Chez Quan's
Came here on a very rainy afternoon. Small and cozy restaurant with really chill vibes and great art on the walls. I love fusion restaurants so I was really excited for this one. I've never had Thai Latin fusion, and I'm from Miami so I know my Latin food! By popular request we got the Sawadeezle. It was so freaking delicious I wasn't prepared for how damn good it was. The beef was tender and seasoned perfectly. The spice was fairly mild but there was enough kick every now and then. The crispy lettuce and fresh onions and tomatoes and cucumber all balanced against the hot savory fried rice underneath. I was over the moon about this dish. Our server let us know if we wanted a side-by-side size which is larger? And I said no (regretfully) but now I know for next time. I originally went out to eat craving pho so I opted for their Thai noodle soup. It was good but flavor wise it just wasn't what I was aiming for. The noodles were fresh, the broth was very well seasoned. I added beef to mine because it doesn't come with it. I enjoyed it but don't think it's what I'd go for next time on the menu. Really glad I got to come here after all this time being recommended to me! Will absolutely be back. And up front at check out there's sometimes cookies and brownies, absolutely get a brownie. It was GREAT. So chewy and fudgy and had a nice crisp on the bottom too. Really enjoyed that as well.
Literally the best food in Melbourne. This is actually real food. I had forgotten what real food was like after moving to Melbourne. Get Adam’s favorite, trust me. This is definitely a hole in the wall restaurant and very family style, like you’re eating in someone’s big living room. My goal is to try everything on the menu and so far I haven’t been disappointed! So many places have let me down in Melbourne but this place is just good food and I can’t recommend it enough.
Imperial Wok Chinese Restaurant
Probably the best General Tsos I've had in 15 years. The quality of the chicken and how it was prepared was great. The sauce was perfect. My wife's orange chicken could have used more sauce, and they can't just bring you more, it has to be made extra, so you know it's fresh. But I'd suggest you order more if you like it extra saucy.
First time here. I was very impressed. Food was delicious, service was fast and polite, and the environment was very nice. I definitely recommend this place.
