Uncle Jack Thai Restaurant
My new favorite Thai food in the entire state! We have eaten here at least 50 times, and we will continue going back. This is one of our favorite BYOB spots, and not just because of the BYOB. I've tried at least 25-30 different Thai restaurants, throughout New York and Connecticut, in my entire life. I've even photographed Thai food menus back when I used to be a commercial stock photographer. So, you could say I'm kind of a Thai foodie / snob / enthusiast! Uncle Jack and his wife Nina never fail to disappoint. Their service is exceptional, the food is delicious and consistent. It would be hard to even have one complaint about their hard work. The parking is a short walk from either the lot in Dean's Stove, the bike trail parking, or the Lion's Den public lot. My favorite dishes here are the curry noodles, the duck noodle soup, and of course, the Drunken noodle. You cannot go wrong with anything else on the menu. The appetizers are also fairly priced, and super tasty.
Awesome experience every time we go! Small family owned business. Prices are very fair for todays standards and it's BYOB! Ordered the drunken noodle and ginger dish this time. Fresh ingredients: shiatke mushrooms, cabbage and fresh ginger just to name a few.
Friendly's
More a kids place salads are great not the same as used to be but ok. They charge extra for dressing tiny cups. Everything cooked frozen hard as a rock 70.00$ for three adults super melts and waffle fries and one fribble. Never again. Waited ten mins to b seated and still attitude from the waitress.
I love ordering Friendly's online. It's quick and easy. The food is always ready so quickly! Their ice cream is so good, and their prices are very fair.
Gohan Japanese Cuisine
Gohan Sushi is an absolute gem! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, but what really set this place apart was the incredible service. Our waitress was not only kind but also extremely knowledgeable about the sushi and the quality of the fish. She explained how the restaurant sources different fish from various regions depending on the time of year—right now, their tuna comes from Mexico because the water is too cold elsewhere, while other selections are flown in overnight from Japan, where the water temperature enhances the sweetness and overall quality of the fish. The attention to detail and commitment to fresh, high-quality ingredients were beyond impressive. Every bite was melt-in-your-mouth delicious, and the experience felt like something you’d expect at a high-end sushi bar—except at a fraction of the price. Honestly, I would have gladly paid way more for what we had. You truly can’t beat the value for the quality you’re getting here. If you’re a sushi lover, this spot is a must-visit. Easily the best in CT.
It was my first time visiting Gohan, and it definitely will not be my last. I have walked by this place at least 100 times going next door to my favorite protein shake spot and never once thought about giving this place a try. From the outside, it looks very plain. Shades are drawn, and you can not see inside. The inside is very small but quaint. Our server was very polite, attentive and knowledgeable. Being a Chef, It was interesting to hear about the quality of the fish they use and everything they import to make it an authentic experience. The sushi was so fresh. It was honestly incredible. I have dined at sushi places near and far, and Gohan is hands down the best I've ever had. You can really tell they pride themselves on the quality of their product, and they have a passion for food.
Saint's Restaurant & Catering
I finally ate at Saints! I've been in Southington for almost 11 years and decided to try them out. I went there for breakfast the other day and really enjoyed it! The breakfast was fresh and the waitress was great. I also enjoyed the atmosphere. Customers seemed to all be happy and enjoying their meal. A very welcoming place to eat. I'll be back soon! The coffee was fresh and the waitress kept refilling my mug! Great service!
My husband and I love this place. We go every weekend pretty much, I can honestly say we never had a bad meal. Saturday we usually go around 8:00 ish good timing. Sunday can be a little busy after church. Portions are good, service is good, prices are reasonable. The picture posted is stuffed strawberry french toast, yummy, usually it comes with two, but I get three. DELICIOUS. The picture at the end was a new special my husband got, sorry I don't remember the name. Please try the Hash mountain, he always gets that. Enjoy.
Noble Japanese Steak House
Nestled in the heart of the city, this restaurant offers an exceptional dining experience that stands out from the rest. The establishment is impeccably clean, setting a welcoming tone as soon as you step inside. The service is nothing short of stellar, with servers who are not only attentive but also exude friendliness, making every guest feel valued. The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the Hibachi, which was not only delectable but also a source of entertainment, providing a delightful and interactive experience. Complementing the meal were the expertly crafted drinks, adding a flavorful touch to the dining experience. The presence of the manager, who actively checked in on guests, added a refreshing and personal touch, ensuring that every aspect of the visit was up to par. Overall, this restaurant is a gem for those seeking delicious food, outstanding service, and a memorable night out.
Excellent family place, we loved the service, and the way the chef treated us, we all ordered havachi! in different ways!shrimp chicken salmon, all very delicious and above all with excellent flavor. We loved the high quality. We were a group of 11, we called with a reservation within 30 minutes. Before, as soon as we arrived, they took care of us and gave us an excellent welcome since they didn't make us wait for anything.I recommend not arriving too late as it seems to get very busy.
Manor Inn Restaurant
Celebrated my Uncle and Aunt's 50th Anniversary last night at the Manor Inn. Our family was set up in a private room for the special occasion, as we were a larger party, Reservations accepted. Food delicious, service impeccable, atmosphere cozy, comfortable. I would highly recommend this establishment for regular night dining or big events.
Hosted my friend’s baby shower here. So glad we picked here to hold the event. The service was outstanding; the staff greeted us with warm smiles and were attentive without being intrusive. We loved Franny! She was so helpful every step of the way! The brunch buffet was absolutely delicious! Loved the eggplant parmigiana, so delicious! The banquet room we had was lovely and cozy. Perfect place to host an event!!
Grace's Restaurant
The best diner in the state, bar none! Me and my family have been going to Grace's since I was a kid, for over 30 years! Every time I'm back in the state, this is destination #1. Every morning that starts off with a Grace's breakfast is a start to a good day. You can't get a better breakfast anywhere else.
