Gator China
Decent orange chicken (not spicy at all) and the sweet and sour chicken was really juicy. The chicken with cashews was pretty bland. The service was super quick though. Friendly staff. The pork fried rice was already but the pork in it was not the best and picked it out.
Well packaged to-go food. Food was super hot and delicious! Not a place to eat inside (sterile and cold) but definitely recommend ordering take out from here.
Yummy House Gainesville
The staff here are on the top of their game! Present and knowledgable, the service was excellent and top speed. Entrees were about $15-25 depending on the dish and are well worth the price point with high quality ingredients and generous portions. I ordered the House Style Chicken Clay Pot with a side of white rice, and needless to say, I was pleased with my choice. With a variety of dishes and flavors, we are already planning our next visit!
I was disappointed with my experience at Yummy House in Gainesville. The dim sum did not taste fresh and seemed like it came from pre-packaged food, lacking the authentic flavor I was hoping for. Additionally, the service was underwhelming; the lady server was unfriendly and had a rude demeanor, which made the overall experience less enjoyable. I expected better service and food quality
Sohao Cafe
Incredible, authentic Szechuan. Easily the best in town if you like real Asian food. If you plan to just get teriyaki chicken or pad Thai, don’t go here, there’s cheaper places that specialize in American Chinese food. Also, this place shines in family-style serving situations. Go in with 4-6 people and everyone order an entree, veggie or appetizer. You’re guaranteed to end up with more food than you know what to do with, but everyone goes home with leftovers. Win-win! The lunch specials are great too. Incredible chefs and very kind, knowledgeable servers who are always happy to explain dishes or provide guidance.
Delicious! Asian food really enjoyed beef and broccoli so much. Will be back for sure! Very clean and the food arrives quickly and was very fresh. Can't imagine why there are complaints. Only wish the overhead lights dimmed a little bit for atmosphere 🙂
Zen Noodle Bar Gainesville (34th & Archer)
The Japanese Ramen was outstanding!!!!! I will return soon. My server Ty was also wonderful and he made sure my dietary needs (gluten free, egg free) were met without issue. I have also had their Calamari and it is equally wonderful!!!! I highly recommend this restaurant!!
First time eating there. Cute little place also has outside seating, the Bao buns were my absolute favorite with the pork belly. The Zen ramen was very delicious. And the wonton soup was amazing.
Nine Spices Hotpot & BBQ
Decided to try this place out with my daughter. We never been here before and our server was so informative and helpful. We never felt like we were being judged for our food choices or our cooking times. The sauce bar was a big bonus and the portions you get are very generous. We got the all you can eat and I must say I will go back to this place often. Very delicious food! Awesome atmosphere and experience. Very highly recommend! Will be going back again!
This is a really nice place to hang out with friends and family. My friend took me out to celebrate my birthday and it was such a wonderful feeling! The service was amazing! I even got a cheesecake and a happy birthday song! It was initially difficult to get a hang of things like how the hotpot works, but once the servers came to help us with the stove and all, we started cooking. Because I love hot food, I would have gone with powdered pepper and some extra spices. Outside of that, they have lots of options to choose from. The BBQ is limited to beef, pork, and I think squid and octopus but you can grill whatever meat serving you get for your hot pot. Great place for hang outs. Good comfort food It was a bit loud though. And we added to the noise lmaooo
Kabab House Gainesville
Tried the new lunch buffet at Kabab House a while back and it was very disappointing. I will say the dahl makhani was good, but I did not enjoy much else. The butter chicken was lacking flavor and tasted worse than some of the jarred sauces at the store. The lo mein and some of the other Chinese dishes primarily tasted like oil and not much else. Even the samosas didn’t taste right to me. No one in my party finished their first plate. They have better prices than most for indian food in Gainesville, but I would prefer to pay more for higher quality, better tasting food.
Kabab House was amazing! The butter chicken was absolutely delicious, and the mango lassi was the best I’ve had. Everything tasted fresh and full of flavor. Highly recommend!
