Niu Sushi & Ramen
SUCH an amazing sushi experience!!!! We loved every second of it. First off, L who runs the place is AMAZING - so attentive, kind and friendly. Second, the sushi eating experience just wow. We decided to do the all you can eat which we definitely had big eyes for but the fish was so fresh and the rolls so creative. I mean look at that boat!! They also had great Gluten free options including tamari sauce. And L brought us mochi for dessert on the house which was so sweet! The atmosphere is also really cute for being right off the highway. Perfect sushi night, with even better people!! Thank you L❤️❤️❤️
Can't say enough good things about this place. My Gf and I are in town visiting and we were lucky to find this gem up the street from our hotel. First off, the service was amazing. Our waitress was so friendly and patient as we asked questions about the menu and about the all you can eat sushi options. There was obviously a lot of work that went into presentation when everything was brought to our table and our waitress was on top of everything. And the food- well above average. The spring rolls were literally the best I'd ever had. The chicken ramen was well above average. The sushi itself - some were great and some were just okay, but to be fair we had ordered a lot of things to try so it was a matter of personal preference and we'd ordered some things that may just not have been our cup of tea. Overall, really great value for $30 and even if we hadn't have done the all you can eat the menu had a lot that looked great and at reasonable prices. Well done Niu!
The Rib House
This was a perfect place to satisfy our BBQ craving during the wintertime! As soon as you walk in, you're greeted with the smell of their delicious cooking. We were really big fans of their ribs, pulled pork Mac, and steak and cheese eggrolls. They've been making the same homemade recipes for 30+ years and I hope they never change a thing! What an East Haven gem. Even the cheesecake was homemade and so fluffy. All of the staff we met were incredibly welcoming and nice to talk to. We'll be back!!
The best bbq in town! Portions are big and the food is tasty. The baby back ribs and slaw are my favorite. The staff are always friendly! Love this place.
East Haven Village Family Restaurant
always a good meal here and service is never a problem. Honestly don't be afraid to stop here you won't be disappointed if you are ok with good diner food.
The food is so good here I usually get a burger but last time I got the penne vodka with shrimp and it was great . Waiters are always sweet as well ! 😀 definitely a great place to dine in !
Foliage Chinese Food Restaurant
(Sorry for the first messy photo of the tofu and rice, I was so hungry I dug in😂) I ordered General tso tofu as well as a large chicken and rice soup. For years, Foliage had been my go to spot for delicious Chinese takeout. Their food is always fresh and well prepared as well as easy and understanding communication provided by staff. It’s shocking why Foliage has bad reviews because everytime I order, the food is clearly fresh and never over or undercooked compared to other Chinese restaurants in New Haven or east haven. If you want great Chinese food at great cost and timely delivery for either yourself or the whole family, Foliage is your best choice!
The Worst food I've ever purchased in my life. Lobster fried rice was missing the Lobster. Fried chicken wings raw, just looked cooked until you bite into it & what!!! bloody! I ordered on line over $120.00 for five person meal. Mixed vegetables only two broccoli & carrots. I wouldn't send anyone there to eat, not even a cat or dog on the street. REPEAT! You are taking your life down the tubes. Yes! I am angry! You would be as well. On The menus food looks good but it's bait & switch. Trust me don't dine, take out or eat there. Bottom line 😞😔.
China One
I’ve only ever gotten straight fire from this place. They give you fresh, not greasy, juicy food 9 out of 10 times. I’ve been coming here 2 straight years and waited this long to make a review. No complains.
China One restaurant has been the #1 consistent thing in my life for years. It always makes me feel so safe when they call back, even if they missed the call, especially since I have been going through a bad breakup recently. This my dog nephew and he woofs the spare ribs down like his mom. Him and I order often before crying on the couch. This place is the egg to my roll, the moo to my shoo. Only complaint is changing the building from blue to yellow.
Koi Sushi
Koi Sushi offers a satisfying all-you-can-eat experience, with an expansive menu full of delicious and well-executed dishes. The chefs demonstrate a high level of skill in preparing the sushi, sashimi, and other Japanese fare, ensuring each dish is fresh, flavorful, and meticulously crafted. The variety on the menu is impressive, allowing guests to explore a broad range of dishes, all prepared with care and precision. However, the ambiance at Koi Sushi is simple and functional, with little to distinguish it beyond its practical design. The temperature in the winter months can also fall just below comfort level, which may leave some diners feeling less than fully at ease. The music played is Chinese in origin, which is an unexpected touch for a Japanese restaurant and might not align with the traditional atmosphere one might anticipate. The service, while efficient, falls short in terms of warmth. The staff, while professional, often appear serious and somewhat disengaged, which affects the overall atmosphere. A more personable and welcoming approach would elevate the service and contribute to a more pleasant dining experience. Despite these elements, the food at Koi Sushi remains the standout. It is clear that the kitchen prioritizes quality and consistency, making this an ideal choice for those seeking a diverse range of well-prepared dishes.
This is an all you can eat sushi restaurant. It's a pretty small place. The sushi is decent, nothing to write home about but also nothing to complain about. I think the price for all you can eat is reasonable. However if you're there for a long time and eat a lot (maybe especially near closing time) they seem to kind of stop paying attention a bit to what you actually ordered and just put on whatever's left in the kitchen. Which wasn't a big deal, it was still good.
China Star
Tried for the first time - had boneless spare ribs with fried rice - very good. Egg roll was chonky and crispy. Crab rangoons were pretty good as well. Used the order online option - no trouble. Order was ready within 15 minutes. Will definitely be back!
I saw this place in East Haven ai was out for a bike ride. I’ve been craving Chinese food and haven’t found my go to spot yet. I ordered shrimp in lobster sauce and tofu with mixed vegetables. Both came with rice, and my total was about $28. There’s enough food for three or four meals. I’d definitely go back! My only complaint is that they don’t deliver to my area, but none of the Chinese places nearby seem to 🥲
