Best Food In Town
A favorite phrase for Best Food In Town is "See You Soon". It is said with admiration as it becomes an actual reoccurinhg shared sentiment. The service, food quality, and good people behind the counter have been a welcome member of our community.
The portion is mad mad small, there's 3 empty spots on the rice, they used to be a lot better before the pandemic but now they raise their price and the portion is way less. The lady on the front counter is not the friendlier person you will come across today. I can't believe such a little amount of rice they giving you for 950. Stay away and go to that one on route 13 (Northbound side, next to dollar store and a WAWA) YOU will get a totally different portion and treatment. NOO,I'm not recommending them cause is family..lol- I'm Latino soo! They are simply the best around BEAR.
Spice N Nice 2
I'm so glad my hubby and I found this gem. We came from Smyrna to give it a try and it was definitely worth it. Price point is reasonable and the food tastes great. It's so hard to find good Caribbean food in Delaware but this place is our new spot. We ordered the king fish, rice and peas with cabbage. It's hard to find a place that cater to our seafood only diet without breaking the bank but the most important part is the food was awesome. We will be back and I'm going to spread the word to my family and friends too. Thank you guys for this delicious experience.
Looking for a decent Caribbean meal, a friend recommended Spice N Nice. Hungry, and willing to explore, I visited Spice N Nice on a Thursday at approximately 2pm. The parking-various businesses competing for a limited amount of parking, in this small strip mall of stores. The restaurant-a small interior, was modest and busy. There was seating, and the ambiance (noise) was loud to me. Various customers ahead of me in line, I over heard them complaining that Spice N Nice often run out of certain dishes during the day. So, I ordered curry chicken, rice & pea with cabbage; and two beef Pattie’s. I waited about 15 minutes for my order. The food, priced at the industry standard, portions were good, and the food was tasty and appealing to the eye w/plenty of gravy. I would return and order a different dish, to compare my experiences. I was not blown away, with my first impression experience. I would recommend the restaurant to friends and family as one of several Caribbean restaurants in the area.
China One
We only went here because our normal place is away on vacation. Despite friendly service, we honestly, wouldn't go back. This your average American Chinese place but with lower food quality in our opinion. It is obvious they stir in the sauces after the food is cooked rather than cooking with them. My sesame chicken was basically orange chicken with sesame seeds added. My wife's chicken and broccoli sauce was very watery and luke warm. Both items were pretty bland overall. Sorry ya'll - we would not go back.
I used to love China one. It was my favorite Chinese take out but today I got Generals chicken and it was awful. The sauce tasted nothing like Generals chicken sauce and the chicken was dried out. I could only eat two pieces. The rest is going in the trash. I’m so disappointed.
Empire
The food was good! Wish there was more sauce, though. Some things were dryer than we wanted, but the flavor was definitely there.
My order was rang up incorrectly due to an honest mistake. However, when I asked if I could still keep the additional meal they made -- the cashier implied that I would not get my $3 refund that was the difference for the wrong order. I chose the refund but I felt that gesture was very stingy and rubbed me the wrong way. Additionally, the quality of the food was not as good as I expected and some of the items on the menu did not have descriptions.
China Star
I got the beef w. Garlic sauce and shrimp fried rice. It was a 10/10. China Star is my favorite local Chinese spot for a long time.
LOVE the shrimp egg rolls, but tonight I ordered the Hot and Spicy Jumbo Shrimp (S-15) Huge mistake. Only 8 shrimp, 3 pieces of broccoli and about a pound of onions, plus the "spicy sauce" tasted like watered down ketchup with a little hot sauce. I will definitely never order this again. But still love the Shrimp egg rolls!
Hibachi Express
Best Crab Rangoon I've had in a long time. Lots of green onion. Good flavor. Hot and Sour soup was a little sweet but it was good. Great service. I'll he back.
Sushi is basic. Just rice and a piece of fish. Not bad, but not my favorite. Good portion and fair price. If you like basic sushi this is good place. I prefer something w/ avocado, crema, etc, but the flavor is good 👍
Panda Express
I have to share my disdain for this location in particular. I've dined at Panda Express from California to Maryland and plenty of stops in between. My favorite dish at this franchise is veggie spring rolls dipped in their Red Sweet and Sour Sauce. This location is literally the only location that I've encountered, mind you I've dined coast to coast at Panda Express, that wouldn't give me sweet and sour sauce in any other manner than individual packets. It's labeled as sweet and sour, but it isn't anywhere near the flavor or quality as the sauce from the kitchen. Getting this sauce from the "kitchen" has been the norm for me at dozens upon dozens of locations across the county. The cashier named "Milan" told me "no, we can't do that." I asked why this is, and she replied "you just can't, it's only for cooking, you're not allowed to have it." All of which was said with a tone of voice I would describe as condescending. She later gave me 6 little packets of whatever sauce that actually is(they call it "sweet and sour") but it doesn't taste the same and it's in the most inconvenient form factor manner. We had to go back to get more because the minuscule amount of sauce contained in 6 tiny packets was not sufficient for our quantity of food, so we went back again and we were handed only 3 tiny packets. They're retaining this sauce like it's unobtainium. Absolutely poor experience.
