Mo Mi Mei
Great spot for lunch! Had "In the mood for love" (pork) as glow up, and "Pearl river" (shrimp) rolls with a side of pickled veggies. Both were good but the pork roll was my fave! Would recommend 1 roll per person. It looks like a lot but 1pp is definitely doable. Service was friendly and fast! Interior decor is very cute. Will be coming back!
Mo Mi Mei has, perhaps accidentally, created a new genre of lunch spots: "slow casual." I came in around 1:15pm on a Wednesday and was delighted to see that each order was freshly prepared. However, my delight turned into horror when I realized they were only operating with a single machine for the steamed rice rolls, creating an unfortunate bottleneck for the main thing on their menu. I waited 36 minutes after placing my order before I received my one plate. I actually saw another couple give up after 30 minutes of waiting, cancelling their order and walking out without anything. I saw multiple delivery app drivers having to wait around for a long time too, probably because the restaurants is currently promoting a BOGO offer on Uber Eats, perhaps further adding to the bottleneck. My order of the Pork "In the Mood for Love" (glow up version) was fine, but certainly not worth the wait. The portion was filling and $14 price was fair. I'd advise the team to invest in getting a second steam machine and also informing customers about the current wait time before they place their order. It would've been nice if they offered a free canned drink to make up for the delay, but perhaps the employees aren't empowered to do that by their managers.
No.1 Chinese Food
Best bang for your buck! The portion is stupidly enormous. For $10.99 only, you get to take home a 2-item combo that lasts you 2-3 meals. On top of that, the owner said they made their food every 15 minutes to keep it fresh. My favorite dish is their Jalapeno Chicken. Best chinese food in town! Highly recommended!
This place was horrible. The eggroll was burned or cooked and recooked it was very greasy. They also delivered without any kind of sauces for the rice we ordered AND there was no silverware in the bag for us to even eat with. The rice was non flavorful and each meat in the rice tasted like it had been cooked and recooked. Bad all Bad
Grand Fu Yuan Chinese Cuisine
Really tasty and generous portions.
Fuyuan Xiangwei Restaurant. It takes more than an hour to place an order, preferably two hours I was in the family kitchen and saw a few people coming and placing orders on the spot. Mine wasn't any better. Just three dishes! ! The woman came out several times and always said she would wait a minute. Call me one last time. My food can't be cooked. Just three dishes! ! I said I've been at your door for two hours, why can't I do it? He also said that there were five or six orders ahead of me. It's been two hours since I placed the order. I saw three people placing orders behind me who had already taken their orders and left early. After a while, he said he was too busy and didn’t do it for me. After a while, he said that I have a lot of orders ahead of me. I just want to ask. I have been waiting for two hours. I called you twice and you said right away. Every time you came out, I called you to stop and asked you, but you turned around and left. In the end, I waited too long and couldn't call you to ask how long it would take to tell me that I couldn't do it. I made two calls in two hours. Several times you came out and I asked you why you didn’t tell me. Your time is valuable. I waited here for more than two hours like SB. Finally, I asked anxiously and was told that I couldn't do it. I have a lot of orders ahead of me. Just three dishes I can’t do it for a while. It’s okay to forget all the previous ones for a while. It’s okay to be too busy. Can you tell others every time you ask? It has been two hours. Do you treat other people's time well? Please tell me. Even if you tell me that I am too busy to do it, I don't think it is a problem. Rather than being asked five or six times each time by others. Sometimes it’s just perfunctory, but in the end I realize I didn’t do it!
Chinese Food Express
While the food at Chinese Food Express was filling, it unfortunately lacked flavor. The rice was also dry, which detracted from the overall experience. The restaurant's ambiance was also lacking, with no decorations or music to create a pleasant atmosphere.
It was okay. You definitely get a lot of food for the price. I was disappointed in the way they served the food. The entrees were served on top of each other so the flavors of the orange chicken and bbq pork were all mixed. The quality was good. The rice was a bit hard and the noodles a bit flavorless. But overall a good deal for a quick meal.
Kingfu Master 一家小店
On a weekday evening, it wasn't too crowded yet. Ordered the signature grilled fish, which was a large portion. Also had pork buns that tasted very much like the ones in China, which I really liked.
We were looking for a trendy breakfast but accidentally drove in this plaza with several Asian restaurants open (8:30ish). We saw a couple eating outside the Kingfu Master, and decided to give a try. We tried a few items on the menu, and to our surprise, they are outstanding! We then order almost everything on the breakfast menu. My kids, wife and I appreciate the authenticity of the food they offer. The cashier is little bit unenthusiastic but gets her job done. The place is clean. Overall, a great spot for breakfast.
Chef Chuan
I just ordered their shredded pork and peppers bowl and I got a very big plate of food. The food is very good. The peppers were fresh and the shredded pork was substantial. The only issue that may prevent this place from having more success is the trouble with the communication. I am not Chinese. They are clearly Chinese here and it took two people to take my order. There is no hot mustard or sriracha to be had but I was able to get a red pepper medley to spice up the dish. They did not understand me when I asked for egg rolls so I let that go. I was able to gesture and mime my way to getting a good plate just know that this place is authentic Chinese and if you speak Chinese, you will enjoy both the food and the service. For me, it was a bit of a struggle but with great results.
