restaurant (sand lake road)
I have dined here many times, and each experience has been fantastic. The staff is always polite, and the restaurant maintains a high standard of cleanliness. The egg rolls are a must-try—crispy on the outside and packed with flavor on the inside. The soup is incredibly comforting, with a rich broth that warms you up and is perfect for any occasion. As for the Pad Thai, it’s one of the best I’ve ever had—perfectly cooked noodles, fresh ingredients, and just the right amount of seasoning. The authenticity of the cuisine is impressive, and I will definitely eat here again whenever I'm in Orlando. Don’t pass this gem up! Superb Thai restaurant. We had a poor experience with At Siam on iDrive (see my other review) and decided to end our holiday with a trip to Thai Thani and it is miles better! The welcome was nice and friendly, the food was beautiful (Thai sampler starter, sweet and sour main and deep fried cheesecake was amazing!) and also I experienced my first Thai iced tea which was quite an experience. Effort is made with food presentation and the restaurant is a lovely environment. I heartily recommend here. Oh also, Locals were getting take out at the same time which speaks volumes.
