Joy Luck
This is one of the best Chinese restaurants in the area. I got chicken with garlic sauce, shrimp with mixed vegetables, and an egg roll. The egg roll was decent, but the meals were really good; they also use jumbo shrimp which was nice. All of the containers were filled completely as well, so you get your moneys worth. Prices were fair too, except they charge an extra 4% if you use a card to pay instead of cash. They charge extra if you door dash them too, but it's a fair price if you're picking it up yourself and paying with cash, or using a card that gets you some cash back in order to offset the 4% card fee.
Food was excellent. I requested dishes to be extra crispy and everything was perfect especially the egg rolls! We had orange beef, sesame chicken, house lomein, and of course, egg rolls. My husband picked it up and said the staff was especially friendly, even going over what I had ordered online to make sure we had everything. We recently moved to Merritt Island and this will definitely be our go to place.
Red Lobster
We had a gift card and decided to go. Glad we did!! Biscuits are golden as usual. The shrimp was cooked to perfection. We both got the buttery scampi shrimp and crispy dragon shrimp. He got the special mac n cheese and I got the crispy Brussels. The food was hot and delicious. The service was nice and chill. The atmosphere, when we walked in there was a noticeable smell. Idk if it was because of the weather, but regardless. Very quiet and dull. But we are there for food so we sent it. Honestly have not been to a red lobster in ages. But their food is really good. No upset stomachs. No issues with any missing items. All a great experience (besides the smell and how quiet it was). I know Red Lobster has always been quiet and chill, but I think until service starts bumping again they should throw up a speaker and play some bumping jazz or anything to shake up the air.
Made online reservation but on arrival was told those aren't honored. Waited 30 minutes on a slow evening for a table. Waitress was friendly but food was delivered cold missing sides from 5 of 6 orders. Had to wait for those for 10 minutes after food delivery. This location used to be pretty good but seems to have lost a lot of focus.
Brasas Grill Brazilian SteakHouse
It was truly worth the price! We loved their salad bar. They have a variety of options to choose from while waiting for the main steaks. Great service too. The parmesan pork was really good. That was new to us so we loved it. The meat was tender and the parmesan gave it the best flavor.
A good Place to eat on Merritt Island This is one of the option near to the Merrit Island Mall. It is on the south side of the road in a shopping center with a Harbor freight. There is plenty of parking in the shared parking lot. The restaurant is at the end of the line of stores that open onto the parking lot. This location has much to offer. It has a small drinking bar in the back left part of the open space. The decor seems nice with darker wood for the chairs and tables. There is a taco bar to the right as you enter and the kitchen is directly in front of the entrance. Seating is booths along the walls and tables in the middle. We visited for a friend’s birthday. Most of us ordered the taco bar but the birthday person and their dad ordered the Steak House Rodizio option. The chef came out at least 4 times with the various meats and it looked delicious so, even though it may be a little pricey at ~ $42/person, my friends seemed to be enjoying it. The dinner buffet option was very good and cost ~$18/person. The waitress and chef were both very friendly and efficient. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience and I would recommend this eating option for others in the area.
China Max
DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE!!!!! HORRIBLE FOOD & CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! This is by far the WORST Chinese Restaurant that I have gone to in my whole life. Like all the other negative reviews said the food amount is TINY,a kids plate is even larger for what they serve you.Not even half of the plate was full!!!AND it is OLD FOOD,NOT FRESH AT ALL!!!! Then they ask if you want an egg roll, you think it is included in that tiny amount of food, but,no,that's an extra $3 !! We will NEVER go this place again, neither should anyone else!!!YUCK!!!!!!
Totally desolated this food court is with only what seems to be, three operating restaurants: China Max, Sbarro’s and a Middle Eastern stand. The Chinese restaurant had the Bourbon Chicken and so, that’s what I had. For under $8.00 you get a very small plate which is rather unusual for a Chinese Restaurant. However, what bothered me most was, it was obvious the Bourbon sauce had been diluted with water. For Chinese restaurants to survive now adays, best to go back to the principles that made them the staple they became in American cities. Bountiful, tasty, good food fast. Charging $8 for this bit of food, is not going to keep you in business. After I had this, had to get something else to eat.