Pickup an order from uber one. Only half bowl of dish, called then but they hang up, very bad attitude. Also the food doesn’t taste good. Can’t believe it costs me 34 dollars
Great Wall Chinese Food
Price for one plate is $14 and you can’t get more than two sides of hot sauce otherwise it’s extra charge. If you ask for a cup of water it’s a tiny cup. Rude workers also
For a standard buffet style Chinese restaurant, this place met all my expectations. Big portions, fresh, tasty, and the barbecue pork was excellent. I also had a spicy whole shrimp dish, most yummy. The price was also very reasonable. Next time I am back in this neighborhood, I will be back.
Panda Express
It’s been awhile since I was stateside (or in a country with Panda Express)—oh how I missed the subtlety of orange chicken! 😂 and they’ve added a “hot” varietal! We tried both today and loved them. Also, my skeptical meal partner (first time at Panda) was won over completely! 🐼 service was quick and friendly. They had just run out of the hot orange chicken so cooked me up some nice and fresh.
Went through drive through, wasn't busy at all, yet they rushed me while I ordered. Then get home to see the portions were small. Never coming here again.
Tim Ho Wan
We walked around this busy Irvine center and decided on Tim Ho Wan, where we were able to be seated right away. The decor was nice with a modern look. The servers were efficient and came by our table often. Everything we shared: Pan Fried Noodles with BBQ Pork $12.50 Baked BBQ Pork Buns 3pc $8.00 Steamed Rice Roll with BBQ Pork $7.95 Sweet Coconut Cream with Taro and Sago $7.50 The baked barbecue pork buns is one of my favorites. Textured pillows of pastry that was a little sweet with a pocket of delicious char siu. The Pan Fried Noodles with BBQ Pork was another favorite. The portion was a little smaller than I was expecting. The flavor was fantastic and liked the crunch of the veggies. Visually very appealing! I miss the traditional dim sum carts. I’ll definitely have to come back to try more of their dim sum!
In A Nutshell: -This was the 2nd Tim Ho Wan location I've eaten at. -Compared to the Vegas location, it's not as aesthetically pleasing to the eye for obvious reasons, but it is very clean & bright which is good. -The service here is very, very good, kind & attentive! -The menu options are standard & the food quality is superb. -Every item ordered was very tasty, which is why this dim sum spot always ranks high among other foodies. Overall, I really enjoyed eating at this location in Irvine.
J Zhou Oriental Cuisine
For a decade, this restaurant has never let me down. The service is impeccable, the food consistently fresh and delicious. Yes, it’s pricey, but the quality justifies every dollar. Hands down, the best dim sum in OC.
The food here is a little pricey but it's definitely worth it. The interior design looks amazing and the waiters are professional. It's a great place to have anything from a casual conversation to a business meeting.
Lucky Star Chinese Food Inc
They have the best Deep Fried Fish & Chicken Wings, that's why I keep coming back, and the 2 ladies up front are the nicest & very attentive to their customers. Very awesome Chinese Food.
Absolutely love this place! 🥰The New owners did a amazing job! You can smell the food before you even come in! The father is the owner of this place and he is also the chef! That's why the food taste authentic and fresh ! Place is clean ! Friendly and they offer masks for people who may not have one handy and that's a good thing with this whole covid thing going on! Last time I forgot my mask and was sad cause I wouldn't have been able to order without it but luckily he had me covered! Me and my boo got a plate to share together and it was delicious!😋 We got a mix of white rice and fried rice with kung Pao chicken! Mushroom chicken and 2 eggrolls!😱🤯 Ive never been a fan of eggrolls until I came across this place! They taste to fresh and crispy and honestly it is just so delicious words cannot describe how good it is!😋😋💕 You need to try them! I also got a free veggie roll and a free cream cheese wonton! He was so kind to do that for us! I was super surprised when I opened the bag and saw it! (Didn't snap a pic cause I ended up eating them before I could!)🤭 Also google lied because this place closes at 9pm everyday !! So Stop By! Grab A Bite! You won't regret it!
Panda House Restaurant
Excellent 🙂and this evening made it official! FAIR AND 🟧 great food as always ➕ "paper packaging" for a first🙌🏾😁😏 I'm satisfied! No brand new plastic containers needed for this type order 😌✨👍🏾 🤔I don't have to feel like I'm getting over or taking advantage of well behaved business people for THE NEW YEAR!!! I'm happy...
Not the best Chinese food I have ever eaten, but better than a lot of nearby places. The hot n sour soup is pretty tasty. Kung Pao Chicken sauce and flavor was great, texture of the chicken felt like it was cooked too quick (a bit firm). Good beef and broccoli. Looks like a family run business, hardworking people.
