Hunan Pan
The best! I visit often and always sit at the sushi bar. Joe is always on top of his game. The fatty tuna and king salmon are out of this world. It's the freshest and tastiest sushi ever. It's paired with amazing sauces. If you love sushi, Hanan Pan will not disappoint. Highly, highly recommended!
My husband and I started going here over 10 years ago when they were in another location. It is the absolute best Sushi of all time!! We moved about 18 months ago and still every time we visit Ct, we have to stop at Hunan pan. Made in Crazy, Big Mama and their peppered tuna salad are our favorite and we order every single time! Couldn’t even wait to eat before I remembered to take a picture haha. And to top it off, the owners are the absolute nicest people! ❤️
Thai Shelton Kitchen
I will sing praises of this restaurant from now on! I was pleasantly surprised to find such amazing food in Shelton. And after seeing how great the food was, I was upset to see it was very quiet inside. We were the first customers around 6:00pm on a Wednesday. That may be the reason, but even so, hopefully this review convinces people to try this place out. This is hands down the best Thai food I’ve had in a long time. Everything was so fresh and delicious. My compliments to the chefs in the back. Next time I’ll stay a little longer to get their story, but they clearly know what they’re doing. The winners for us were the Tom Kha and the chicken pad tai. Seriously, I finally found the best Tom Kha around. I would live off that soup if I could. The pad tai was so incredibly fresh and flavorful. The gyoza was great but next time we’ll get it pan seared instead of steamed. My boyfriend got the kimchi rice. He said the flavor was great, a little kick to it; exactly what he’d expect from kimchi rice. I know the area/location may be disheartening but please do yourself a favor and try this place. Once you step inside, it’s a whole different world. You would never guess something as good as thing is in downtown Shelton. Service was great too! Wish I could remember our servers name, but he was very kind and quick with our drinks too! The atmosphere was great. Cozy and inviting. Also wanted to mention that the pricing was great too! A lot of places overcharge but they charge a fair price for excellent food. Please do yourself a favor and try this place out. You won’t regret it!
Found my way into this place one evening with my family looking for a bite to eat. We all left happy and full! Now when I'm in the area I stop in for takeout! Owner and staff are very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is relaxing and ambient. The food is phenomenal, made fresh and in a timely manner, so much flavor and you can tell that the chefs put love into their dishes! Definitely the best Thai food in the area if not the whole state. So if you like Thai give them a try! You won't be disappointed.
Barn Thai Restaurant
Barn Thai Restaurant is truly an amazing place to eat. I've gone there a few times this year and every time it blew me away with how amazing this food is. The service is great and the decorations are a nice touch. The drunken noodles are the best I've tasted around. This place is way above all the other Thai restaurants I've been to. I will definitely be coming back. Not to mention it is BYOB.
Upon entering this Thai restaurant, the ambiance might feel unremarkable, but don't let that fool you. The culinary journey here is exceptional, underscored by the creativity of the menu, which offers a unique twist on traditional Thai dishes. Starting from the moment you peruse the inventive menu, authenticity shines through, with staff audibly directly from Thailand, enhancing the dining experience. Their dishes, especially the vibrant papaya salad and fresh rolls with scrumptious sauce, are a testament to their freshness and authenticity. The attention to detail is reminiscent of Thailand itself, like the delicate rose crafted from a straw's wrapper, a rare find in the US. The green curry also stood out, with its delightful taste. This place is a gem brimming with outstanding Thai cuisine with a creative flair.
Little Chopstick
Best Chinese food in the area Must try General TSO’s chicken Staff including the chef was so generous and humble
Only Chinese food around my area that I will eat from. The place is clean, customer service is good. Food tastes awesome. I get the General Tso's. It is a little pricey but worth the quality.
Red Lotus Restaurant
I’m from California, now living in Texas and visiting Providence. Red Lotus is one of my very favorite restaurants. It was worth the two hour drive each way. Larry the chef/owner is a terrific host and has a great non-traditional Asian menu. Last night’s appetizer was shrimp stuffed jalapeños cooked tempura style. We could have ordered four of those and made that our dinner. For the entree, you can’t go wrong with the Peking Beef. My fav. No mater what I’ve had there, it has been pretty wonderful. A big plus is that staff are well trained and help each other with serving and picking up.
The best Asian restaurant I been to the fall of the bone 🍖 ribs are the best in Connecticut I will be back. Nice place for date with your spouse
Chinatown Shelton
This was one of my favorite Chinese places for a long time but the last time we had it the taste and quality went down significantly. One of our dishes didn’t come with its sauce, pork fired rice had fat chunks inside, chicken & broccoli had zero flavor and the crab raccoons only had cream cheese couldn’t find any crab.
