China Town
Not the best Chinese food, but they are cheap and quick, and the portion is rather large. The lunch specials is especially a good deal, less than $8, and that comes with either fried rice or steamed white rice. No dine-in available so takeout only, but there are public benches right across the street.
I would have given it a 5 star. Have you ever ordered the shrimp with rice. Then they only give you two small cocktail containers for 15 shrimps.....I have added pictures. I think the container with the cold slaw should use the shrimp cocktail....Tell me what you think. I have asked about this several times, and all she says it come like that already.
Mayflower Chinese Carryout
This was probably the lightest Chinese food I've ever had. It tasted a bit like it was reduced sodium or something. Still flavorful, fresh, good portion, good price and service was good just... lighter. Hard to explain. But I recommend the shrimp and broccoli. No indoor dining only carry our. Funny I saw some kids actually come here and order the burger and fries. Colombia Heights is an interesting area.
First time at this location. Not very impressed. Good reviews but maybe from people who do not know good Chinese food. I ordered Kung pao shrimp( Mediocre), sweet n sour shrimp ( mediocre, too soggy, it’s like they think they have to soak them for the customer rather than separate the two and serve with sauce so the customer can add as much as they need), shrimp with lobster sauce ( poorly made, this is a traditional dish and it was bland and flavorless) Not impressed neither were my children.
