Very cool old school no frills tasty hot dogs and cheeseburgers! Driving through Connecticut. Stopped and checked out Blackie’s. They make their own relish. You dress up the hot dog and cheeseburger how you would like. You have a choice of homemade relish, spicy ground mustard, and ketchup. They are not open on Fridays. No meat allowed on Fridays!

During my recent visit, I enjoyed a perfectly grilled burger and a savory hot dog that hit the spot. I have been going here and love the food. Now never again. They gave someone else my food and made me wait an hour for a single combo meal. They didn’t offer me a discount for waiting or their mess up. No thank you.

So this is a little Chinese place hidden in Prospect, CT. The lady that runs it is very friendly and accommodating. The food is the best Chinese food I have had hands down anywhere around where I live. I got sweet and sour chicken. The chicken was perfectly golden and crispy. The sauce was sweet with a hint of sour, and the rice was perfectly cooked. My 14 year old actually ate it too, and she's very fussy about what kind of Chinese food we get. She said it was the best she'd had too. I definitely recommend them.
