So I've been going to this place for years now and this is the first time I've felt uncomfortable going there. The sign was still lit up that the place was open. I came in and asked for three food items. The man seemed a bit annoyed and me being someone who works as a cashier started to wonder why. Concluding that when people shop at my store late at night and Iv known some employees to get annoyed. I was pretty sure I understood why this man seemed annoyed. So I asked were you about to close. And he answered yes. So I apologized and he said it's ok. When I got my food I asked if I could have some duck sauce. He said behind you on the table. I knew that was the sauce that tasted horrible. But I said thanks anyway and grabbed some hoping maybe it might taste different than it used to be. Then I heard the man seem to grumble behind me sounding annoyed. The sauce I tried tasted terrible like I thought. And their shrimp is more salty than it used to be. If your going to be this upset for a customer to come in late because your about to close you should just turn off your open sign in the window. I felt very uncomfortable. I'm pretty sure that will be my last visit to that restaurant.

The best Chinese food ever! They've only gotten better with time and I was a regular about 20 years ago. They always make their food fresh delicious and leaving you wanting more anytime of the day or night. There other restaurant in branford is no match for the original one!

This restaurant hates children. My children and I decided to have a special night out and so we walked together to Jade Garden, the only restaurant place my children asked for. We walked up the ramp (two small children and a baby in a stroller who was asleep). We saw two women at a table and another small group at another table. My kids were so excited that my son asked if he could sit at a specific table. One woman offered me a high chair. The woman who was supposed to wait on us jumped up and said she would not serve us and we could only order take out. I told them their hours say they are open for over an hour and that they are clearly serving other people right now. The women told me no they weren’t. (I could clearly see and make eye contact with the other people eating.) She said we could go outside and order take out and wait but they would not serve us because it was 7. The hours clearly say 8:30 and no where does it specify that is for take out only. Nor is it posted that they will serve adults but not children. My children were disappointed and I already informed this restaurant it was unacceptable to refuse service when my children did nothing wrong and that we would not be back for dine in or take Out. This is coming from someone who orders there for take out at least once a month for my entire family. We are done and if you have small children and the older waitress is working, she will throw you out and not care at all if you tell them they lost your business. To quote the woman “we been in business over 30 years we aren’t going anywhere”

A family operated restaurant that we've eaten at for 25 years. The lunch menu features a good variety of popular Chinese fare and prices are right. Everything gets cooked nicely. We particularly like orange flavor beef #23, eat in or takeout. Sam (owner) has a full bar if you want wine or beer. Service is by family and long time wait staff... always quick. What is missing in atmosphere is not noticed once you start eating. This is Chinatown quality.
