LOS POBLANOS MEXICAN GRILL FOOD TRUCK
Read very carefully! If you really like Mexican food, this is the place to come. I ordered fajitas on Grubhub almost a year ago, and I still remember why I decided to come try the place in person. Today I went with a small Chicken Tortilla Soup (amazing size, flavors, and served perfectly) and 2 chicken tostadas. The seasoning is perfect, the food is fresh and the flavors will stay in your mouth for quite some time.
Chili cheese fries were amazing. Fast service too.
Pho King Spot
Well what a Treat! After perusing so many restaurants at Parkville market, I finally parked my feet in front of Pho King Spot. What a great decision, and a truly genuine Vietnamese food experience. I ordered the crispy spring rolls to start. Then, decided on the oxtail soup as a main course, and was absolutely delighted. The spring rolls were light and flaky, and had the all-important fish sauce for dipping. The oxtail soup was an amazing blend of noodles, the thick rich broth and a beastly hunk of oxtail. The meat had all the signatures of the best Vietnamese meat stew. Absolutely succulent! Once you've gone around the culinary wheel at Parkville market a few times , and see the Vietnamese cubbyhole, you will know you've landed at one of the best establishments in Hartford. Walk on over to King Pho Spot.....and enjoy!
I came here craving pho. I got the Oxtail & Beef Pho. And it did not disappoint. They make their pho from scratch so you can taste the high quality in the broth. They also add the perfect amount of vegetables to the pho. It was about $19.50 for a bowl. The people working were so sweet and helpful when I was deciding what to choose. They give a generous amount of oxtail meat so if you’re really hungry I’d recommend that option 10/10 experience
China House
One of the better places that serve Chinese food very well worth it been here before but this time the waiter was not on it, so that’s y I gave a two star for service.
Old school restaurant with incredible food. We moved to CT from MA and tried countless restaurants until we found China House. Drinks are also very good and very affordable. We would highly recommend.
Chong Qing Noodles House
A hidden GEM! The food is incredibly fresh and flavorful - all hand made noodles, dumplings - everything from scratch. The owner Monica let me try her delicious cucumber salad and beef. She was so warm and personable, her family has been in the restaurant business for years. I’m surprised this place isn’t constantly packed. She even customized my soup to make it spicy 🥹🫶🏼 I found a new staple spot and will be bringing my family here!
Overall 6/10 (where 5 is average and 10 is the best meal I've ever had) I got the Pickled Vegetables and Shredded Pork soup noodles and a Fried Tofu. Unfortunately the grill wasn't on for skewers (I dined early before dinner rush). Pickled Vegetables and Shredded Pork soup noodles - Broth wasn't that flavorful and looked and tasted a little like boiled dumpling water (which isn't necessarily bad). There was a lot of sesame oil and was too salty - Noodle texture was the saving quality. Great chew. Fried Tofu - There was a lot of tofu in each piece which was great. - It wasn't seasoned well. Quite plain; there was a sort of sweet soy oil at the bottom of the plate but being that it's fried tofu, it wasn't a great mix.
Genghis Khan Kitchen
This place no longer have AYCE service. Order from menu. They offer lunch specials during the weekdays. Prices are reasonable with big portions. Some old schooled dishes. I see a lot of orders TO GO.
Ordered pick up. Friendly staff, exceptional food and service bringing the food out to the car and even gave us a box of freshly made cookies as a gift, thanks. Highly recommended.
Hong Kong City Restaurant
Fairly decent Hong Kong style restaurant /cafe located on Park Boulevard. Portions are somewhat hefty, and what we ordered tasted pretty good. The curry beef stew was my favorite. Other winners include their beef chow fun and Mongolian beef with rice. This isn't necessarily Panda express type of Chinese cooking. Service is friendly and efficient. Parking in the public garage next to the theater is free after 6pm. If you're in the mood for Chinese food, not Chinese American food, give Hong Kong City restaurant a try.
I’m not much in Alameda but their Hai Nam Chicken at Hong Kong City Restaurant was really good! Ginger sauce & peanuts tie up the whole plate! Worth coming 😋😋. On a side note, chairs inside the bathroom was funny! 😂😂 Will definitely come back again.
Ark Chinese Restaurant
Judging by its name you can't really tell what kind of Chinese food Ark Chinese restaurant offers. I think it was probably a noodle restaurant focusing on items from northern China. However it seems that the new owners have hired a cook that can also make Cantonese dishes. As a result the menu is more extensive and there are quite a few selections to choose from. We ordered the pan fried green onion pancake, hand pulled beef noodle soup, tomato beef chow mein, beef stew noodles and sweet sour ribs. All were fairly good but I should note that the flavors were quite intense...as in too much salt or too much sugar. If you do pay a visit, keep that in mind. You may want to tell them to cut back on the salt and spices. More importantly the prices are quite reasonable for a restaurant on Park Street in Alameda. Entrees, dinner items, generally run around 15 dollars or so. The decor is ho-hum but the dining room is certainly quiet....perhaps too quiet , or maybe we were there too early. They could use some flowers or some paintings to liven up the place. Maybe play some K pop or something. The wait staff are friendly and helpful though. if you're looking for an inexpensive place to eat before you see a movie or just in the area, give Ark Chinese restaurant a try. The food might assault your taste buds but the prices won't assault your wallet.
Fried chicken IS SO CRUNCHY, somehow they increased crunchy by 3x over other fried chicken. A++++++ ate many and will again
Wild Ginger
Great small restaurant that a coworker recommended me. I really enjoyed everything they had to offer. The hospitality of the staff is great. They are very attentive and giving. I assume she was the owner, we were given a free cucumber salad in their signature chili oil sauce that they make and sell separately. The hand pulled noodles were great! I can’t complain about anything on the dish. The pork dumplings were great too. It had a sweetness to it that I can’t pinpoint but it was delicious.
Excellent food and excellent service, what more could you ask for? If you like fresh noodles, dumplings and spice, you gotta give this place a try.
China Moon
A truly delicious takeout experience. Two of my favorite dishes are the salt and pepper fish and eggplant and tofu. The fish is crispy (even as takeout!) and so tasty. The eggplant and tofu are so soft and packed with flavor. I recommend China moon!
Yes. 95% of the time, I’m a happy camper! There’s been a few slight hiccups here and there but I appreciate this spot.
China Jade
Got the pupu platter and it was disappointing compared to other same value ones I've had. The jumbo shrimp was not jumbo, just regular shrimp. Then the beef stick and spare ribs were dry and had no flavor at all, I expected that slightly sweet glaze on them. Everything else was okay.
The best Chinese food in town. Every time I order, the person who picks up the phone is always helpful and patient. The food is always fresh and tasty. The price is also very reasonable and the food is always ready quick.
New China House
I order the spare ribs combo that comes with pork fried rice and fries on the side. They sent me a whole platter full of fries and spare ribs no fried rice. The Almond cookie were small and looks like it came out of a package you can buy at any grocery store 1/4 tub full of unknown sauce with label and I didn't ask for. To top it all off The Uber delivery person left my food outside and didn't call or notified me. After I left specific instructions on the app.
Hard to beat 20+ pieces of sesame chicken, rice, broccoli and an egg roll for $11. Food was ready for pickup in 10 minutes as well.
