Walter Stewart's Market
$4.00 for a persimmon and $5.00 for a pomegranate! What in the world is going on here??!! Supposed to be fresh baked bread is stale and baguettes are stiff and heavy. Very hard to get simple, traditional baguettes in this country. They are supposed to be light and airy inside but crusty on the outside. Not hard to make either but man, sooo hard to find around here.
While I find the grocery store a bit expensive, I think this store has interesting curated items that I can’t find anywhere. For instance, pink lemons and exotic fruit, anchovies in hot sauce (can’t find anywhere), fresh pasta of all varieties, large section of pre-made food and an on sight sushi making stand. Not to mention the largest shelf to make decorated cakes with sprinkles. The parking lot is a bit difficult to manage but overall a nice small store one can get to know quite easily.
Ching's Table
Amazing food! Love it Everytime we come, however they do charge refills! Be careful, spent $25 on soda!
Ching's Table is our favorite Chinese Fusion restaurant in Connecticut with quality ingredients, attractive presentations, and a very reasonable pricing. Our favorites are Sichuan dumplings, Filet steak with shrimps, coconut shrimps, crab cakes, and sauteed spinach. Service is friendly and attentive.
Miyuki's Noodle Shop
Food is great. The other restaurants in the space are good as well. Healthy options, just check the opening hours before you go.
Divine! I haven't had a shrimp poke bowl this good since I was in Hawaii. Great service and presentation. Backstory I think could be true: her husband runs Dante's next door.
Cherry Street East
This place was incredible!! We came here for dinner and the staff are so sweet. The food is great, and the workers are very attentive. We came and even got a free dessert for simply being kind to there staff. I definitely will be back!!!
The food was terrible. Nachos were almost inedible, Mac and cheese looked like kraft from a box. Burgers were overcooked. No parking. So bad.
Hashi Sushi
We went here for our anniversary. We ordered the love boat and some saki. We sat outside and the service was excellent. Food took a bit long to come out but it was very good. We ordered the love boat, edamame, and saki.
Great sushi restaurant. Excellent quality. Seated after a dinner rush, momentary wait. Came here for Mother's Day so it was a holiday weekend crowd. Food was great. Service efficient.
Chef Luis Restaurant
We recently had a great meal at Chef Luis! Something cool that they have on their menu are these tortilla cups that the chef fills with all kinds of different things - some of our personal favorites were the lomo saltado and birria taco cups! He even did berries and cream in them for dessert! We also really enjoyed the Italian quesadilla and scallops we had that evening. The staff and chef are super friendly and welcoming!
The food was absolutely delicious, and the service impeccable. Chef Luis even came out and spoke to us and gave us a complimentary dessert. It was heavenly. I live in New Haven, but the drive to New Canaan was worth it. I will definitely go back.
