Pepper Asian Bistro II
As a discerning diner with a particular palate for Chinese food, I've explored countless restaurants in Denver, but Pepper Asian Bistro II remains my unwavering favorite. Its chic atmosphere, coupled with its exceptional culinary offerings, creates an unforgettable dining experience. Two dishes that consistently elevate my dining experience are the Walnut Shrimp and the Happy Family. The Walnut Shrimp is a masterpiece – tender shrimp, delicately coated in a sweet and savory sauce, adorned with crunchy walnuts. It's a symphony of flavors and textures that never fails to delight. The Happy Family is a culinary favorite, featuring a harmonious blend of chicken, beef, shrimp, and scallops, stir-fried to perfection with vibrant vegetables. It's a feast for the senses, showcasing the restaurant's expertise in balancing flavors and creating visually stunning dishes. Beyond the delectable food, Pepper Asian Bistro II offers a chic and inviting ambiance. The modern decor, soft lighting, and attentive service create a sophisticated atmosphere that complements the exquisite dining experience. If you're seeking a truly memorable Chinese dining experience in Denver, Pepper Asian Bistro II is the ultimate destination. The shrimp fried rice is also a favorite served with large plump juicy shrimp. They also do delivery when you just don’t want to leave your house.
Pepper Asian Bistro II is a fantastic spot for delicious Asian food in Denver that won't break the bank! It's some of the best in town - you won't regret going here! The service is always friendly, and we've always had great meals here. This time, we started with the Cheese Wontons and Chicken Gyoza, which were both excellent! For our main course, we shared the Sesame Chicken which had perfectly crispy chicken in a delicious sweet and savory sauce. We've also enjoyed the Egg Drop Soup and Walnut Shrimp on other visits. Some of our other favorites include the Spring Rolls, Pad Thai, and Orange Chicken. Pepper Asian Bistro II has a wonderful atmosphere for a casual meal with friends or family, plus they offer takeout and delivery. Highly recommend!
Nana’s Dim Sum & Dumplings
After eagerly waiting to try Nana's Dumplings, we finally had the chance to visit—and it did not disappoint. Everything we tasted was exceptional, but the **beans and buns** were truly unforgettable, standing out as the highlight of an already incredible meal. The experience was made even better by the exceptionally helpful staff (Francheska) who assisted us. Her friendly demeanor added a personal touch that made the visit all the more enjoyable. Though the Colorado Springs location has yet to open, our visit to Nana's Dumplings proved that it is well worth the drive. This spot has set a gold standard for flavor, and we can’t wait to enjoy it again in the future—perhaps next time, closer to home!
Did we order just about everything? YES. But we did make the mistake of not ordering the soup dumplings because we thought they were the Signature Bao 😢🤣 We will be going back to get them! Having just moved from NYC we thought this place was over priced for Denver, but the food was good. The only thing that wasn’t a hit was the beef noodle soup. The flavors were there but just not as bold as what I’m use to and seem to be on the sweeter side. The service and atmosphere were great. We look forward to revisiting!
China Palace Restaurant
I had one of the lunch specials of shrimp with vegetables. It included soup and an eggroll. It was delicious and I enjoyed it very much. There wasn't a buffet which I was hoping for but I guess Covid changed that. I did not ask if they ever offer a buffet anymore because I didn't think to ask. I was there just after 11 am and before any crowd. I'd definitely visit again. Very friendly staff.
The vegetable fried rice has the perfect crisp and crunch on the veggies they were not shy with the bean sprouts and I just love that. In addition to the rice being brown and well seasoned. It was my first time trying the egg drop soup a pinch of salt and it would have been perfect. The egg roll is happiness in a bite. Kelly was super nice & offered additional service. She brought some out for me to try with red pepper and idk what else but it made the meal over the top. And they accept Apple / digital wallet forms of payment. At one point they had a buffet idk when it’s coming back but I be wanting. Very nice establishment.
China Family Restaurant at Highland
I just love a good hole in the wall food place and that’s what China Family is. I was finally convinced to try this place out; don’t let the exterior push you away! As someone who grew up eating Chinese food this place absolutely blows me away! I haven’t found a perfect 10/10 hot and sour soup in Austin but I think this place is it (not oily and actually spicy). Portions are generous and everything served family style. I’ll be back!!
China family has been our go to Chinese restaurant in Austin since they opened their first location. This location is the best one now. It’s the most authentic Chinese restaurant in Austin. More similar to Chinese food in NYC or California. We love the Sichuan chicken and the Chongqing spicy chicken! So good! ( skip the Chinese-American dishes)
Kuong Chan's Chinese Restaurant
I have driven past here almost daily for several years and finally decided to give them a try for lunch the other day. I was not disappointed! I was seated right away and offered tea. Everything came out quickly and was hot. The portion sizes are on par with every other Chinese restaurant I’ve gone to, but the chow mein is the best I’ve had! I am a garlic lover, and I could see the minced garlic in the vegetables. The breading on the sweet and sour pork was perfectly done, though I would have liked more of the sauce (personal preference, my husband would have thought it was just right). Prices are reasonable, and I will definitely be back. I’m disappointed I haven’t tried them sooner!
The owner is very hospitable. I thought our orders will take long because they were short staffed but we got it pretty fast! And food is great! Did not disappoint!
Shanghai Chinese Restaurant
First time dining here for lunch and have only good things to say about it. Great attentive service and good tasting food. Forgot to take pictures before eating so these are after we were done. Portions were huge and this was what’s left remaining. The dim sum is really good too and I enjoyed the Chrysanthemum tea with rock sugar a lot. Highly recommended.
If you haven’t been here in a while, it’s worth trying again! We came here 2 years ago and were pretty unimpressed, but I read on a food forum that they’ve made improvements and decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed! We came during a weekday lunch and everything was made fresh to order. Great that it was fresh, but it did take a while for all the dishes to come out. You can tell most items are made in-house, not frozen. Dare I say it was better than New Fortune?? The shumai and shrimp cilantro dumplings were our favorite and had generous servings of shrimp. Spare ribs and chicken feet were tasty as well. Service was good, although the place was fairly empty. I hope more people try it out bc we need more dim sum places here in the city! I can’t be driving 40 min for a dim sum fix.
