China City
Exceptional! First Chinese restaurant in the Enfield area to truly impress me. Fried shrimp were large and perfectly breaded and fried, sweet and sour chicken was plump and meaty, crab Rangoon had real chunks of crab. They loaded me up with extra sauces in a neatly packed bag with air tight containers! If my next visit is anything like my first, I will be a regular in no time! Thank you for a delicious dinner and keep up the good work!
Awful, just awful. Kung Pow chicken is supposed to be spicy. The menu even “warns” you it’s spicy. But the Kung Pow these people make has zero spice. None. In fact, it barely has any flavor. Same with their szechuan beef. Supposed to be spicy, and the menu says it is spicy. But it has no spice at all. Barely any flavor at all. The beef is also of questionable quality. Their chicken fried rice (with egg) is, like the rest of the food, horrendously bland garbage. I can only assume this place is a money laundering operation, because I refuse to believe enough people actually like the food to keep the place running. Anyone who likes this place has zero clue what Chinese food is actually supposed to taste like. No one cooking at this restaurant should ever be allowed near a kitchen again, unless the purpose is to torture people with terrible food.
Yang Zi Jiang
I've lived in Vernon most all my life. I found out about this restaurant about 6 months ago and haven't been back to the others since. This food is worth every penny! And the woman on the on the phone is the nicest. It's always a pleasure to see her.
Seriously delicious Chinese takeout, I highly recommend! I’m very picky when it comes to my Chinese food and this place did not disappoint. Flavors were there the egg fried rice was fluffy and had great flavor I love that they add the peas, carrots and onions. Chicken wings were nice and crispy and now drowning in oil, the general tso was delicious next time I’ll tell them not to add so much sauce. And the chicken lo mein was also delicious which I’m also very picky about! We have found out favorite Chinese food in Connecticut finally, we use to drive to Hartford but we won’t be doing that anymore!!!
Sichuan Pepper
From the reviews it’s seems to be very hit or miss the last few years. Generally I really enjoy most everything I order from there. Last night we tried the hot and spicy ribs which were tender, had just the right amount of spice and very good. We also got the general tsos chicken which was a little underwhelming this time. The smoked pork belly with leeks is always one of my favorite dishes. Overall very good restaurant which you can try some more unique dishes.
Sichuan Pepper in Vernon is a must-try! From the moment we walked in, the service was top-notch. Our server was so friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home. And the food? Simply amazing! Every dish we ordered was packed with authentic Sichuan flavor. If you're looking for delicious food and a welcoming atmosphere, look no further than Sichuan Pepper!
China Eagle
Mapo Tofu is good here and you get a lot of it. The saucy fried chicken meals (General Tso style) are prepared well and have a great texture and taste. I haven't tried their noodles yet, but the kitchen smelled great while I was waiting.
Use to go to China Taste in Rockville, but China Eagle is by far the better choice. Food was hot, and boneless spare-ribs weren't loaded with a ton of fat at the bottom of the container. Egg rolls were hot and huge, not greasy. Crab Rangoons tasted like they were freshly made. The whole oder was way cheaper than the Chinese takeout in Rockville.
Peking House
The only area that was open was the counter to place an order. Now, they removed the barrier, so you may be able to eat in their seating areas. They have lunch and dinner special. The food quality is not consistent but not bad. This order in the image was from the lunch special: Garlic Shirmp with fry rice, Sesame Chicken with white rice, wonton soup, and shirmp egg roll for $18.25. The parking lot is connected to the establishment.
while the food is good....a grade above the standard fair for Chinese food...the EGG ROLL sets them apart!! i hate that most places have switched to the stick thin wonton wrapped " egg rolls", but this place still has the thicker egg roll with pork pieces etc....delicious... all the food we ordered was very good but that stood out! the inside of the restaurant could use a remodel....looks tired and dark...but food is good!!
Panda Garden
Food was so bad that my wife is mad at me. Rangoons are flavorless and not particularly crispy, the chicken fingers were not up to snuff, they had the terrible red sweet and sour sauce instead of the good orange duck sauce, but they did have duck sauce packets that were strangely salty and just weird tasting. Beef teriyaki was very wet and gross, general tsos chicken was significantly less appealing than most gas station chicken. Overall would never go back, very disappointed. The most humiliating aspect of this ordeal is that everyone was very hungry so we ended up eating it anyway and just complaining the whole time
Food is the best anywhere for Chinese. Prices are excellent. Everything is fresh and not overly oily. Best tasting I've ever had in Ct, NY, Nj, Mich, Pa and Del. It is, however, takeout only. Prices are fantastic when you consider the quality. Call ahead and they are always ready for you in 10 minutes. Pickup of food is no longer outside. You can go in and behind virus partition.