Great food and plenty of it. Clean and pleasant to deal with. I would definitely recommend this place 😉.
Szechuan Hot Wok
Ordered from here through DoorDash. The wonton soup was really good compared to others in the area. My grandmother was right.. if the soup is a brown broth, their food will be tasty! I ordered the burbon chicken. I don’t think I got chicken. I’m pretty sure it was pork, hence only three stars. The friend rice is bland. Didn’t taste like I expected but it was still better than most others in the area. Egg roll was good. Almond cookies are a nice treat since they are hard to find these days.
I warn you all now… never come to this place! I had ordered general tsos chicken from this place two days ago with a side of fried wings. Me and my husband had ate this food together but I had a different reaction compared to his. After indulging in the meal a few hours had went by and I decided to go to sleep. I woke up in the middle of the night around 11 pm and started to cramp along with the cramping my stomach could not stop bubbling almost as if I was having come one of reaction with the food settling properly. I went into the bathroom and immediately started throwing up everything I had eaten and on top of this I almost had used the bathroom on myself a few times. This is when I knew I had food poisoning this was occurring for two hours straight where I could not leave the bathroom because if I had I would have gotten sick everywhere. I recommend please never going to this place they have safety guidelines obviously they do not follow properly.
Pho Nhu Vu
Tried this place for the first time after being around the area for a while. Ordered the following: 1. Chicken pho, the broth was great especially with all the fixins! 2. Chicken Banh-mi, very flavorful and great deal! 3. Spring roll with tofu & vermicelli noodles, by themselves not very flavorful, but with the sauce, they were good! 4. Baby shrimp rolls, very good. Will definitely give it another shot!
Ahhh Vietnamese tea. We got vegetable and tofu Pho Soup with chicken broth, and Steak Pho. Both amazing. I wouldn’t recommend the tofu in soup though. Just reminded me why I wasn’t a fan of tofu. We also got two different veggie rolls. spring rolls, and their Shrimp Summer Rolls with peanut sauce. Clean, relaxing restaurant. I love there food here and so will you. I love using the brown sauce in my soup.
Golden Wall
Person taking order was outstanding, reserved, but still good. Wings are frozen, used sizzors to cut something off chicken and used lighter before frying. Order was wrong. Got white rice instead of chow mein noodles.
I've never had a General Tsos I didn't like, until I tried this place. I'm not sure what this is but it tastes nothing like general tsos.. it has next to no flavor at all, zero spice and the sauce is extremely goopy. The pork fried rice has a terrible flavor. The restaurant itself is filthy. Best thing we got was plain white rice 🙄 Will not be back.
China Kitchen
The grab rangoons were tasty. The lo mein and shrimp in lobster sauce, tasteless. There were a lot of already rolled egg rolls just sitting out in hotel pans, the front door and back door were open, with multiple flies in there. The gentleman that helped me, maybe said 2 words to me. When I said thank you, have a great day, he was looking right at me. He turned around and walked away. I should have known not to go here. I'll stick with China Star in Perryville.
This is a great Chinese food option for anybody in Havre De Grace-Aberdeen area. There’s a couple Chinese food spots in the area but this one takes the trophy. We ordered a $70+ dinner and I’ll tell you what, EVERYTHING got demolished. This place taste authentic compared to Alina’s, China Star, Szechuann. A little high in price but that’s everywhere. We know this.
China Haste
Tried this place for the first time and I was genuinely surprised at how good everything was. I avoided this place because of all the prior negative reviews but decided to give it a try to see for myself and I'm glad I did. This is hands down some of the best food I've had in this area. The sesame chicken was so tender and the eggrolls were cooked to perfection. The lady at the front was also super helpful and kind. We were very happy with our purchase here. At the time we went, they only took cash so keep cash on you if you plan to go. There is also an atm nearby. It was all money well spent if you ask me.❤️
Good Food! Definitely among the best Chinese food in the area. This place is cash only! Walking in the lobby is clean, but not much to look at. Overall great spot!