We had lunch this afternoon at Grace's Restaurant with our 2 1/2 year old and his parents. As soon as you get through the door you can tell by the buzz and friendly greeting this is going to be good. With the little one it's always a toss of the dice but he was very well behaved and was content watching all the activity of wait staff serving and people coming and going. Now back to the review of the restaurant, exstensive menu and many choices for the little ones. Staff was super friendly and very attentive. a couple of the adults ordered salads and I ordered a turkey club sandwich. My Grandson had chicken fingers with fries, he was all set with that, big portion and as long as he had ketchup to dip in he was all good. The salads one a grilled chicken with apple and walnuts, green peppers and tomatoes, the other was very similar but substituted chicken salad for the grilled chicken. When the salads were brought to the table there was a unanimous WOW, huge salads and very good. My Turkey Club was loaded with turkey and bacon, hmmm hmmm good, came with Cole slaw and fries both of which were plentiful and good. No pictures of the Childs chicken plate he wouldn't have taking a pause and me clicking a pic. The other adult ordered the classic BLT, nothing but compliments. Grace's Restaurant is now on our stop in whenever close by. I highly recommend Grace's Restaurant to anyone who wants to eat a great meal with fresh food and large portions, not to mention the hometown atmosphere with locals engaging in conversation and time spent with friends and family. We Did.
Thai Kitchen 4
No stars. 47$ .chicken satay 1 chicken breast cut into 3 pieces… Thai fried rice with chicken no veg… cup and a half of rice and barely any chicken at all. . Beef drunken noodles…. Togo container half way full. If my fiancé didn’t want the rice so bad I would have returned and demanded a refund! Highly disappointed . drunken noodles had no flavor at all. On top of it .
Patty is the owner, she is so sweet! Her husband tells me she takes forever in the grocery store, hand picking her ingredients, she takes her time with her food, and even hand washes her dishes and glasses. She works hard to take care of her customers and make them happy. The dining room atmosphere is so warm and cozy and they provide excellent service! It’s private, and comfortable!
Townline Pizza
I was currently buying lunch for my staff here at least once a week spending close to $200 every transaction. Today I had placed a small order and they had served me freezer burnt/ under cooked wings. I ended up talking to the "owner" as she claimed and when I addressed my concerns regarding the food I had received she told me I have many other options and I chose them, so I get what I get.. Also that I am being "disrespectful" towards her because I had an issue with my food... When I brought back the wings and pointed out the problem she told me that chicken skin should be as white as a piece of paper when cooked (I was a butcher for 10 years... not true...) and then she laughed in my face when I showed her that the chicken wasn't even fully cooked and raw in the middle. She then told me to come back into their kitchen so that she could prove they don't freeze their chicken. Im pretty sure that's a health code violation since I didn't have to wash my hands or clean up in any way.. she just invited me back there off the street.. Do not get food here.. You WILL get sick. Wings covered in sauce should not have visible white spots on "non-frozen" products.
Love this pizza it actually taste better putting it in the oven for 5 or 6 minutes on Bake 385° and don't forget the cup of marinara sauce to dip the pizza in it's the best pizza in whole Waterbury or Cheshire 👌
Zheng's Chinese Restaurant
Since Covid Zhengs is a takeout only restaurant. The food is tasty and is ready quickly. The service is good. My favorite is Moo Goo Gai Pan combination plate. I also love their Lo Mein and spring rolls
Just finished up our meal from Zheng’s. We got several dishes and they were all delicious - chow mai fun, lo mein, moo goo gai pan, orange chicken, Gen Tso’s chicken, and vegetable eggrolls. My husband’s only gripe was that the spicy dishes we ordered were too spicy. They are quite spicy, but I loved it! Next time I’d just ask if they could go easy on the chili peppers.
China Gourmet
We saw the business as closed, oh no…. so we used the phone from an old menu. Tada…. They were in fact open. We ordered spare ribs, I had pepper steak, extra extra, extra hot, and a few other things today July 26, 2024. Wow, when you order something that you want hot and you get it and it makes your eyes water, that’s what I call hot, just the way I wanted it, perfect. Don’t change a thing.. :-) The hours have changed, from Thurs - Friday 4- close.. Their food is so good, not sure why Google showed this business as perm closed, it’s certainly not.. get out there and enjoy. Yum..
I love Chinese food! Spending the weekend in the area, I was craving it, and this place was walking distance from T/A Truckstop, which is a super plus. Although I love Chinese food, it doesn't always love me back. Sometimes, it gives me migraines. I still enjoy it regardless. The food was made to order and it was really good. Ordered the House Wonton Soup (enough for 2) and the Gourmet Combo B (shared between 2). Food was fresh, with no saltiness aftertaste, and never felt overly thirsty afterward. Best of all, no migraine! The owner is on the road to recovery from sickness, so for the moment: ■they're not fully open, only Thursday to Saturday 4pm to 8pm, ■takeout only ■CASH Only, ■no beverages available to buy
Hen House BBQ
I really want to continue love Hen House their chicken is still very delicious after it switched owner. But ever since then the portion is not acceptable. I ordered a 2 pieces dark chicken dinner, the size of the thigh is good but the drumstick is smaller than a chicken wing. The roll is even bigger than the drumstick. I also ordered rib with 2 pieces of dark meat not pictured. The size of the thigh is much smaller than the one in the pictured one.
Since I first moved to Southington in 2004, this has been a favorite spot of mine! The cuisine is consistently delicious and expertly prepared! I adore the coleslaw, deviled eggs, and ribs. That's all I ever receive, so to be honest, I can't say much more about it. I hope to return soon and was happy to return!