Kung Fu Tea
I usually come to Kung Fu Tea for boba, and their Brown Sugar Boba is my go-to--it's always perfect! There was one time the texture was off, but they mentioned switching distributors, so I hope that's been fixed. I haven't ordered it in a few months, but I'm looking forward to trying it again. This time, I was hungry, and my usual ramen spot was closed, so I decided to try their food. I got it to go since they were about to close in an hour. I got the Tonkotsu Ramen and Crab Rangoons. The ramen had a decent broth, and the portion was filling. The broth was creamy but lacked the deep, slow-simmered richness you'd expect. The noodles had a good texture but weren't as firm and chewy as fresh ramen should be. The toppings--tender pork, green onions, and an egg--were satisfying. I wish the pork was as melt-in-your-mouth as proper chashu. It's a convenient option if you're already there, but for a truly rich tonkotsu experience, I'd go elsewhere. The Crab Rangoons were crispy and had a nice balance of creamy and savory filling. Overall, Kung Fu Tea is still my favorite spot for boba, and I'm excited to come back to see if the consistency has improved!
I ordered two drinks, one of which was a black tea with boba. By Taiwanese standards, the boba was not up to par, as it appeared to lack freshness. However, I appreciated the quality of the service
Mahzu Sushi & Grill
even on a busy night, the service was spectacular! since our food was taking a while, they gave us 2 free appetizers and a free desert. The servers were attentive and detailed. The sushi rolls were delicious and large in portion! Would go again :)
Food was delicious and service was extraordinary. I thought it was a little pricey, but the portion sizes are well worth the price. Parking is easy, as this business is located in a business plaza. Overall would recommend
Ten Seconds Yunnan Rice Noodles
Great People Great Food Clean and nice ambiance. Ask For Jennifer. So sweet So knowledgeable This restaurant is different than any I have ever been in anywhere in the United States. You must try. I came with 3 Chinese friends and they all loved the food. Delicious. I’m an open minded American i loved it too
We were SO happy to find this place!!! Everything was absolutely delicious! Highly recommend getting extra quail eggs in your soup, only $2 for 3 eggs! We tried 3 appetizers: the takoyaki, the crispy durian, & the Japanese shu mai. All were delicious! The soups were wholesome, healthy, & filling. 11/10 experience
Wok N Roll
🥡 This is definitely some bomb Chinese-American takeout! First time here, and I was super excited because they have an amazing lunch special that you can order on Saturdays. I ordered the General Tso's lunch, which includes your choice of steamed or fried rice and a drink. FYI: Their steamed rice is actually white rice, not that weird yellow rice some places serve. The chicken came out hot, fresh, and perfectly crispy. The lunch portion was perfect for me, I couldn't even finish it all. I also ordered a shrimp egg roll which was an old school egg roll and huge. Don't sleep on the egg rolls. ⭐️ 5/5 stars - Highly recommend if you're in the area for the lunch special alone.
How do you burn steam dumplings to the point they taste like a charcoal briquette? My unit ordered very easy items and it was completely wrong. The chicken was so dry, the egg rolls were so full of grease they dripped when you picked them up. We were refused a refund without producing the food BUT they were closed after the delivery.
First Wok of Gainesville
This place was delicious and the staff was extremely nice. Food was prompt and delicious. My fortune cookies were extremely promising. If everything goes according to plan I’ll be posting an update. This could be big … stay tuned.
They have the most horrible customer service skills imaginable. I have gone there for years and have noticed rude comments here and there, but ignored them because I didn't try to worry about it. They cause trouble about asking for plastic silverware when picking up a take out dish, and I was asked "aren't you going home to eat this?" Also beware if you're past the ten minutes, because I thought my husband picked up the order, and he didn't, so I was called three to four times, and text messaged three times about the order being ready, borderline harassment, which was really odd, and I went to pick up the order, all within business hours, and was verbally abused to no end about it. They put up the hugest fuss if you're coming in after 10 minutes to pick up YOUR order when driving time from a house to their restaurant can take anywhere from 15-20 minutes not to mention traffic, and they have the audacity to make you feel like the worst person in the world for paying for their food when it sits there for longer than 10 minutes. It's ridiculous, if I order and arrive while the business is still open I don't see what the problem is, but they definitely have a problem with it and don't mind giving you immense grief about it. I still paid but I won't be returning to their business given that they think its okay to treat their regular customers that way.
Chili Spot 椒点
Ordered delivery via Uber Eats. I ordered the Spicy Seafood Dry Pot. Fresh, flavorful, excellent portion. Packed well. Also served with white rice (not shown in photo). Was very enjoyable to order something with a heat level adequate, pairing well with bold flavor. Would order from them again.
I found this on UberEats and ordered the spicy stir-fried beef pot. It was a satisfying and enjoyable lunch. The delivery packaging was well-prepared, and the taste was excellent—overall, a great experience.