I've lived in shelton for 20 years now and I've been coming here since they moved to shelton and never had a bad meal
Taste Of Joy
Tasty food, lunch special for $6
Very unappetizing and disappointing. I gave them a shot based on the seemingly good reviews but The food is bland and dry and honestly gross. The Lo Mein is bone dry and no flavor. the chicken is weird and mushy and wet and no flavor. Wouldn’t recommend
Shanghai
Very friendly, welcoming before you’re even through the door, smells amazing as you walk in. English is not the first language so you know it’s good. Reasonable pricing for such delicious food. Big menu selection as well. I’d highly recommend coming here.
Easily the best egg rolls around. I mean come on, look at that fry. Love Shanghai it’s the only place my fiancé and I order this style of food from and the owner is a super friendly guy.
Misimi - Hibachi. Asian Fusion. Sushi. Bar
I can’t believe I live so close and just discovered Misimi! This spot is tucked away in the back of a plaza on a busy road, and I’m so glad we finally gave it a try. We’ll definitely be back often! The menu is packed with Asian fusion options, so there’s always something new to try. The homemade crab Rangoon and duck bao bun specials really stood out for us. We have high standards for bao buns, and these were perfect—soft, fluffy, and not dry at all! The ambiance was also a pleasant surprise—such a beautiful setting for a hibachi night. Our server was fantastic, even suggesting we try the garlic aioli with the bao buns, which was a total game-changer. They also have great lunch and happy hour deals that make it even better. I can’t say enough good things about this place—it’s a must-try!
Not sure how this place is still open with the way they operate their business. They scam people so if you dine in you get a normal portion size but if you ever order for take out as my family did TWICE they give you what looks like someone else’s left overs. I was wrong to go back a second time after the first issue. Today I called my order in and the women asked me about my order three times and I clarified multiple times. When I showed up to pick it up I opened the bag because I had a terrible experience last time and it was missing one whole hibachi plate. They had me wait 10 mins to make the additional plate for my order. Once I got home I opened the bag and JUST LIKE LAST TIME what they did was open the one plate and split the salmon and steak to make the second order that they forgot!! I called in and spoke to “bow or Boa” who is apparently the owner and he was very rude and stated that it was pretty much ok they did that because they didn’t charge me for the plate that they forgot initially!! He then proceeded to text me rudely after I sent photos of the order telling to come pick up my money and to never return there again as if I would ever! Do not go to a place like this terrible customer service, dishonest and scammers charging full price and giving you crumbs!!!
Sushi 2020
This was our (wife and I) first time eating at Sushi 2020. The ambiance was warm, with soft music playing. The food was great! Take a look at the pics. I was especially surprised by the house salad which was one of the best house salads I ever had at a sushi restaurant. The service was perfect. I think one of the owners helped us and she was very sweet. I’ll definitely come back again. Next time I’ll bring the kids.
This place is a cute mom and pop type of restaurant serving both japanese and korean cuisine. I personally got a bento box for takeout which came with 제육볶음 (spicy stir-fried pork) 잡채 ( japchae/sweet potato noodles) 김치 (kimchi), miso soup, salad, and rice. Everything in that bento was definitely made with love and care, extremely fresh and flavorful. Also the lady/ owner is super friendly, she even wished me luck for my trip to korea. Definitely check this place out if you’re in the area.
Wild Kanji Hibachi & Bistro
Went for hibachi for a Christmas party.. I don’t even eat hibachi, I ordered off their menu, but these men went above and beyond to make sure our group of almost 20 had an absolute blast!! It happened to be my birthday, so one of our hibachi chefs made a 36 on his grill and lit it on fire, they sang happy birthday and brought me a complimentary slice of cake. The chefs also kept the sake FLOWING and the entertainment high the entire night. I ordered sushi, crab Rangoons, and pineapple fried rice off the menu. All three were excellent, and my pineapple fried rice came served inside half of the hollowed out pineapple. Such a nice touch I have never previously seen. Given the two main hibachi choices in Shelton, I would say Wild Kanji is the obvious choice!
Definitely a fun, easy-going experience. For my first time having hibachi, I was relaxed and entertained. While the food isn't blow your socks off good, it's still very fresh and delicious. Well worth the price of admission. Generous portions, friendly staff, clean restaurant, quality food and talented chefs.
Baingan Indian Cuisine
I went to this place on Memorial Day weekend, when I entered surprisingly there are no customers in big seating restaurant. I want to sit back side open area with river side view. This place is really highlight for this restaurant, Unfortunately that is the only thing I liked in this restaurant. The food I ordered is butter chicken and garlic roti, mango lassi. Chicken is quoted with red color and it’s hard chew. Garlic rotis are good. I don’t know why it’s really hard to drink lassi. I left most of the stuff on table, didn’t feel to take it in box. Overall thumbs down 👎
it’s really good to have lunch or meal before evening at this place for scenic view. foods are average but i like this place for views , it attracts me and feeling urge to go again