Hang's Asian Bistro
So excited first time we had it. Great flavor, light, cooked perfectly. Same for another dinner. Third time it was all grease, burned eggs rolls, etc. Bummed bc we thought we found a new place! Coworker got it for lunch this week- it was great again. No extra oil or burned egg rolls. We decided to try it again after this tonight (weekend). Awful. Heavy, drippy scallion pancakes and egg rolls that were burned. So disappointed! Pics do no justice. I don't think we'll try again as it's too expensive to play Russian roulette with.
Excellent Chinese food! General Tso's is crispy; lo mein is great mix of pasta and veggies; shrimp dumplings were delicious. We tried dine-in figuring it'd be around the same timeframe as ordering pickup but without the dirty dishes. Service was courtesy of the owner's kid, which is understandable, but that meant he was busy on his tablet and barely helped us. Eventually, we asked if we could order, then 40min later got our food. Kids were overtired, grownups were grumpy -- next time, just do pickup and save yourself a lot of time and money (drinks). The owner was kind enough to take over and that helped speed us along. Great food, would definitely do pickup again.
Tea More Cafe
I've been coming to Tea More for years, and I love it. My favorite is the beef mala tang (spicy soup), but the black pepper beef and coconut shrimp are good as well. The service is always fast and the owners are very kind. I would recommend eating here to anyone.
My daughters wanted to try boba tea, so I took them here. The food smelled so good. The service was great. The place was clean and inviting. They loved the teas. They had caramel and chocolate they liked the caramel the best.
Lee's Stir Fry
Best Chinese take out ever. Can’t beat their amazing lunch special!!! Very nice people too! My favorite is the general Tso chicken and my boyfriend’s favorite is the boneless spare ribs. Definitely give it a try you will be happy that you did!
We have been living in the area 4 years and haven’t found a Chinese place we like until now. We got the general tsaos, veggie lomein, sweet and sour chicken, and some shrimp egg rolls. Everything was fresh and amazing. Glad we finally decided to try. Will definitely be coming back
Panda Garden
Very fast, clean and tasty I am sharing 2 photos one is my hot and sour soup. I have never in all my life have got a better tasting hot and sour from a take out. Look at the size of the mushrooms. Second photo shrimp lo main. Again the cooking is clean and tasty and look at the size of the shrimp. I am impressed
I gave 2 stars because the people are friendly. If not it would be a one star review. The crab Rangoon’s had carrots in them to look like crab. Everything was under cooked. The egg rolls were half the size of other restaurants. I can honestly say this is the worst Chinese food I’ve ever had. I will never go back. How they have over 4 stars I can not comprehend. 👎
Panda Palace Chinese Restaurant
I’ve been going here since I moved to CT several years ago. The best place around! Great, consistent food! The staff and delivery drivers are friendly, warm, and timely. All around a wonderful place to get really good food.
Egg roll 4/10 the taste was good but was so greasy it wasn’t pleasant to eat. Ethan said “my hands are literally dripping grease” Wonton soup 5/10 the broth was good but the wontons themselves were hard and flavorless Water is city tap, but doesn’t taste too strong of chemicals 5/10 Fried wontons cold but good crunch and taste, 7.5/10 General Taos 7/10, it is sweet and crispy, not the best I’ve had but is better then most Pork fried rice. Did someone take my rice and drop it in a fire? then plate it? It tastes like a charcoal grill 3/10 Service 7/10 they kept our water full but that’s about it Cleanliness 2/10 why did my boot stick to the floor, and overall just not a clean place. OVERALL 5.1/10
China Taste
Tonight I got dinner here. I’ve been coming to China taste for over 10 years. When I was younger my mom would always order from China taste and have conversations with the lady I believe that owns the restaurant or runs the front desk. Every meal I’ve had from China taste is delicious, the people who work here are great people and you can tell they all work hard and are caring about the food they put out. Me and my family still all order from this same restaurant and rave about it to others. Best in the area. Not sure what the other reviews are about I’ve never had a meal here that was poor quality. You get a lot for your portions, I love ordering the combo meals! Thank you to the front desk, delivery, and cook(s) for my meal tonight!! ~shannon
The food is good for what you pay for. Not the best Chinese food I've had but not the worst. The dinning room isn't open so it's takeout only. The dumplings are great but my husband doesn't like the fried rice. Again it gets the job done but not the best in flavor.
